To me, that was the most damning part of the long, sad story Ashton told Jim. Being a Beluga Whale, Ashton‘s body contains massive deposits of blubber, designed to keep him warm during the coldest winter months. Thus, there’s no way he could have been as cold as he claimed. It’s simple biology.

The moment Ashton feels the tiniest bit of pain in his stomach he gorges himself until bursting, then he eats again soon so the pain of emptiness does not threaten to come back. It is not hard to think such a creature would interpret the tiniest bit of cold as himself on the verge of freezing to death.
The reality is he probably looked at his large food budget and decided if he grifted he could increase that further. When dealing with someone that large you will not go far wrong if you simply assume his motivation is always, directly or indirectly, food.

Damn, you’re not wrong. The logistics of removing Ashton’s swollen, bloated body from the rollercoaster car would be daunting. An industrial-grade crane would surely be required.

I think chat needs to push Ashton to reveal his history regarding being turned away from things due to obesity the next Kino Casino. Has Ashton ever been too fat to fit in an airplane? Gotten stuck in a bus seat? Fallen while walking at an intersection and unable to get back up himself without assistance, blocking traffic? These questions need answering.
