I'm not really sure whether it matters that their downfall was instigated by a gay op. I don't subscribe to the idea that a targeted discord op could ever be entirely responsible for the disaffection and contempt we're seeing from veteran viewers, barring the spread of complete lies. Clearly, the criticisms levied against KC are resonating with their audience, regardless of whether they came from some 'social engineer' on discord. Look at this thread. If this was a discord op, they were only accelerating the inevitable.
I also don't really believe that any of IBS' previous takedowns were genuinely grounded in moral outrage, even if said streamer actually did do something wrong. It's more about likeability and content quality than ethics; Tonka was a shit content creator. Andy Warski was a shit content creator. Ethan Ralph was a shit content creator. Sargon was a SHIT content creator. Moral precedent has always been little more than an excuse; if you're not funny, original, or incisive, any wrong will be sufficient to condemn you.
