For as long as it apparently took to edit, it could have been better than 1 hour 20 minutes of Shane's shocked face and "OMG"s...

https://youtube.com/watch?v=OTCOoVApM_U
But it's not
I have watched every other episode, focused (thanks autism) but I couldn't force myself to sit through more than 11 minutes of this bullshit. And that includes quickly scrolling through comments before turning it off. The way they addressed drama without actually providing any information was the second lamest thing about these series. First was Shane turning into a jukebox of whiny lines. Is there any highlight or interesting part in it that I missed?

More drag makeup. These styles and shades all look quite silly in the real world, they're not practical for real-life wear. The women (and teen girls) who wear this stuff in public look ridiculous.

It can be summarized like this :

Someone: omg! Something something website and/or makeup!
Shane: mouth wide open looking shocked OMG!
Someone else: omg!
Cut to J* wearing a lot of highlighter on his cheekbones looking nonchalant
J: omg it's like...
Cut back to Shane looking shocked

Shane: omg!

Not gonna lie, that emerald green shade *is* gorgeous, and Jeffree releasing it in a single pan makes it very tempting for me to get it. I love to wear gemstone colors as eyeliner (it's a great way to add a little pop of color without making it look like clown makeup). I could easily see myself getting that eyeshadow and using it for exactly that.

That said, I already own quite a few emerald green pigments and eyeshadows ... So I will once again skip out on this collection. Not that I own anything from Jeffree Star Cosmetics anyway, but ... You know what I mean.

If anything this "docuseries" has made me like Jeffree a little bit more and like Shane Dawson a whole lot less. Not that I think Jeffree is a good person or anything. I just think that Jeffree's levels of professionalism and business saavy (in regards to his company only, of course) are interesting to watch, whereas Shane really exposed himself as the exact opposite. I could totally see moments where Jeffree was getting visably impatient with Shane. Plus ... The meet and greet in the final video? Look at how Jeffree dolled himself up ... And then there's Shane, wearing a fucking tracksuit, and his "gang" wearing jeans and sweatshirts. They looked like slobs. Couldn't even bother to get a suit?

That alone makes me not want to buy that stupid palette. How am I supposed to take Shane Dawson seriously as a "beauty guru"? This palette is so obviously a "cash and dash" situation for him, and it feels so fake. I can see why Jeffree wanted Shane's name on some of his products; it was a good business move. I just don't believe for a second that Shane himself actually has interest in makeup ... So why should I buy from his makeup collection?

Jeffree is obviously a multimillionaire and quite good at the marketing game, but, I don't think he actually had 'fuck you money' until after this release. Now he does.

I don't think it's a coincidence that about a week after the launch, he announced he just purchased his "dream home."

I've been a follower of J* for a long time and do own quite a bit of makeup from him. Regardless of how much of a cunt he can be, his formulas are tops and the prices are decent. He's a perfectionist when it comes to his business and it shows.

Shane, on the other hand, is just gross. He made his living on being gross. The guy barely showers and pees in bottles that he admittedly leaves in his bedroom. Even in the promo shots for the collection release, he still looks like a slob. Standing next to J*, who is constantly pristine in front of the cameras, Shane looks even more like a potato face slob.

I'm not going to fault J* for the collab since it was a great business move. But I do hope this is the last one with Shane.

Tbf this is his 3rd "dream home"

I think up until this point, Killer Merch was his bread and butter. They do everything, from sourcing the products, the printing, art direction, web site construction and distribution. That's fucking money right there.

However, all those warehouses he has been purchasing and the overhead to stock and staff them must be fucking insane. Shelving units, forklifts, work tables; keeping the lights on and the place climate controlled, insurance, salaries etc. It's astronomical.

Remember, when the James Charles debacle happened he was with Killer Merch. Jeffree shut James's online store and was about to start swinging. Jeffree would not have won that lawsuit, and he could have lost it all. That's when he decided he had to grow the fuck up, or his drama whoring was going to bankrupt him. Now he's set.

I think after this release, he could never work another day and live in the manner to which he is accustomed for 100 years, whereas, I think previously, that was not the case.

eta: Sorry, I didn't know I had this much J sperging in me, lol, but, did you notice how very delicately they danced around the JC drama? It was just Shane crying and jizzing and OH MY GAWDing that Tati said "fuck" and Jeffree saying something very neutral and non-incriminating. When, bitch, we know what happened and how it all went down.

I could only find a few reactions like this. It's just makeup. Not worth getting so worked up over.

For real, can someone please explain this more than just "They're idiots"? Like what is happening inside their head to make them so important to them? Are they going to lose social status if they don't get it? Do they think it will gain them money somehow?

Obsession over it. Some of these women collect everything that popular youtubers like Jeffree, Tati, and Jaclyn put out.

I have constantly been teetering back and forth on deciding whether to buy stuff from Jeffree Star Cosmetics. That Northern Lights highlighter palette and the liquid lipsticks. Haven't taken the plunge though.

The liquid lips are really good, not too drying and stay on all day. I started by just getting the one of the nudes bundles and then later bought the shades that worked for me.

Northern Lights was also decent. His highlighters are very reflective, so it's pretty important to use sparingly unless you're stranded on a desert island and trying to attract planes. There are enough shades in that palette that at least a few of them will work for most skin tones on a consistent basis.

Northern Lights is a very nice one, and actually has one thats more sheer in the metallic glow department.

Nudes are the easiest to get started but I bought Dirty Money as my first lip color and love it, and wore it frequently when I worked with Monies My fave though is Scorpio.

Sometimes when a highlighter doesn't quite "work" for my skintone as an actual highlighter, I love to use them as eyeshadows.

That blue highlighter in the Northern Lights palette ... So pretty. I want to top my black eyeliner with that shade.
