There's thread on the game albeit with little posts on it. I've played it through xbox gaypass - I remember that campaign felt like teen drama and had you deal with stupid stages before you could fight anything. Skirmishes themselves (which is the gamemode that keeps most players in CoH 1/2 anyway) are extremely boring and little to no difference in multiplayer, as if every unit was moving through tar. Variations between factions felt more cosmetic rather than having anything to do with balance, mechs and expansion in the battlefield felt disappointing.
Play Company of Heroes 2 instead - it's aged but probably is cheaper with all DLCs and there's still active community in it.

I found it to be not that good, at least during the beta. It was mainly things like infantry tanking explosions because it was a damage type that dealt less damage to infantry. Moving units felt sluggish somehow and just felt "off" in a way I cant fully put to words. But all of this could have changed post release.
You could just buy it and try it for a bit then refund it if you don't like it, or go sailing and find a copy on the sea.

I would agree with this. CoH 2 is a lot more fun and still have an active playerbase.

Well, depends.

If you want a RTS with mechs, Iron Harvest may be what you are looking for. The mech designs are nice and it's average. The single-player campaign is a chore to go through and the AI is not good enough and won't hold your attention too long. The multiplayer isn't too complex either.

Warhammer 40K Dawn of War does everything Iron Harvest does, but better, IMO. Infantry combat is great, factions are varied and the base price is about the same, and you can buy extra content.

If you want a strong RTS with good community and singleplayer, I'd recommend ZeroK to scratch that RTS itch. It has all you want and is free to play (as in, completely F2P, not freemium or P2W or lootbox bullshit)

I saw the ads and it kind of reminded me of Ring of Red, which is good. But still, don't know if want...

It's not bad, I like some of the mechs but it suffers from 2 problems. First being something that CoH can't do and that's Macro battles. Everything runs well when you're directing 3 infantry squads and a tank but when you have 5 mechs, 6 infantry squads and need to corral them into cover and the like, you arn't going to make it work. Still love Blitzkrieg mod though, that does Macro better by not focusing so much on individual units, meaning you can spam and take losses.

Second is the campaign is pretty bad, the game will regularly spawn units off map to rush your base or rush your army, slogging you down. I don't mean a single squad of infantry with a mech for support:

I mean spawning artillery mech, flame mech, AT infantry, Machine gun infantry and Grenadiers every-time you capture an oil derrick. And this was me playing on Easy because I knew the DLC with the Usonians would try to raw dog me.
The absolute worst was Telsa's factory, because before I hoped it got patched, it would produce very strong Tier 2 Mechs every 3 minutes but they didn't receive the order to assault my base. So after slogging my way through a factory that constantly produces troops to repel you, I get to this wall of chrome and my 5 mechs are going up against 18! of these that just sit there, I destroy maybe 3 but then have to rebuild my entire army from scratch. One trainer activation later and I got through but the campaigns are very raw. There's the odd fun mission like the ravine defense for the not-germans using artillery but that's one mission in like 8 that are pain.

So I wouldn't buy it, pirate it first to see if you'll like it because I'd want a refund if I bought this. Play Age of the Ring instead. ModDB 2020 winner, tons of updates and is actually fun. Buildings are kinda tanky though, rewards defensive gameplay.

Also that's a preview image for a DLC video, that's not my mouse. While taking the screenshot, some dev left their mouse over it then didn't take it out of the final product.

I didn't really love it

Kinda slow play, weird damage rules, odd unit behaviours and a clunky UI

I don't think its actually finished, I think it needs a few more months in the oven.
