my reasoning for pikachu is more because i had an unhealthy obsession with Pokémon Mystery Dungeon in 2007 and that's the game where you could play as a Pokémon, my first successful file was as Pikachu so it's something that's kind of stuck with me ever since. It helps that I actually find Pikachu legitimately adorable.

If not Pikachu my other choice is definitely Flareon. It's my favorite Pokémon and I have a bit of personal history with it lol
