I went to a fairly fancy Thai restaurant for dinner and had a very tasty red curry. After that I went to Starbucks and got a fancy $5 cup of coffee, and then went to the library and borrowed a copy of Galaxy Quest and bought 7 comic books for 10 cents a piece.
A little apprehensive. About to graduate next weekend, unless I don't pass these two classes I've been struggling with. So a few sleepless nights over that.
This week has been going alright. Monday to yesterday kind of sucked. Anxiety was throughout my mind that time. I somewhat managed to get by. On the bright side, I tried a sake drink for the first time. Too bitter for my liking.
As I was leaving for work this morning, I came across this lil fggt in our driveway. She be laying her strange turtle eggs and acted like she didn't give a shit about me being all up in her face snapping photos.
A little further down there was a moccasin sun bathing but got spooked and slithered away before I could get a photo of the little bastard.
I went to Pyrkon (a huge fantasy convention) where I spent two days chatting and drinking with cool people I met over the internet. It was super great! The amazing, colorful crowd of geeky/nerdy people attending the con made for an enjoyable ambience.
I've also bought a second monitor for my PC. It shows others I'm serious about computers, just like wearing two ties shows people you are extra serious about your job.
I swear there is something going around. Our clients' office had it, my friends up in Seattle had it, my boss got it, and now I caught it
I ate a couple cloves of garlic plus some spicy ramen (http://www.amazon.com/Nongshim-Ramyun-Black-Noodle-Ounce/dp/B0061JW7I2 will change your life. So much better than the cheap ones) yesterday. If you live in an area with Asian grocery stores or a Ranch 99 market consider picking up a jar of yujacha. Ranges from $5-$10 and it's kind of like having honey lemon water except it's better. It's got a robust flavor because the peels flavor the honey jelly and they're nice to chew on after. It's also nice on toast. I added a dash of cayenne to my cup of yujacha because I'm a nutcase.
And holy shit it smells so good. It's almost like the smell of a Chinese-American Christmas in a jar.
Lucky part is I don't feel too bad but my sinuses were mad congested today. My boss had it worse but both of us are leaving for vacation within the next week.
Spring cleaning is good because sometimes during the process, you discover movies you had no idea you owned and have absolutely no recollection ever purchasing.
I've had the worst hay fever (at least I assume so since I don't feel drained like I do when I'm sick) ever all day today. While at school, I sneezed like crazy and my nose was dripping so bad that I went through my entire packet of tissues and several more from the box on the teacher's desk. At home, it's like my entire head is stuffed with cotton, and the antihistamine I got isn't helping.
Fuck pollen.
And I totally just now saw that @Mourning Dove posted about having the same whatever-the-crap-it-is.
Had a stressful day. Everything just seemed to be shitty, and I still (after sixteen hours) can't figure out what the fuck I'm doing on this take home final. On the bright side, a friend I haven't spoken to in a little over a year reached out to me and I got to see him for a little while. I'm kind of worried about falling asleep, to be honest, because I'm pretty fucked if I accidentally sleep through my alarm.
I went to a psychologist for a vocational evaluation and it went fairly well. I'll get the result next week and talk to the vocational rehab counselor, and I hope soon I'll be able to get a job.
I met @champthom today with @applecat while he was in the area for travel, and he provided us with the great taste of Charleston Chew.
He also awarded me with an Admin Sheriff badge
How official.
Sadly no cute group picture
But we did get to walk around Chinatown and swap inner Kiwi secrets.
Stressed out. I get a month off after my finals are over and then it's right back to college taking three fucking business classes. The worst part is that some of the accounting shit carries over to one of the classes too. I need a break.
Got the grade I needed in the class I was having trouble with, so I'll be receiving my master's degree after all. My graduation is tomorrow, so that was great news. I also finished my last day at my current job, meaning I'm now officially unemployed.
