Project Veritas - Google Exec Decries Trump's Election: 'How Do We Prevent It from Happening Again' | Breitbart
Allum Bokhari

Google-exec-Jen-Gennai-1-640x480.jpg

Undercover videos recorded by Project Veritas reveals that Google is determined to prevent the re-election of Donald Trump in 2020, and is altering its products with this aim in mind.
The report includes undercover footage featuring a top Google executive, Jen Gennai, discussing how Google might prevent an electoral outcome like 2016 from happening again.

Here’s what Gennai says in the undercover video:
We all got screwed over in 2016, again it wasn’t just us, it was, the people got screwed over, the news media got screwed over, like, everybody got screwed over so we’re rapidly been like, happened there and how do we prevent it from happening again.
We’re also training our algorithms, like, if 2016 happened again, would we have, would the outcome be different?

Gennai also declares her opposition to Democrat presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren’s proposal to break up Google. Why? Because, says Gennai, if Google is broken up it can’t prevent another “Trump situation.”

Elizabeth Warren is saying we should break up Google. And like, I love her but she’s very misguided, like that will not make it better it will make it worse, because all these smaller companies who don’t have the same resources that we do will be charged with preventing the next Trump situation, it’s like a small company cannot do that.

Gennai also declared that no amount of soft pressure from Congress or the White House will make Google change its ways. In other words, talk won’t help — if politicians want to change Google’s behavior, they’ll have to go beyond committee hearings and actually change the law.

We got called in front of Congress multiple times, so we’ve not shown up because we know that they’re just going to attack us. We’re not going to change our, we’re not going to change our mind. There’s no use sitting there being attacked over something we know we’re not going to change. They can pressure us but we’re not changing. But we also have to be aware of what they’re doing and what they’re accusing us of.

According to her professional profile, Gennai works on “responsible innovation” in the Global Affairs division of Google — the same division run by Kent Walker, the Google VP who has declared his intention to make the populist-nationalist movement represented by Donald Trump a “blip” or “hiccup” in history, which he said “bends towards progress.”

Walker made these statements just days after the 2016 election, in a confidential video recording that was leaked to Breitbart News.

Google Insider to Project Veritas: YouTube Deliberately Suppresses PragerU, Dave Rubin, Tim Pool | Breitbart
Allum Bokhari

A Google insider who spoke anonymously to Project Veritas claims that Google-owned video platform YouTube is discriminating against creators who do not meet the tech giant’s political criteria.

The insider explained that Google and YouTube use terms like “machine learning fairness” to give a sheen of neutrality to their efforts to suppress content that might contradict progressive narratives.

He also claimed that their efforts now extend beyond conservatives to non-partisan commentators who critique the left as well as the right, like independent journalist Tim Pool.

Via Project Veritas’ interview with the insider:

…They described that they were going to have more content filtering, and right after that happened a lot of the content creators started to get demonetized, and their videos started to get deranked. I’m talking about Dave Rubin, I’m talking about Carpe Diem, I’m talking about Tim Pool, and a lot of the other content creators that are within YouTube ecosystem just saw their, their view counts just go through the floor.
So, Google is targeting what they consider rightwing news commentators so that includes Tim Pool, Dave Rubin, Steven Crowder, and a host of other right wing people that they are coming in and they’re deciding that they don’t want these opinions to have a wide appeal. And so they’re coming in and they’re putting their thumb down, and they’re deciding which content the users are allowed to see.

They’re playing narrative control. And what they’re doing it is they’re applying their human, the human component, which is they’re going through – with an army people – and they are manually intervening, and removing your content from, from their servers, and they are saying that the algorithms did it. And in that case for the high profile people, it’s not just ML Fairness that you guys have to worry about, it’s actual people that have their head filled with this SJW mindset, they’re going through and removing the content because it – because they don’t agree with it.

Watch the full interview below:

Project Veritas also obtained undercover footage revealing yet another Google executive declaring the company’s intention to intervene in its products to stop Trump in 2020. “Responsible innovation” head Jen Gennai was recorded stating that Google shouldn’t be broken up because smaller companies couldn’t prevent “another Trump situation.”

(New York City) — Project Veritas has released a new report on Google which includes undercover video of a Senior Google Executive, leaked documents, and testimony from a Google insider. The report appears to show Google’s plans to affect the outcome of the 2020 elections and “prevent” the next “Trump situation.”

The report includes undercover footage of longtime Google employee and Head of Responsible Innovation, Jen Gennai saying:

“Elizabeth Warren is saying we should break up Google. And like, I love her but she’s very misguided, like that will not make it better it will make it worse, because all these smaller companies who don’t have the same resources that we do will be charged with preventing the next Trump situation, it’s like a small company cannot do that.”

Said Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe:

“This is the third tech insider who has bravely stepped forward to expose the secrets of Silicon Valley. These new documents, supported by undercover video, raise questions of Google’s neutrality and the role they see themselves fulfilling in the 2020 elections.”
Jen Gennai is the head of “Responsible Innovation” for Google, a sector that monitors and evaluates the responsible implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies. In the video, Gennai says Google has been working diligently to “prevent” the results of the 2016 election from repeating in 2020:

“We all got screwed over in 2016, again it wasn’t just us, it was, the people got screwed over, the news media got screwed over, like, everybody got screwed over so we’re rapidly been like, what happened there and how do we prevent it from happening again.”
“We’re also training our algorithms, like, if 2016 happened again, would we have, would the outcome be different?”
Google: Artificial Intelligence Is For A “fair and equitable” State

According to the insider, Machine Learning Fairness is one of the many tools Google uses to promote a political agenda. Documents leaked by a Google informant elaborate on Machine Learning Fairness and the “algorithmic unfairness” that AI product intervention aims to solve:

Screen-Shot-2019-06-23-at-10.35.03-PM.png Screen-Shot-2019-06-23-at-10.37.28-PM.png

The insider showed Google search examples that show Machine Learning Fairness in action.

Screen-Shot-2019-06-21-at-3.13.29-PM.png

“The reason we launched our A.I. principles is because people were not putting that line in the sand, that they were not saying what’s fair and what’s equitable so we’re like, well we are a big company, we’re going to say it.” – Jen Gennai, Head Of Responsible Innovation, Google

The Google insider explained the impact of artificial intelligence and Machine Learning Fairness:

“They’re going to redefine a reality based on what they think is fair and based upon what they want, and what and is part of their agenda.”
Determining credible news and an editorial agenda. . .

Additional leaked documents detail how Google defines and prioritizes content from different news publishers and how its products feature that content. One document, called the “Fake News-letter” explains Google’s goal to have a “single point of truth” across their products.

Screen-Shot-2019-06-23-at-10.40.03-PM.png

Another document received by Project Veritas explains the “News Ecosystem” which mentions “editorial guidelines” that appear to be determined and administered internally by Google. These guidelines control how content is distributed and displayed on their site.

Screen-Shot-2019-06-23-at-10.41.14-PM.png

The leaked documents appear to show that Google makes news decisions about what news they promote and distribute on their site.

Comments made by Gennai raise similar questions. In a conversation with Veritas journalists, Gennai explains that “conservative sources” and “credible sources” don’t always coincide according to Google’s editorial practices.

“We have gotten accusations of around fairness is that we’re unfair to conservatives because we’re choosing what we find as credible news sources and those sources don’t necessarily overlap with conservative sources …”
The insider shed additional light on how YouTube demotes content from influencers like Dave Rubin and Tim Pool:

“What YouTube did is they changed the results of the recommendation engine. And so what the recommendation engine is it tries to do, is it tries to say, well, if you like A, then you’re probably going to like B. So content that is similar to Dave Rubin or Tim Pool, instead of listing Dave Rubin or Tim Pool as people that you might like, what they’re doing is that they’re trying to suggest different, different news outlets, for example, like CNN, or MSNBC, or these left leaning political outlets.”
Internal Google Document: “People Like Us Are Programmed”

An additional document Project Veritas obtained, titled “Fair is Not the Default” says “People (like us) are programmed” after the results of machine learning fairness. The document describes how “unconscious bias” and algorithms interact.

Screen-Shot-2019-06-23-at-10.43.08-PM.png

Veritas is the “Only Way”

Said the insider:

“The reason why I came to Project Veritas is that you’re the only one I trust to be able to be a real investigative journalist. Investigative journalist is a dead career option, but somehow, you’ve been able to make it work. And because of that I came to Project Veritas because I knew that this was the only way that this story would be able to get out to the public.”
“I mean, this is a behemoth, this is a Goliath, I am but a David trying to say that the emperor has no clothes. And, um, being a small little ant I can be crushed, and I am aware of that. But, this is something that is bigger than me, this is something that needs to be said to the American public.”

Project Veritas intends to continue investigating abuses in big tech companies and encourages more Silicon Valley insiders to share their stories through their Be Brave campaign.

As of publishing, Google did not respond to Project Veritas’ request for comment. Additional leaked Google documents can be viewed HERE.

Case of the Mondays:

Gist: I am victim! Conspiracy theories! Debunked doctored! I am victim.

Medium comments taking her faux victim boohoo right apart.

First off, the full video was released. Unlike most major networks, which do heavily edit things and don’t release full videos — Project Veritas always released the full, unedited content. Attempting to say you were taken out of context is not going to work, the context is there and its clear. I assume this tactic was given to you by whatever PR firm Google has jumping on this, but please spare us — the smears against their undercover work have proved fruitless in the past. When are you guys going to learn, just having the media sing in chorus isn’t enough to anymore? You can’t manufacture truth, no matter how much you want to…Which I assume is why controlling the internet has become such a hot button issue for various Tech/Media.

Of course you frame that control under the guise that you’re “protecting us from foreign influence”. Hate to break this to you, but Google is an international company, it has foreign workers..it is foreign influence. The notion that ideas are bad because of where they come from is Orwellian. Its breathtakingly dangerous. As if the truth can somehow be tarnished because it came from somewhere we don’t like. You’re confusing truth with trust. And while its fine to say “don’t trust foreign sources”, its not fine to say the information those sources provide can’t be verified because they are somehow tainted and they must be censored. We have the first amendment in this country for a reason. We can listen to who we wish to, whether that be a Russian or an international company like yours full of foreign voices. Its IMPORTANT Americans take in information from all over the world, we are a global hegemony; how our people, especially our presidential candidates act in other parts of the world is IMPORTANT. So foreign influence will ALWAYS be an aspect of our campaigns, always. As long as its left up to Americans to decide, after reviewing all the information, its fine.

The only danger here are the people who want to attack that last part, who want to control what information Americans can see, who want to censor and have the power to do so. Because objectivity requires communication, it requires people to verify their beliefs about what they measure or test the veracity of with another point of observation. The person who shuts our ability to do that, who robs us of the ability to verify and form those more objective opinions can dictate what truth is. Because, as Orwell said, 2+2 can equal 5 if the only verification of what big tech provides exists only in our mind. If we can’t freely share information, then your ministry of truth, your “trust and safety”, gets to dictate reality. No thank you.

You’re right to fear us catching on. You’re right to fear the political and social back lash against your control. Shame on you for even attempting it.

Oh, also YouTube has taken the video down.

There's backup of the vid already.

Here's a backup of the Medium post:

Medium said:
This is not how I expected Monday to go!

I’ve spent the last 12 hours travelling back from Dublin to San Francisco, unaware of what was happening on the ground. When I touched down today, and I turned on my phone, I received the shock of my life. I had received an enormous collection of threatening calls, voicemails, text messages and emails, from people I’d never met.

Someone wrote “Your ideology will be shredded to pieces, just moments before you got executed for treason…you are living lended time, enjoy till then”. There were plenty more threats like this. I’ve never been so fearful.

So why did this happen?

In late May, I accepted an invitation to meet with a few people who claimed to be from “2 Step Tech Solutions”. They said they wanted to chat to me about a mentoring program for young women of color in tech, an area I’ve long been passionate about. We went for dinner at a restaurant in the Mission, San Francisco.

Unfortunately, I now know that these people lied about their true identities, filmed me without my consent, selectively edited and spliced the video to distort my words and the actions of my employer, and published it widely online. I now know they belong to a group called “Project Veritas”, which has done this to numerous other people working in the tech and other sectors.

Why did they do this to me? It seems they found that I had spoken publicly at Google I/O on Ethics, and they wanted someone who would give them juicy soundbites about tech’s alleged bias against conservatives. Over the course of a two hour dinner, I guess they think I delivered.

Project Veritas has edited the video to make it seem that I am a powerful executive who was confirming that Google is working to alter the 2020 election. On both counts, this is absolute, unadulterated nonsense, of course. In a casual restaurant setting, I was explaining how Google’s Trust and Safety team (a team I used to work on) is working to help prevent the types of online foreign interference that happened in 2016. Google has been very public about the work that our teams have done since 2016 on this, so it’s hardly a revelation.

The video then goes on to stitch together a series of debunked conspiracy theories about our search results, and our other products. Google has repeatedly been clear that it works to be a trustworthy source of information, without regard to political viewpoint. In fact, Google has no notion of political ideology in its rankings. And everything I have seen backs this up. Our CEO has said ”We do not bias our products to favor any political agenda.” He’s somewhat more powerful and authoritative than me.

But despite what the video may have you believe, I’m not involved in any of these products, just like I’m not involved in any of the other topics Project Veritas baited me into discussing (whether it’s antitrust, Congress, or the dozens of other topics that didn’t appear in the video, on which I presumably didn’t say anything that could be twisted to their advantage). I was having a casual chat with someone at a restaurant and used some imprecise language. Project Veritas got me. Well done.

I don’t expect this post will do anything to deter, or convince, the people who are sending me abusive messages. In fact, it will probably encourage them, give them oxygen and amplify their theories.

But maybe a few people will read it and realize that I’m not the cartoon cut-out villain that Project Veritas would have you believe.

Maybe someone will read it, be more skeptical about a dinner they’re invited to, and avoid the same trap I fell into.

And maybe some people will take a pause and reflect on how toxic and menacing our online discourse has become, about how quick we are to believe the worst of each other, and think about the human cost of demonizing and doxxing people, the way that Project Veritas has done to me.

Though, fear not conservatives, I think an important factor in Trump getting elected was that flood of videos and spam ads encouraging people to get out and vote and also linking them with precise instructions for how to vote. Those videos tried as hard as possible to be unbiased, and it appears it kind of worked in exactly the opposite way Google intended. If Google tries to meddle in the election again and is inept as last time, Trump is going to win a third term.
Trump barely won. He won basically through a combination of his opponent was also a shitty person, that shitty person was just assumed to be the winner, and the electoral college is in place to prevent majority rule. I've said in another thread that these people will learn from their "mistake" and these videos prove it. Those things that helped Trump the first time, in reverse, could be his downfall; Dems run somebody that isn't Hillary level shit, complacent voters who hate Trump that stayed home the last time come out in droves, and Google doing their best just to push the needle just enough to flip districts blue.
How long till all those affiliated with Project Veritas are not only completely shadow banned/blacklisted but also removed from social media?
How long until something even worse happens? How many strings can Google pull to silence the people involved with Project Veritas in real life? If people think it's their moral obligation to shape society to their ideals for the betterment of humanity, what lengths would they go to to crush individuals that get in their way?
But lets be real. Democrats will defend this and Trump and the Republicans won't do shit. This will continue to happen. Its already obvious to anyone with half a fucking brain Google, Facebook and Twitter have been constantly violating 203 for ages now.
Maybe I'm being naïvely being optimistic, but if there is one thing politicians care about more than anything else, it's to be reelected. Republicans hopefully will see that these tech companies are out to hurt their career. That should be a great motivator. And they are coming after Trump specifically, and he hates that shit.
Everyone's thinking about Trump's re-election attempt, but I can't imagine how fucked this country will be 4 years after, no matter whether he is re-elected or not.

All of these people and companies are going to drastic measures to fight one man and his supporters/anyone who isn't on their side, yet, when the smoke clears, everyone will see them as the corrupt fucks they are. Then, where does this country go from there?
They don't think beyond two year intervals, really, and definitely don't think beyond the next Presidential election. If Trump loses, they did everything right. If Trump wins, they didn't try hard enough and need to up their efforts. Maybe the government should break them up, but I have a feeling that we're going to see another "too big to fail" argument in the not too distant future.

Well it's been pretty in your face across all MSM media and Mainstream Social Media since the start of the Presidency. And since January-February, since the next election is coming up it seems like they've been pulling out all the stops.

I think they believe the main reason Trump won is because there was too many ways for people to go to alternate sources, and then spread the information from those sources on forums and social media, undermining the official campaign funded MSM media narrative. And they need to correct these oversights, and declare memes hate symbols, and Trump a hate figure or white supremacist, and anyone that has a chance to publicly spread knowledge or debate people openly online as a Nazi that needs to be banned. And the open platforms they use either be pressured to follow these rules, or be blacklisted.

Internet isn't like TV like back in the olden days, people can participate, so they want to get a handle on who can, and who can't. They already obviously manipulate search and trending data, because long have studies shown, propaganda and marketing works. Hillary got 51% of the vote being a lazy shit who collapsed into a van, because she just paid millions and millions to the right people.

Trump would have lost if the left-wing just sat on their asses and didn't sperg out about him. The fact that they tried so hard to defeat him caused interest in him to erupt in the first place. Google and their ilk will never learn from their mistakes, they're going to double down and make TRump into the Second Coming of Christ by the end of this.

Good. I appreciate their help, it's been tremendously useful thus far.

I have a theory that they'd ban some high profile alt right figure like Richard Spencer
But why would they ban Richard Spencer? If they got rid of him who would they point to as an example of a nasty person? Not even David Duke has been deplatformed.

That is true of all the people, but these companies and corporations are smarter and they know how to manipulate. Google didn't necessarily plan for this in the beginning, but we can see that they are now thinking long-term and have enough pull to not give a fuck and state what they plan on doing. They make the idiots who think in the short-term feel empowered, which just assists them in what they plan on doing in the long-term plans. We see this similar pattern with all the companies that are involved with social media.

Other than it's just business as usual for but I noticed how many times this brainlet says like as if she is still a teenager. It's irritating.

It's like she completely forgot about those leaked videos of all those Google employees in an auditorium crying about how awful it was that Trump won the election. Or maybe she thinks everyone else forgot about them.

Fuck Google. The San Andreas Fault can't swallow them whole soon enough.

Dude. I live around Hispanics in NYC, mostly Dominicans. I hide my power level but I must have a rep as the local Nazi girl because several came up to me and whispered in my ear "I voted for Trump fyi" with a conspiratorial smile. As long as the economy is roaring and Democrats keep pushing Tranny Bedtime Stories at the local library with complementary condoms and lube Trump is going to do a Ronald Reagan 1984 2.0.

The issue, for liberals, is most legal immigrants are on board with Trump on the wall and ICE roundups.

Not a single candidate the Dems are pushing is viable to win against Trump. Biden is barely able to wake keep up, Bernie is your grandpappy's communist, Cory Booker can barely hide the boner he gets looking a drag kids, Kamala Harris is an absolute disaster that makes nails ripping against chalkboard sound good, Pocahontas is toast and the POG fag just got his ass handed back to him by niggers in his hometown ON STREAM.

Google is irrelevant to be honest. People don't make decisions on who to vote for based on search results. Deplatforming is way more serious but it's over-reach in this instance. Trump is in and will stay in.

Damn....just listen to the smug in her

So indicative of the progressive mindset; we know best you little shits so you just do as your told cause we're your betters and we know best.

Fuck her and Fuck Google

I don't think it's necessarily true that Trump would have lost without the sperging. Every step of the way, from the moment he came down that escalator to literally election night when they were crying on air because he won, they did not think he had a chance of winning. I think the lesson they learned was too many people on the internet supported Trump and called out the media's bullshit. That's why they blame Russia. It's a convenient excuse. Now any and every "pro-Trump" or anti-left message will be censored in the name of protecting the US from foreign influence. Videos of Google's Head of Propaganda saying they will censor "misinformation" are being censored because Google doesn't want people to think they unjustly censor people. Hopefully the American people see through it. But advertising does have an affect, and Google actively supporting anti-Trump search results, while hiding pro-Trump search results could push the needle enough, and that's what Google is hoping for.

they were crying on air because he won, they did not think he had a chance of winning.

Their total perspective vortex on the subject just made them come off as assholes during the whole thing. Stupid shit like making fun of his name's origin (Drumpf) and the fact that his skin is orange (I guess?) only served to make them look more petty and worthless. I guarentee you a bunch of people turned and voted for him based on the fact that the left-wing media was just so shitty about the whole thing.

I think what offends me the most about Google is it is patently obvious they are not being shitty corporate douchebags to make as much money as possible. Our society has by and large dealt with avaricious corporations and greedy exec's for centuries. In many respects we encourage the practice so long as certain accepted norms are maintained. Like not lying to shareholders about your financials as a huge example.

With Google however we got something different. Unlike your standard multi national mega corporation like say...McDonalds, the goal of the company is not to make money. The money is simply the means towards a larger end. Which is social revolution, and remaking society in the way they desire. In many respects it's a mentality shared by all of big tech. And it's absolutely repugnant.

Companies like Google and other social media giants have also both completely overestimated their own value, and forgotten two very important distinctions: The internet isn't real life, and the Silent Majority exists. They've gone on such a banning purge and censorship spree in the erroneous belief that to suppress an idea means to destroy an idea, but if you ban a Republican from Twitter, you don't wind up with a Democrat, you just have a Republican with no Twitter account and a grudge.

They can smash them down and shut them up and deplatform them all that they like, but all they're doing is strengthening that persons convictions and demonstrating to undecided voters that they're irresponsible and hyper-partisan if they're given a scrap of power, let alone a monsterous entity like Alphabet Inc.

They think that by removing all of these voices from their platforms and white-washing the ever-loving shit out of the "public forum" that they've completely changed the state of the discourse because from their perspective fewer and fewer people are cropping to voice a dissenting opinion, not realizing that all that they've succeeding in doing is creating their own, massive echo-chamber, and turning anyone with even a cursory support of Donald Trump into a border-line zealot because every single one of these people are trying to gun them down at every available opportunity.

Human beings are petty things, and there are few emotions we enjoy more than well-earned spite hurled towards people at the "top of the ladder." All of the advertising and censorship and deplatforming in the world won't save them now because not having more of it was not why they lost in the first place, and their egos are incapable of understanding that they aren't as influential as they believe that they are.

She has responded by claiming that Google has no political bias and everything she said on video was taken completely out of context:

What a load of shit. We've got video footage of Brin addressing the company about Trump's election and how sad he was about it.
