In sad news, the second son of the late Paul Bearer, who wrestled as DJ Pringle and DJ Prophecy, died on Tuesday. He was 39 and the last surviving member of Bearer's immediate family as his mother died in 2009 and brother died in 2014.

I mean, it worked out well for DDP and Batista, but they’re both very much outliers…
His dad is a famous wrestler, though, so he's automatically going to have a bunch of doors open for him. It's not like he's going to have to spend years in the indies trying to get noticed.

Hopefully his attitude is good. Unlike other second/third generation stars that started out with bad attitudes.

Andre was a fat, alcoholic bitch who bullied people with his political pull and took advantage of them in the ring with his size. I'm never impressed when I hear someone made The Giant back down when properly confronted.
To be fair, Bad News was an olympic bronze medalist in Judo. He would've whooped pretty much anyone in that locker room not named Haku in a right

Toujima Wants To Be Kamen Rider ep 21 has a very nice sequence of an MMA gal vs a wrassler starting around four minutes and change

Andre is believed to have ribbed Piper by replacing his cold cream leading to some rather awkward interactions at the airport for ol' Hot Rod.

Are you familiar with the the wrasslin' turned awkward shoot that happened between Andre and Akira Maeda? The more I watch and learn some backstory and understand point of view the less of a stance I take on the initial Akira is a egotistical asshole who would go into business for himself on a whim, yes he was several of those things but when a drunk off his ass giant almost crushes your skull by lying down on you you're gonna think maybe shoot kicking the fuck out of his thigh isn't such a bad idea. That out of the way I'd say his other more notorious shoot incident the time he punt kicked Riki Choshu in the face so hard it damaged his orbital yeah that was fucked.

Because wrestling went from something your hick friends bought tickets for every week to... this.

This whole thing started with genuinely talented, charismatic, strong, local guys effectively pretending to brutalize each other. Now you have people paying an entire car loan to watch CM Punk deliver his toothless mic manifesto. You look at the front row of these events (because there's no one in the back rows at all) and see barely-sapient blobs, chunko pop collectors, people who know everything about Rick and Morty lore, Redditors.

It just sucks. Wrestling used to be trashy entertainment for people who would legitimately attack the heel if given the opportunity. Because of this everyone involved in wrestling had to be able to chew gravel, whether they were big performers or just helping with production. I'm not sure where the gatekeeping failed but I'm not surprised the most edgy thing to go on at these events is "fuck ICE" chants from Disney Adult-looking fatasses.

All of this is going to end with the whales I'm talking about rolling their eyes and continuing to steer the ship into an iceberg.
People seem to say kayfabe and old wrestling died because of Triple H, I don't know have much of that is true but the way he books raw & smackdown...i might be inclined to say they might be right.

EDIT about the CM punk stuff:
CM Punk just never had much athleticism in his body, his pros was that he was good at bitching on the mic like he had a pussy, crying and moaning and saying ill never go back to WWE and their middle east bomber tactics, and went crawling back.

i've been watching his promos since he came back to WWE and man...every episode of Raw this dude is on LOOP, who the fuck is in charge of these dogshit repeated promos?
Imagine paying front row seats to hear CM Fag say the same lines like Cody Rhodes, and this whole mind games mania build is probably the gayest thing since Billy & Chuck

"HAHAA I'm in romans head, the guy that does not care if he has the bloodline helps him because Roman says family is on top and i run things, is mad because i retconned his bloodline story to think he hates having back up to help him!"

Gay as fuck.

I'm mostly tired of modern wrestling fans thinking that storylines need layers of references and insider knowledge in order to have depth. Regardless of where you stand on the topic of how much wrestling has evolved in terms of ringwork, it's evident that its become much less engaging in regards to the stories being told. If you're tuning into a wrestling show for the first time, you should be able to pick up on what's happening IMMEDIATELY, and the best way to do that is by having simple and easy to digest stories that don't require the viewer to look up dozens of shows and promos on YouTube to know the context.

I'll tell you right now, no new viewer needed an explanation for why Paul Orndorff wanted to tear Piper's head off. You watch a match between the two, see Piper constantly cheating and taking cheap shots, and immediately think "this guy's a fucking slimeball. No wonder that blonde guy hates him"

But how else will retarded fans feel special and superior for knowing a "complex" story?

I have long believed that the TNA Impact character Suicide possessed significant untapped potential. The company seemed somewhat resistant to the character's growing popularity, especially considering it was originally created to promote a TNA Impact video game. Ultimately, Suicide's popularity exceeded that of many other characters within the promotion. Had the character been introduced during the Attitude Era, it might have achieved classic status. This situation somewhat echoes WWE's response to Vickie Guerrero's rise to prominence relative to Dolph Ziggler, as Vickie displayed considerable charisma as a heel and demonstrated strong promotional skills. Compared to Dolph Ziggler. Vickie Guerrero was ahead of her time. She had a Karen gimmick before the term Karen was a thing.

Sami Zayn vs Trick Williams for the US title
wouldn't be surprised if someone gets added to that US title match but as of now all 8 on the card are singles
about time the US title match got confirmed, I think they might add Melo to the US title match given Trick screwing him over against Sami, Melo has actually kind of been impressing me lately, at least as far as having generally solid matches on TV, Trick is more of the sports entertainment guy out of the two

partially I do agree, but I do think theres a lot of nuance in that the internet is just retarded so you kind of have to play off fan sentiments at least to some extent, we saw this in 2024 and to some extent 2025 as well and thats why I feel WWE has been solid, obviously not every PLE is a 10/10 but the product id say is far better then 2018-2019 when Vince's dementia got the better of him and the product was just complete slop at that point, I think as far as storylines they should at least be planning generalities of what might happen a few months in advance at least, I will say that much

my wife and I were always very impressed at how much Vickie really had a knack for the business considering how she got involved
iirc didn't she do a shining wizard at one point or something really wtf
