They both have an obese middle aged fan base who buy whatever slop merchandise they put out and rabidly protect them no matter how much they fucking suck now. I will admit, at least ICP are aware of how fucking cringe they are.
To be fair, a big part of that is because ICP brought about this massive community that brought all those weirdos and rejects together. Plus they were hardcore enough for the FBI to consider Juggalos a gang, so they're infinitely more punk rock than CM Punk can ever dream of being.

Edit: Oh, and they did more for wrestling than CM Punk too.

ICP and their fans are extremely self aware of what they are, and they don't give a fuck. That makes them infinitely cooler than most performers or their fan bases. To confidently be able to just say "Yes we're dorks and our fans are dorks and we own it and we're having a good time over here" is badass.
Suing the FBI on behalf of your fans so that they aren't labeled as gang members is more anti establishment than Child Mutilator Punk could ever hope to be.
I remember getting the first stranglemania tape from one of my friends when I was 10 or 11 and I remember laughing my ass off at it and that was the first time I had ever heard of ICP. It wasn't until a few years later that I found out that they made music. I thought they were just wrestlers.

This guy knows that Trump got inducted before he even thought about running for president in 2016 right?

I like his Luso-Germanic Minnesotan-accent but as much as Trump is probably more of a gooner then Vince is (at least Vince's case its all adult women as far as we know) but I don't believe it, im just too burnt out of this goyslop society
Not a fan of Trump, but you honestly can't deny his contributions to pro wrestling. His letting McMahon use his venues for the early Wrestlemanias helped a ton.

There's nothing wrong with him being in a hall of fame (now put Benoit in next, you cowards.)
thats true Trump liked McMahon enough to let him rent out venues after Mania 3, Benoit shouldn't be in though (I mean murder is the only worse crime then Child Rape)

I always hate listening to Chris Jericho trying to rationalize why people should still love Chris Benoit. Fuck you, Jericho. He was a family annihilator. If he fucked his kid would you still be sitting there saying "Well, he only did it once, so we should still respect his contribution to wrestling."
Fuck him, I'm glad he's burning in hell, and I hope that baby killer is never in anybody's hall of fame.
If Owen Hart still can't get in, that piece of shit should be banned forever. Stop being a bitch, Martha. Even Bret wants him in the hof.

Benoit was an utter piece of shit but there are still people working in the business today that knew something was wrong with him at the time who said fuck all until after he snapped.

Same thing happens with any athlete with CTE.
You also have people still pushing the conspiracy theory that he didn't do it.

Even putting aside the murders, the older I get, the less admiration I have for pro wrestlers like Benoit who destroyed their bodies pushing the boundaries of their art. As respected as they are, and as much as I've enjoyed their performances, it's hard for me to think of people like Harley Race, Misawa, the Dynamite Kid, or Foley as among the greatest of all time. If the art of pro wrestling is pretending to hurt and be hurt while staying safe, then they are all notable failures. I don't like wrestlers who are boring, albeit safe, either, but my estimation for the Bret Harts who were able to stay safe while entertaining me has gone up. Benoit would be a gibbering idiot and a terrible representative of pro wrestling were he still alive.

Kid, Benoit and Race probably would have been fine if they didn't jump off the top rope and land on their fucking head 200 times a year.

Guys like Tito Santana and Greg Valentine were very good in the ring, and they're also alive and healthy.

Just realized tomorrow is the 25th anniversary of the last Monday Nitro and take a guess as to who the referee for that last match was? Yup it was lil' Naitch, now mind you this wasn't the last WCW televised program they would have one last WCW Worldwide a few days later.

The "softball lol" jokes would always follow Sid during his career, but that time spent playing softball was also time spent with his family, which very few wrestlers in those days were able to make time for. On top of that, he was a big enough name that he could afford to take extended time away and have a top spot waiting for him when he came back.
I think Sid has the same problem as Lex Luger being they were at their best in WCW but people seem to judge their WWF careers only. Sid especially his best stuff was near the end of WCW which people don't think fondly of. Unlike Luger though Sid was WWF champion and main evented multiple Wresltemania's, so no excuse for him to just be known as the softball goof.
