The vision interrupting the Usos gay ass entrance, only to be interrupted by Adam Pearce is the best opening I've seen to Raw in a while.
Oh shit, LA Knight interrupted Pearce
It's like inception of interruptions in this bitch.

That was kind of the point of the old weekly shows. The money was in the PPVs, now its changed to the special event format so the extra wrestling is used to fill up time.
I remember there being much more wrestling on WCW, but then again we only got an hour long version where they trimmed all of the filler out of it.

They did. During the attitude era Bischoff brought in the luchadores and Japanese light weights to open his shows with. They were the spark they would use to bring the audience up after the opening promo was done. It was a great move because the top of the card was very punch kicky and having an undercard that could bring the audience up.

And Bret fucking CARRIED that match. I go back and watch the old WWF attitude era stuff because when I was growing up we didn't have it, we only had WCW.
Looking at it subjectively there was a ton of filler. Triple H would come out with the outlawz and cut a 20 minute long promo before anything happened. The attitude era was an era of nothing but talk until the PPV.

Austin was great, but the neck and knee injuries really derailed him and then Vince's desire to ride that shit into the ground (as he does with everyone -- Hogan, Cena, Roman) just flanderized him.

My favorite bit of WWF was the shit with the Hart Foundation and the 'gang warfare' shit. Things hadn't gotten too trash TV-y (though there were elements of it) and it felt like anything could happen. You had guys teaming up not because they were buddies or in the same faction or whatever but because they just fucking hated Bret.

something seems off about the elimination chamber match, I can't see them giving the win to Cody, they would have the foresight to know that shoving a Drew vs Cody 4 match down our throats at WrestleMania would cause backlash, the next qualifying match is Melo vs Trick vs Damian Priest
Jacob Fatu should have won the qualifier and then be the Elimination Chamber winner to get the title shot against Drew. Fatu is such a great fit for the EC it's ridiculous not to have him in there. It's just WWE being extremely safe by having Cody win the EC (looking at the rest of the names, nobody else makes sense to win), then through whatever excuse they come up with in the story they'll add Fatu to make it a triple threat at Mania.

Not at all. They wanted the big win at WK to make headlines.

He wasn't squashed at NB, he was beaten by four guys ganging up on him. It doesn't lessen his momentum but it does allow him to learn lower down the card and be protected. Unless they're gearing up to give him a run at a bigger prize, he'll probably lose in similar fashion at the New Japan Cup where he has Fale in the first round.

He had a big moment to bring in casuals. Now he's going to learn how to be really good at pro wrestling for when they move him to the top of the card again.

The show was pretty solid over all. The tag title match was fanastic, just like the division has been since the KOB made their return. Newman looks like a star. Jake Lee? Meh. But it gave Tsuji his first defence.

The highlight was Hiromu's in ring goodbye with Unbound Co and Yuto-Ice is looking away from the cameras during it. I'm guessing he's disgusted by this and KOB are ready to turn on the group. He finally turns around and it's revealed why he's been looking away. Dude was bawling his eyes out and trying to hide it. He has the most charisma of any of the YL graduates post-pandemic and it's not close.
I get that Wolf wasn't squashed in kayfabe, but just the announcement of him being at shows draws alot of ticket sales. I'm not saying he's going to be the be all end all of Nooj, but I'm just saying they should be very careful booking him. I've seen a bunch of translated posts from Japanese normies basically calling New Japan retarded and that they won't watch anymore after the Narita match.

If it were me, I'd have Aaron Wolf in a tag team with a veteran were he can get the hot tag and pop from the crowd while he's still green. That way he doesn't have to lose singles matches and he can still learn without being exposed. Or make him a Goldberg type, those are only their only two options right now in my opinion. They may have potentially killed off all his heat as it is.

Rest of the card was good, KOB are awesome and the main event was fine, don't let Meltzer tell you otherwise. I'm mostly up on NJPW, they've been my favorite company for a while, but sometimes they really seem to shoot themselves in the foot when the right booking is staring them right in the face.

All 3 of those guys existed in a period in WWE when the weekly shows were 75% rambling promos to build up the next PPV and they could talk so Vince loved it.

Not a single one of them had a memorable match other than maybe that one match Stone Cold had with Bret.
Taker could never cut a good promo.

I love Undertaker overall, but there is a reason he was paired up with Paul Bearer half of the time. Remember his amazing rambling desert promo with The Big Show, that's unfiltered Undertaker. Or just see how "charismatic" he is on his podcast.

I knew someone was going to bring up the desert promo when I wrote that reply.

He's my favorite wrestler of all time even if his promo game was below average. Even those small 2 or 3 sentence ones he would do on later Wrestlemania opponents were shit. His appearance spoke better than his mouth.

Taker's promos were better when he was playing his specific roles as a dead mortician guy and cult leader. Soon as Mark Calloway came out he started batting 1.000 in stinkers on the mic. Btw I hated his American Badass character. That has nothing to do with the subject at hand but I needed to get that off my chest.

WB did bring up a good point in a non-MNW video I watched recently though. Smarks love that Stan Hansen and Vader were stiff, but when it's Warrior or Goldberg doing it, it somehow becomes bad. Stiff is stiff.

Stan Hansen and Vader could work, and sell if you returned the favor. Reminder Vader's had his eye knocked out of his head in a wrestling match and popped it back in. Warrior and Goldberg were stiff because they were green as grass (Goldberg), or had no respect for the business beyond the paycheck (Warrior).
What about Bruiser Brody?
Bob Sapp was awesome and was pretty much what Ahmed Johnson could've been.
I am not sure Ahmed could make an album in Japan. Maybe he could appear on J-dramas. Also if WCW lived, Wrestlecrap/FAN forums will have lots of photoshop threads dedicated to the Sapp.

Holy shit Raw started out so strong with that first segment and then just fell off a fucking cliff. They gave me another reason to hate Vaquer and her title reign, apparently she's abandoning the English language and will do all of her promos in roach coach waitress now.
It also didn't help that immediately after 5 minutes of Stephanie speaking in gibberish, the next fucking segment after that was Asuka speaking in different gibberish for 5 minutes. If these idiots aren't going to work on the native language of what 90% of the fans speak then at least break apart the segments. Fuck me dead that was annoying.
It was a PRE TAPED INTERVIEW. They came out and said it was pre taped so why didn't they put subtitles? Fucking retards. AJ Lee is old and gross and I laughed my ass off because they're trying to say that Chicago is her hometown now. Apparently you marry into your hometown when you're a woman. They are hyping this match against Becky but I've got to tell you I don't give a fuck about it.
If I would have had previous knowledge of what was going to take place on this show I only would have watched The opening match and the women's qualifier because that second Asuka lock that she rolled Bayley into was cool.
EDIT: I almost forgot there was another segment that made me brain dead from stupidity. Child Molester Punk fucking bitched out Finn Balor in the middle of the ring. I get what they're trying to do by splitting him up from the judgment day, but there is a huge difference between three of you jumping a guy and letting a guy smack you in the chest with a microphone in front of a crowd of people.
Finn just stood there and took it like a bitch. At least throw your own mic back at him. I'm getting sick of punk's booking because it's unbelievable. They showed him backstage with his wife and he looked blown up and red. It's like Jesus Christ what is he overdosing on niacin every Monday? I know it won't happen but please Finn, take the goddamn title off of him.

Not sure why they didn't include the translation for the live show since we were told the interview took place earlier in the day.

Nice to se Good Ol' Punky, slowly creeping out. He's getting comfortable and complacent again, and doing the "I'm putting X over by beating him and embarassing them" shit he did when starting out in AEW.
