Fans, including myself considered her the top female promo of her entire era with nobody else even slightly close.

The company considered her good enough to consistently have her involved in main event male stories. Punk. Bryan. Cena. Ziggler. WWE title. WHC. Literally she was a manager or love interest in those stories for years. Then got the longest Divas title run up to that point where she carried all those feuds with the promos.

The company considered her good enough to be the GM of RAW doing promos every show.

It’s not the same level because he’s a top worker all time but it’s a good example. AJ Lee coming back and cutting a shitter promo is her version of HBK having a bad match in Saudi. You watch and go “oh… oh… oh no. Oh she ain’t have it anymore. What she had she lost long ago. Please end. PLEASE END.”

That wasn't AJ Lee. That was April Mendez. Few things get me less excited for a wrestler than when they start talking about therapy and mental health in their real personal life. I know that's been her shtick since leaving WWE a decade ago, but she could have at least tried to integrate it into the story of why she came back.
 
AJ is the just the good looking popular girl who bought a couple of T-shirts at Hot Topic and constantly uses "mental health" as an excuse to why she's an utter cunt.

Is that the gimmick?

Isn't that the reason Nia Jax's momentum was killed in the first place? I remember her having a feud with Alexa Bliss because she was bullying her for being a fatass and she took those insults to heart according to storyline.

Because that's what I want about monster heels, see them crying when a skinny person that they could easily break like a stick says mean words to them. I remember it precisely for being the storyline that killed any credibility that Nia might had at that point.

Cody Rhodes is literally the stereotypical American character from any given anime that has an American in it.
He is literally the “Be the American the Japanese think you are.”

To me it’s the perfect casting.



As for AJ Lee, her return is one of exactly two times I’ve ever popped for a Diva. The other was my chocolate queen Jade Cargill’s debut at the 2024 Rumble.
All that build up and good will to literally throw it down the drain with a, as perfectly described before, Anisa Johma level promo.
I don’t wanna hear you fuckers say anything about Becky or my double extra super Thicc Latina queen Bayley ever again.

FIFY. I'm tired of having to hear about the "mental struggles" of people who wouldn't give the courtesy of pissing on me if I was on fire. At least Dusty talked about actual hard times, not just being sadder than usual.

Nah she was getting over organically leading to Summerslam 2018, cause everyone was on the "I really hate this lol Charlotte wins again?" bandwagon and the promos in the lead up to the show were setting her up as a sympathetic babyface up against the bosses favourite.

The second she bodies Charlotte after their match was the moment she was way over, the pop was a monster. Like when she was hugging Charlotte the boos were ringing out, then the slap the crowd comes unglued.


Im pretty sure there are "you deserve it chants" she beats down Charlotte and Charlotte is crying in the ring


As for Raw, heel Jay could be refreshing, hopefully it doesnt lead to another "Usos fight each other" match as the first was shit.

I'm really wanting LA Knight to get the big belt at least once he completely deserves it.

Asuka being unhinged is enjoyable and her screaming "KAIRI" gets a chuckle from me.

AJ lee segment was a bit pants as she was a bit all over the place and I dont really care about the match set up.

Americano is still great, but where the fuck are the Creeds? They need to get Kurt Angle in to manage them or something while gable is out of action.
AJ Styles segment was weird, im not sure the angle they are going with it, and they seem to be trying another dragon lee push with it and Americano

Penta seems to be languishing as well, hes still over but dunno what they are doing with him. And I dont know where they are going with Rusev either.

Kairi being the good-natured lackey to Asuka is a neat storyline that I hope doesn't end abruptly because someone online compares it to an abusive relationship.

With Liv getting injured, Dominik should have dropped the IC belt to Penta so that he could defend against the likes of Rusev or even Finn to further tease the fallout between Finn and Dom.

I thought the reason Nia Jax lost momentum was that she broke Becky Lynch’s nose and took her out of Survivor Series, which cemented her as having a reputation of being reckless and dangerous in the ring. And there’s no coming back from that.
 
if the AJ Styles promo leads to return 484839384939 for Gallows and Anderson to a wrestling company just put Gallows and Anderson in all the Hall of Fames already. There's no way they're that funny backstage that this many companies feels a need to have them around this much. It has to be leading literally anywhere else.

Maybe backstage it changed things for her (even though she went on to hurt/injure people at least 5 more times after that, half of those being on Kairi), but making her a crying babyface right before the Alexa match already dropped her value as a character. Especially when she just turned heel again like 2 weeks after and did a fat load of nothing until punching Becky, then nothing again until that time she fell on her ass and screamed "my hole!".

It’s one of the funniest videos I’ve seen in awhile. Mike looks like he got caught having fun and is trying to cover it up the best he can. He looks so modified that it feels like it came from one of their video reviews.
