Gunther vs Punk is now the Main Event of Night 1, this definitely puts my previous Gunther wins prediction in doubt now, while I do feel Punk doesn't particularly need the belt at this point in his career and Gunther being a strong heel Champion on RAW until WrestleMania would be what I would do if I was Triple H, I still wouldn't feel particularly upset if Punk did pull it off
Another option is that Punk wins and has a short run only to lose it to Gunther when it's closer to WrestleMania like December/January.

I strongly doubt it, Xitter is saying that but I honestly think that they would have had Roman and Seth go 1-on-1 if that was the case and never have done an injury angle, its just too marketable given Seth's and Roman's kayfabe hatred for each other
Yeah maybe

I think it could totally work for him to do it injured though. Breakker and Reed do all the physicality and Rollins does nothing but put one foot on him to win

It makes people mad that punk lost but also that it kinda ruins the match. Maybe it’s me, it just feels lame if Punk finally wins the title again and it’s just Gunther he beats

Watched a couple episodes of Unreal and I sort of get why they're going the way they are going. Kayfabe is essentially dead, so with this "documentary" style they can do two things, one is to legitimize the business as an artform like acting, secondly to get that parasocial audience to increase and become even more hooked, it usually happens with reality tv shows. They've been going with the 'bleed the niche audience dry' strategy anyway so it lines up with that too. Unfortunately as a consequence it is now certain that there will be no more stars in the future, just like in hollywood. Everybody will be a fucking influencer, not that a lot of them weren't already but a few people like roman kept themselves a scarce commodity by not prostituting themselves on social media, now that probably won't happen. In addition to that you can also do worked shoots, which isn't a bad idea if you ask me. But despite all that, the production is good, I quite enjoyed it.
Now speaking of Bron and his talent or lack thereof. He's 27, some of you guys forget that big poppa pump wasn't really a thing until what? His mid 30s? He's amazing for his age, has a great look and again for his age can talk. Have reasonable expectations. You're only as good as your opponent so how much you can learn in nxt is very limited, let the man learn and grow a bit more, he obviously has potential. Now that he's almost in the main event territory I believe he'll do great in a few years' time. People don't just start out great, there's a reason most of the main event talent right now are between 35-40, as has always been the case, even austin was that age when he got over.

Dunno if it's been talked about yet but there's some Federal lawsuit against AEW and Jon Moxley by some former production crew member who got hurt during a match about two years ago and now the court is forcing AEW to go public about who owns it or else it gets sent back to the state.

I think it's been brought up before and the general consensus with both AEW and WWE talent was that the cameraman needs to man the fuck up because being involved with the wrestling business means you occasionally get knocked on your ass when you aren't expecting it. It's not like Mox kicked the shit out of him or anything.

This is probably on AEW for hiring utter fucking pussies for their production side of things so they'll most likely pay this dipshit off and he'll need to find a new career.

Watched the ten bell salute for Hogan today. Watching Jimmy Hart fighting to keep himself together tore me up inside. The bad part of aging as well as he does is that it unfortunately increases the odds of you aging out your closest friends.

Ron! has become less of a putz for his handling of Hogan's passing

hahaha holy shit that's hilarious
As a Floridian I will be taking the day off work and honoring Hulk Hogan
I'm probably gonna dig up my (wife's) HULKSTER shirt they gave her at a WCW taping back in the day\
Kross is dimes. He should be in the place on the card where Zayn and Priest are.
he's very solid at basic "GRR I am a bad guy GRR" midcard heel stuff
he'd be best in a non-English speaking joint as Evil American or as a flunky in a stable

its been mentioned, the guy was handling heavy equipment and Moxley just pushed him out of nowhere without warning, they should of just had some trainee act as fake camera man if they wanted to do a spot like that, hopefully the guy gets as much money out of them as possible I would have done the same thing, also with them being ordered to disclose their exact ownership figures by the judge I can't imagine Tony is taking that well

AEW has announced 3 matches now for Forbidden door with Zero NJPW or CMLL participation. Being an AEW partner sounds fucking terrible.
Yes, CMLL is totally distraught over the partnership, considering it has boosted their TV ratings and live gate in Mexico tremendously.

Man, you post some of the most retarded takes in this thread.

Well there's all of those rumors that Meltzer owns at least a small section of AEW so I can't imagine this will quell them until it's all revealed. Even then the fact that AEW is owned by a shell company that Tony's Mom owns still doesn't look good for him.

Where in his job description as a cameraman does it say, "oh, and always be prepared to be manhandled by larger men while on the job?" It's not the fucking 80s where hectic fans would draw guns and knives on the top heels. Even during those days, wrestlers had to be mindful of how they responded when they were attacked by fans because they didn't want to get sued for them cracking their head on the concrete after being knocked out. Anyone trying to shit on the camera guy for doing what any rational person would've done is a fucking dullard with no sense of foresight.

yeah this isn't like that ref who threw a spaz about LA Park smacking him in the butt with a water bottle

Nah, there was zero reason for that spot and the camera man had no idea it was coming. He was preoccupied with holding a heavy piece of camera equipment and doing his job. AEW deserves to get sued for that shit and I hope he gets a lot of money from Tony.

I don't buy the rumors of Meltzer owning a part of AEW but it would be hilarious

I was just thinking about how many people Jimmy managed that are dead and how even in the 80's at his peak his body count was at 2 (Adrian Adonis and Andy Kaufman)

Man you are a legitimate retard sometimes, its not his job to tough it out, if Moxley wants to be a tough guy so bad he can ask for a jobber to hold a camera. Its an old guy who's a cameraman who doesn't know how to take a bump with a lot of weight on him. Will he just somehow through divine intervention learn how to do that? People get injured by slipping in the bathroom, this guy was actively shoved when he didn't expect it, as he shouldn't have. Also tony didn't hire him as far as I know he's from a third party production crew, even more of a reason why Moxley and you are mouth breathing knuckle draggers and why he will not only get paid, he will also continue to work as long as he wants to.
