As far as I know she was on good terms with the elder Harts until their passing. Things did sour between Martha and Bret eventually because Bret was all 'muh legacy', which, honestly, I think was mostly bullshit and mostly rationalizing him chasing a payday (his relationship with Vince is really fucking complicated as he was kinda a father figure that he didn't really have with Empty Headed Stu. But also, the whole whinging about his legacy is kinda stupid because everyone knows Bret's contributions and a single DVD smear piece wouldn't have changed that.)

I say that because Bret is still trying to make money -- there's a restaurant that opened up in a casino that is basically a museum of his career. All of his belts are on display, plus some of his gear and other things.
Not to mention that Bret would have not gotten his HoF 2006 induction and a "proper exit" from WWE by beating Vinnie Mac in the ring had he still sided with Martha up to now.
To add onto the post I made to Trolli, Stu/Helen got a couple million, $10M went to establishing the Owen Hart Foundation (which has done a lot of great charitable work in/around Calgary) and a chunk of the settlement money went to ensuring her kids would be taken care of.
Got to hand it to Martha and her son Oje, they've been doing this charity work for almost 25 years......not just in Calgary, they've also did some charity work in other countries as well.

Her barring Bret from seeing his Nephew and Niece is still a shitty move no matter what kind of justification she makes. Owen was his brother who he grew up with, she chose to marry him, and from what I have heard their marriage was a rocky relationship before Owen died.
Yeah I'm not really arguing that and Bret made a salient point in an interview: she met Owen at one of the Stampede Wrestling shows waaay back when. Which means she was attending those shows and was a wrestling fan.

I just don't really agree with the idea that she was a money grubbing parasite or whatever. She didn't have to include all the Harts in the wrongful death suit and she didn't have to do a lot of the shit she's done over the years. She took a really shitty incident (Owen's death) and turned it into something good (a foundation that does charitable work.)

Any of the familial shit between her and the Hart family I just tick off carnies being carnies.

So it's basically like any other charity except it has a wrestler's name attached to it. To be honest I could go on about how these charities giving all of this aid to Africa hasn't helped the continent at all and it's actively made things worse there while wasting people's money, but this is the wrestling thread not the Charity thread.

IWC Zoomers thinking Seth's injury is a work, some of these people could even warrant a thread in Community Watch lmao, otherwise people were pretty split down the middle between Cena vs Cody, but I was surprised to see how many people were predicting a Punk win against Gunther, guess Casuals generally assume Punk wins before every PPV match he's in

Wrestletuber Mongo Slade is hosting a benefit stream. His Girlfriend has colon cancer & mostly been funding treatment for a few months. He's a based negro in a rough time.

What's the point if forbidden door there's no crossover?
Forbidden Door? More like Closed Door lmao
don't need the crossover when you already signed all the guys you want lol. Okada is on the card just as an AEW guy and Tony could add Ibushi and Shibata and Ishii on his own. He basically has full access to everyone from NJPW he wants, when NJPW comes to him and is like well our up and coming guys now are Ren Narita and Yota Tsuji and we think you could do something with Yuya and we have Shota Umino and Tony probably is thinking who the honest to god fuck are any of the people who just got mentioned because Dave doesn't prop any of them or this era of NJPW up so Tony likely doesn't know what the fuck to do.

I don't agree with some of the stuff she has done. But if you're looking for someone who is in complete total alignment with your worldviews you're gonna go through life disappointed.

The Owen Hart Foundation has helped out people I know and has benefited the city of Calgary. It's not just a nebulous 'help Africa' charity. Some of the other shit, like playing socialite, insisting on having "Dr" on virtually every communication, or sending aid to the bottomless pit known as Africa? Eh.

Bottom line is more good came out of Owen's death through her efforts than a ten bell salute from WWE and crocodile tears from guys like Triple H. I can't really be angry over that.

AEW has damaged NJPW and Stardom was cautious about trying to avoid having the same thing happen to them considering how poorly the AEW/ROH women are usually booked.

Hopefully the injury causes his heel stable with Heyman and Bronn to slow down from going completely stale. I would only want to beat Punk to beat Gunther because it will piss off a lot of Reddit AEW fans otherwise the title will be done if Gunther holds it longer. Hopefully Gunther doesn't end up having to flip/flop it more with the Usos.

It’s a work

Punk will almost win, reed and breakker will beat him up and Rollins cashes in (or cashes In first to make it a triple threat)

Even if it’s not a work, he will do it. He can either hold it while injured or give it up on raw.

Punk still doesn’t get the title, rollins gets to laugh, everyone is mad. It works

AEW has announced 3 matches now for Forbidden door with Zero NJPW or CMLL participation. Being an AEW partner sounds fucking terrible.

Forbidden Door made sense before AEW just straight up poached all of the big names from NJPW. CMLL are being cagey as fuck about who they let work AEW shows and to be honest, a lot of their guys are nobodies in the States anyway because Lucha exists in its own world.

AAA being owned by WWE and TNA having a working relationship with them limits AEW a lot. The only real crossover stuff worth a shit now is TJPW and Stardom and they know that TK will just yoink any of their girls who the US crowds show any interest in. An ideal match for Forbidden Door would be Mercedes v. Saya Kamitani but I'd imagine the brass in Stardom knows that the end result would be that they'd end up losing Saya once her contract came up.

Gunther vs Punk is now the Main Event of Night 1, this definitely puts my previous Gunther wins prediction in doubt now, while I do feel Punk doesn't particularly need the belt at this point in his career and Gunther being a strong heel Champion on RAW until WrestleMania would be what I would do if I was Triple H, I still wouldn't feel particularly upset if Punk did pull it off
It’s a work
I strongly doubt it, Xitter is saying that but I honestly think that they would have had Roman and Seth go 1-on-1 if that was the case and never have done an injury angle, its just too marketable given Seth's and Roman's kayfabe hatred for each other
