Athena is one of the low-key success stories post WWE. She looked like shit when she signed with AEW initially, i still maintain that she was going through some sort of breakdown/substance issue. Fat as fuck and just dogshit in the ring despite having been previously fairly handy.

They put her on RoH shows so she was only working pre-tapes and live events every couple of months and it seemed to give her space to get herself right. She is now legit one of the best overall womens wrestlers at the moment and has built a following based on ability. AEW are going to have a hard time keeping her once her deal is up.

Billie getting signed fulltime to AEW before she even finished high school shows the level of talent she is. There's girls in the business for a decade plus that don't have the in-ring confidence or skill she already has. She has the same un-teachable thing that Nick Wayne has. This all comes natural to them.

Terry Bollea was certainly a piece of shit. There's really no getting around that. He was great to his fans but he was a greedy narcissist who ended up screwing promotions (WCW, TNA) because he couldn't handle anyone else having the limelight. Now, I can't really blame him because who doesn't want more money, but at the same time, obviously people aren't going to be fans of that.

The racist stuff was pretty fucked up. I know Kiwi Farmers generally don't care because a lot of you folks are racist as fuck due to being terminally online, but it was pretty fucked. He didn't even apologize but instead gave the "don't get caught" speech instead.

That being said, he was not even close to being the worst person to be a wrestler ever. He never murdered anyone (Snuka, Benoit, Haynes, etc) and has never been accused of rape (too many to mention) or diddling kids (again, too many to mention). I doubt he's even in the top 100 of shittiest people in wrestling. It's a carny business that attracts a ton of low lives.
