Ah, the legendary and infamous DVDVR Sleaze thread. There was allegedly so much wild and crazy shit in there.

Tony Khan's DVDVR Sleaze thread.

speaking of forums, i recently went on WrestlingForum, and holy shit its gotten even worse with being a pro-AEW neckbeard smarkfest, they just shit on anything WWE does, they act as if Vince is somehow still booking it.
They all also seem to be under the delusion that AEW never left 2020 in terms of hot storylines and overall investment. It's almost to the point where I honestly can't tell if they care about the long term success of the company, just so long as they get to see their stupid "dream matches." TNA marks were roundly mocked, but their love for the company was genuine, and seeing their favorite wrestlers losing steam and being derailed by shitty gimmicks and braindead booking was like a dagger in the heart for them. You put Flair-AJ Styles, Hogan Worshipper Abyss, and Penis Tattoo Samoa Joe in AEW, and they'd be like "aw yeah, Tony's REALLY cooking now!"

Von Erich and the cat: I looked into this one a bit. The original story was that Von Erich saw a cat backstage at the Sportatorium and threw a sawblade at it, killing it. Another version has him picking it up and slamming it on the ground. I am going with fake because I don't think you could throw a sawblade well enough to kill a cat and good luck picking up a cat. However, the sportatorium did have a rat infestation and they did bring in cats to kill the rats (supposedly, according to I think it was Cornette). However, Chris Adams's widow said that he told her that Kevin Von Erich hated cats, although Kevin denies this and claims to even have pet cats. So on this one it's plausible, but seems pretty far-fetched in the method used to kill the cat so I am going with fake.

Steve Lombardi and Pat Patterson: Lombardi is supposedly straight but it's possible that Patterson made him put out in order to keep him on the roster since he somehow was a jobber who had a spot on the roster for as long as he did. On commentary once, Gorilla Monsoon said that Patterson "Spent a lot of time with this younger" (in reference to Brooklyn Brawler). I am going with true in that he was basically fucking Pat to keep a job.

Table story: Seems so ridiculous that it might be true but I have no fucking idea.

Bruce Hart being a chomo: This is true.

Dusty firing Baby Doll for marrying Sam Houston: I am going with false. Babydoll says she was fired because Sam Houston went to WWF. According to Larry Zbysko, she was fired because she was once supposed to give Dusty a passionate kiss in an angle but she refused since she was with Sam and it looked bad on screen. Since both stories contradict this and she was with Sam way before she was fired, I am going with false.

Baba: No idea, don't care about japanese wrestling

Victor Quinones: No idea, don't know who he is

Chris Champion: He has allegations about it, there were witnesses and he was arrested for it, so I am going with true: https://www.newspapers.com/article/evansville-press/136310393/

El Dandy: Lita part, probably true. Lita had a boyfriend who liked wrestling. She hated it until she saw Mysterio wrestling and loved his high flying moves. She then dumped him and moved to Mexico, with basically no money, and started training under El Dandy. Sex for training happens all the time in wrestling and MMA to this day, and was even more common back then and especially in Mexico. As for Fishman's daughter (and I also have read wife, too), I have found absolutely nothing corroborating this story. I did find one internet thread, from 2004, where they mention an interview with a "Chris" where he says 16 and then says she was actually 20 (https://the-w.com/raw-workrate-report-8-24-04) which was quoted by Jose Fernandez. So I have no idea, but going with false since you'd think it'd be mentioned a lot more if true. Most searches just bring up "Who are you to doubt el dandy?" jokes

Sorry for double post but it's a different list of sleaze.
Liger: No clue, don't care
Bagwell: Very well could be true. I was unable to find out anything one way or another, but he was very close to Buff and both of those guys did get Buff his big break. Knowing the wrestling business, it's very plausible. I'd say 50/50 with no evidence
Rockers & GHB: True. Marty and Brutus confirmed it in interviews (could be lying but who the hell would lie about that?)
Wolfie D: No idea. Couldn't find anything on it but not many people care about USWA past 1990 so who knows.
Mae & Moolah: Maybe true. JR said that Moolah was bisexual and she hadn't been connected to a man since the 50s or whatever. Mae Young was never connected with a man. I'm leaning true on this one.
Brian Christopher: Given his substance abuse issues, probably true
Pedro Morales's belt: Rumor has it that he pawned the belt to pay gambling debts because the belt turned up in a pawn shop. It was either stolen or he sold it and if it was stolen, he'd have been entitled to it back, so I am going with true
OMEGA lockerroom: I am going with false. OMEGA was just a backyard indie fed run by the Hardy brothers. I find it hard to believe this shit happened in their indie fed without any evidence, unless someone has heard something I haven't

This new AI is pretty fun

Edge is on record as confirming JBL's bathroom antics, though he neither confirmed or denied the finger up the butthole. I'm guessing Edge just wasn't twinky enough for his tastes.

According to a shoot interview I once watched on YouTube, Tajiri was deathly afraid of getting molested by Victor Quiñones, and during one time he was booked in Puerto Rico, he warned Anarchy (a local wrestler) to be careful, especially since Quiñones had been drinking that evening. Anarchy didn't listen and woke up at like 3am with VQ dry humping him, Viscera-style.

There is a lot of Quiñones in the sleaze thread. Shocker being drugged and then waking up with Victor sucking him off, David Flair waking up with Victor about to jizz on his face etc., etc.

The Heyman thing is 100% true. The ECW guys didn't find out that ECW was dead until they saw Heyman at Raw. The Raven thing is also true, he's a nudist with a huge dong and would hang around naked. Stone Cold once confronted him about it at a WWF show because Stone Cold didn't want Debra seeing him naked lol. Bobby Eaton thing is false since he and Donna were married until she died

It was true
https://youtube.com/watch?v=6fBKV9VXupkWrestling urban legends are more interesting than wrestling itself lol
What is interesting about shoot interviews like this is that they were such a brief phenomenon. I used to talk with a guy who wrote his dissertation in college on shoot interviews and he explained to me how much a a distinct period this was when the wall of kayfabe went down, the stories flooded in, and then it really suddenly ended. You still get guys dropping a story or two occasionally, but every story of the old days (that isn't going to the grave for legal reasons) has been told.

Man I wish I knew how to get ahold of that guy still.

Also I was looking over the stuff Bix was posting from the sleaze thread and I am sure most of those stories were things I read on some list back in the mid to late 90s. I used to look up wrestling stuff on the computer at the library back in the day and there was a website where I remember seeing some of that stuff.

WWE is launching it's own feeder network using existing talents training schools

To be fair Booker's Reality of Wrestling has already been feeding NXT pretty hard. Roxanne Perez is the longest reigning NXT Women's Champ and she was trained in RoW. When Book got her a spot in NXT she went almost straight to TV. Cody's Nightmare Factory is not going as well since the arguably most well known trainee that Cody and QT Marshall have produce is Kidd Bandit. I didn't even know Seethe had a school, but I am certain anyone trained by it is NOT cool.
