Tanahashi had a legendary career, I wish all the best for him and hoping that he does well as NJPW president.

With that being said, he really should've retired the minute he decided that losing to fucking Chase Owens in the G1 Climax was a good idea.

I know that he is really humble and all that, but come on man, have some protection for your image as a legend.

Raw last night was a dud. I ended up turning it off before the main event because I just got bored. Nice to see Viking Warriors back with an improved appearance. The match between Kofi and Bron was pretty good too.

The Miz respect in this threat brings warmth to my icy heart.
Now please rise for the national anthem

NGL didn't like him at first but over the years I grew to respect and appreciate him. As someone who got famous from reality tv the transition and performance from him has been amazing and the fact its 20 years is just a testament to him being a smart worker. I believe he has one injury in 20 years which is wild for someone in wrestling.

Dwayne sees which way the wind is blowing and is now pretending he was always part of Conservative Inc. despite shilling for Biden. This guy is really starting to give the Hulkster a run for his money in the self aggrandizing bullshit genre.

To defend cornette here. Oba Femi has had segments where he didn't speak without an accent.

Similar to this Kofi thing segment

Think his issue is if he doesn't have the accent naturally why put it on like Kofi's jamacian accent before the segment above.

100% agree. Journalist suck and Wrestling Journalist are trash. It's amazing how you can't even come with 3 preloaded questions.
I missed her match at wrestle dream but you could easily ask

1. How do you think your match went and What do you think of Willow as a competitor
2. Mina is currently touring in Japan with Toni what are your feelings on that?
3. Whats next in store for the AEW womans champion. You already are at the top are you looking to add more titles to your run potentially a match with Athena in ROH.

Even Alverez was there and didn't ask shit. If all they wanted was a quote/comment from Tony then all the would need to do is go on twitter say Tony is the greatest and he would likely DM them and they could set it up.
I don't think his accent will affect his overness once hes on the Main Roster, I think if it was that big of a deal they would put him with a manager, a thick accent is not as bad of a problem as not being able to speak English, like when Shinsuke was getting pushed in 2018 Vince refused to put the belt on him and I firmly believe that was one of his reasonings

What that, noted sexual deviant Jim Cornette is defending noted sexual deviant Pat Patterson?
Only thing shocking is that Cornette was once widely considered to be a voice of reason in pro wrestling. One of the big reasons he has a podcast is because there were people begging for it, based on his shoot interview rants from RF video, and well, mainly the kayfabe commentaries interviews. Also, the fact that WWE was run by Vince McMahon, an old man that, while he did figure out the equivalent of an infinite money cheat code in life, he had lost touch with what wrestling fans liked. Vince was also surrounded by yes men, and thus, all Corny had to do is not be retarded himself for a while, and voila. He is practically getting free money via podcasts.

I usually keep away from most american pro wrestling these days and stick to CMLL. But man, the more I think about it, the more I realize that Corny is a lolcow. Probably not quite worthy of a thread here (it'd die soon after getting off the ground, imo). I'll just say this to avoid a wall of text: think back to the days before Cornette and every other wrestling personality had a podcast. Were there even a few cracks showing back then? Not really, as far I can tell. I think there was one odd clip where he shit talked Canada. The clip where he impotently yelled at Santino Marella at a convention was after he already had a podcast, iirc.

Other than that, Cornette was practically worshipped by the hardcore fans.

PS: I hope he thanked Maffew for the Cornette face idea. That was 100% an idea from botchamania.

Fox Sports Mexico aired the last Raw of their current deal last night and immediately followed it up with an AEW clips show hosted by an 11/10 with her knockers half hanging out of her top who too-sweeted her co-host when he showed up to actually host the show.

Mexican TV is fucking bizarre. You'll have the weather or a newscast introduced by some 23 year old who looks like she was created in a lab as the perfect woman and then some dude will show up and actually do the job.

honestly mid-month RAWs and SmackDowns are always kinda meh anyway, I very rarely watch the Weekly TV Live unless its the RAW or SD right after a PPV, Its easier to just catch the important story beats on YouTube afterwards, the actual wrestling happens at the PPV, and honestly im ok with that. most matches that happen on RAW or SmackDown are filler

Who do you guys figure is the most forgettable wrestler? I mean I know the perfect one wouldn't be able to be remembered to be posted here lol, but what's your pick? I was watching a series reliving the monday night wars recently as background noise and heard the name Scott Norton mentioned. I was like, "oh yeah. I forgot that guy existed."

There is something kinda sad to me about a dude who makes it all the way to the WWF or WCW and just never gets over or is even remembered by any of the fans. I'm curious who is the most forgotten, or at least the "least talked about" wrestler. of our era of course. lets say late 1980's to modern time, I'm sure there are thousands of them from the 50's thru to the 70's that are less than forgotten.

He's not forgotten now (thanks to his mid 90's run in the WWF) but for me, it would be Bob Backlund. He was WWF champion for almost 6 years straight, and when he came back to the WWF in 1992, other than relative oldsters like me (who were in their late teens, or early 20s at the time, lol) the collective reaction from then WWF fans were "who the fuck is this guy". When he wrestled his first matches, the tepid response from fans made me kind of sad, being a huge Backlund mark. The WWF spent the previous 8 years barely acknowledging his existence (he appeared in a couple of WWF videos, but never a single mention on TV since he left in summer of 84). Bob hadn't helped his cause by basically dissappearing after his failed Pro Wresling USA stint in '85. He didn't want to uproot his family from Connecticut to make runs in JCP or the AWA. The WWF fans at the time at least seemed to vaguely know who Bruno Sammartino and Superstar Billy Graham were, but ol' Bob was a completely forgotten man. Thankfully, he fixed that, lol.

The most forgettable wrestler from the late 1980s to modern times? There is a good chance it would be someone from WWF's New Generation era, the WCW low to mid-card scene or the WWE ECW revival. Individuals such as Del Wilkes (The Patriot), Mike Shaw (Bastion Booger/Norman The Lunatic) and Sylvester Terkay come to mind.

Lots of WCW guys like Sgt. Pittman, Van Hammer, or Sean Stasiak

Bastion Booger

My favorite thing about BB is that he was made by Vince specifically to mock and demean Mike Shaw. Vince would commentate endlessly during his matches on how much he stunk, how fat and disgusting he was etc. True kiwi behavior, if Mike Shaw had been a bad person. It is absolutely hilarious how much of a by-the-book sociopath McMahon truly was, on display for everyone to see.

He was also sore he couldn't do the Friar gimmick with him

As a kid The Undertaker was my favorite wrassler. I mean how could you not love the guy with his spooky theme? Learning that he is pretty much considered one of the most upstanding individuals in the industry makes me so feel so vindicated. I'm often listening to clips of his podcast while doing chores and he's funny too and he's got all sorts of good stories.
I wish we could have had more of The Taker shooting promos and not being silent excluding the American Badass arc. But with that said how Mark could carry so much character just by showing an angry face speaks volumes of how good of a performer he was.

So much of industry entertainment talk is exceedingly negative and depressing. Undertaker is nice to hear from because it's just a good dude who found his dream job. Long live the Deadman!

There are so many from the New Generation era. Like Duke the Dumpster

I wouldn't say he's a lolcow more than anyone else who takes wrestling way too seriously. Meltzer is a far bigger lolcow and even he isn't really a lolcow. Neither one of them would give any new content regularly, other than "Cornette doesn't like X!" or "Meltzer gave that match 5 stars!". Not really lolcow worthy. Lolcow has become a way overused term on this site

off topic a little bit but this absurd video made me laugh. Funny comments section too
