He's been in the business for what, a half-century?
I'm sure he's picked up on the idea that guys who work as independent contractors REALLY fucking hate taxation in ways normal people can't fathom. At least enough to not be shocked.

Cornette has had Republican Derange Syndrome for decades. Pretty hypocritical that the man who used to call black people "nigger" to their face is now whining about how "TRUMP IS LITERALLY A CRIMINAL!"

Not going to veer too much into political diatribes, but there's a type of Democrat voter who leans heavily upon "I'm a 'Good Person' because I voted for the Democrat over the Republican!" They demonize Republicans, hyper-fixate on their misdeeds and overlook all Democrat malfeasance so as to maintain the dichotomy of "good vs. evil" in their minds.

Cornette is absolutely one of those types. He reminds me of that South Park bit where Whoopi Goldberg goes on stage and says "Republicans are so stupid! I hate Republicans!" to uproarious cheers.

I think he is from a family who owned newspapers in Louisville and is from a time when being a republican in south was a no no.

Nah, the industry is inundated with other talents that would fill the role better than he ever could going forward. Not to take a dig at him, but there's so many people with a more obvious route to that spot that it wouldn't make sense. He's played out, he has no new tricks up his sleeves, he's not cutting classic promos or putting on bangers and he doesn't connect with the audience like he did back in '13-'15 anymore.

Maybe if they strapped a rocket to him a decade ago, but his time is long past.

While nowhere as autistic as Cornette, Styles has said that anyone who endorses DNC schlock (gayness, anti-white sentiment, soylaced liberalism) to distance themselves from him IF they're going to be constantly bringing it up (which is how I assume he's managed to stay friends with guys like Finn and Cody who support said DNC schlock).
As for Kane, he went from centrist lolbert to right-wing lolbert due to getting tired of twitterites and Sean Waltman getting outraged at everything he says or does, shifting right out of spite and posting more and more obvious bait to purge his followers of Biden supporters.

I only agree with cornette's takes when he's talking about stuff from his era because it's very clear that the buisness has passed him by and he is mostly clueless on how to run a modern wrestling company he only really gets a pass when covering AEW because the product is so flagrantly bad it sort of cancels out how out of touch he generally is

Ziggler's carreer defining moment was being the sole survivor in the Team Cena vs Authority, and we all saw how that went.

I can't speak about how the careers of Ryback, Erick Rowan, Rusev or Brodie Lee would have diverged from how they ended up, but they could have easily stayed in the upper card because everyone played their role in that match with flying colors. Even Big Show's 1000th Heel turn played it's role, eliminating Cena and putting the Good Guys™️ in the darkest hour.

God, I'm still fucking mad on the internet at all that bullshit.

I still think his double turn with Alberto Del Rio was a bigger defining moment for him. That's what solidified the massive crowd pops whenever that theme would hit with "I'M HERE TO SHOW THE WORLD!" The Survivor Series win was way overshadowed by Sting's debut and Sting basically handing him the victory. Both were big moments, but I could see them parlaying the former into a star-making situation more than the latter.

Speaking of ladders, I was thinking about the follow-up to that Survivor Series win the other day and that mediocre ladder match he put on with Luke Harper (I knew him more by his slave name) and how that essentially squashed any chance he had of elevating from there. Going from WHC to IC champ like it was a consolation prize. It'd be interesting to see how it'd have played out if Hunter had the book instead of Vince back then.
