I watched the last hour of Dynamite. I had never actually paid much attention to Ospreay before that. Guy can wrestle, I will give him that, but that is all he has. Indy wrestlers these days are basically all "create a wrestler" from a video game (no charisma, good in ring skills, no mic skills, shitty look), and he seems like the best one. No charisma, awful mic skills, average look if he would get a better haircut. I really don't get the big deal unless all you care about is in-ring shit.

AEW just sucks the charisma out of everyone. Ospreay's got Tony's millions so he doesn't have to worry about his look anymore. He can trot out to the ring in the same the other bruvs in his neighbourhood roll out in.

The ratings and viewership data are in for this week’s (June 26) episode of AEW Dynamite.

Per Wrestlenomics, Dynamite netted 680,000 viewers and a 0.22 rating in the 18-49 year old demographic. These numbers are way up from last week’s (June 19) record low 502K and 0.16, respectively, and bounced almost all the way back to the 681K viewers and 0.23 demo rating that Dynamite landed the week before (June 12).

Some folks guessed that AEW’s record low results last week were greatly affected by the Juneteenth holiday that caused it to lose Big Bang Theory as its lead-in show. The schedule went back to normal this week and so did AEW’s ratings, so perhaps there was some merit to that idea.

Even so, this week’s 0.22 demo rating is tied for the second lowest number that Dynamite has ever pulled in its normal Wednesday night time slot, and 680K is its third worst viewership of the year, so AEW is still trying to figure out how to bring back many of the lapsed fans that were watching at the start of 2024.

Brilliant thumbnail:
It will genuinely never not be funny to me that you have these multi-million, even billion dollar promotions like WWE/AEW/NJPW/TNA that have all that money, all those writers and producers and shit, and yet the most entertaining shit in wrestling is literally some Africans in a field.

The article framing it as a great thing that the show's ratings "bounced back!" to only 680k is so fucking funny.

"Great news! AEW's ratings have exploded with a Big Bang! We're back to TNA on Destination America in 2015 levels! AEW is saved thanks to the return of its main event star, Sheldon Cooper!"

Lmao. At least we can see now that 180k or so viewers are carried over from BBT.

What would be considered to be AEW’s Wrestlemania?
Double or Nothing?

All In, i suppose.

It was their first show and then they shifted it to a yearly stadium show in Wembly with their biggest crowd of the year.

It'll be interesting to see how it does this year with the company cooling down a bit. The EU/UK is starved of big wrestling shows so they'll probably do fairly well there for a few years yet but shit booking could eventually force them to run a smaller venue.

Killer theme WWE gave for Jacob Fatu.

Edit: the storyline looks to be set for next months. Solo pins Cody in the six-man tag at MITB, thus earning a title shot at SummerSlam. The main event may have a Bloodline Rules stipulation or will be a standard match with a possible ref bump that results with interferences near the finish. When it looks like Solo is the on verge of victory, Paul Heyman returns with Roman Reigns to even the odds and begin the second Bloodline Civil War.

Talk about nuclear fucking heat in MSG when Solo wanted acknowledgement. This isn’t going to be a Bloodline civil war, it’s an insurrection. This shit is gonna draw so many dimes.

Civil War Games.
Roman Reigns.
Usos.
Sami Zayn.
Zilla Fatu.

Vs
Solo (Caesar?) Sikoa.
Guerrillas of Destiny.
Jacob Fatu.
Hikuleo (Talla Tonga?).

I say Zilla because he’s Umaga’s son, brother of Rikishi as you all know. The Tongans aren’t truly members of the Bloodline and Hikuleo is G.O.D’s brother.

Jey ain’t winning the Yeetcase. Now that I know LA Knight is in the match, he’s 100% winning MITB unless Logan Paul costs him.

See, this is how you make the "annoying douchebags" gimmick entertaining, BRO

Didn't he get fucked up and have to stop wrestling?
That's what i remembered reading about about as well a young bucks dive breaking his neck and ending his career in Japan in like 2016.

The career ending injury supposedly happened in 2016 but he would go on to work for Pro Wrestling Noah from 2017-2019 then DDT from 2019-2020 before getting fired from DDT for a yellow fever tweet. He did a couple indies as recently as 2022 according to cagematch.

Sounds like homeboy got cancelled ruining his chances of making it in the states and then soured on the business after his dad passed.

WBD would do better in ratings and save money just having Big Bang Theory reruns run for 2 extra hours and get rid of AEW
Young Sheldon just wrapped and should be hitting syndication soon.
