Dale Oliver's TNA themes weren't too bad. Jeff Jarrett doing a terrible HHH/JJJ cosplay should have killed that fucking company, but My World is a low-key banger.

Okada is officially gone from NJPW.

I would honestly be much more interested in a WWE Okada than I would be in an AEW Okada, but I'm sure it probably won't happen.

I don't think he'll do any better in WWE. Japanese wrestlers usually don't, at least on the men's side. Asuka succeeded because she made the rest of the women's roster look like crap. Okada won't stand out on the men's side.

He has height and size on his side so he wont look small compared to other wrestlers there, however NJPW wrestlers don't do storylines in or outside of the ring unlike say AJPW and DDT so for at least the first year he'll be crap. Just look at Nakamura's first two years on the main roster. All he had for a story is kicking/ punching people like AJ in the balls. Great character! Even with HHH doing creative now not much will change. Okada wont have a good story to him.

It's 2024 and fucking TNA had an early match of the year candidate on free TV last night. What a weird world.

They put it on YouTube too.

And they put the Nic Nemeth promo online.

And I'm hyped for Okada next week.

It's a sad day when Samoa Joe has to pretend that a nepotism hire geek who looks like he weighs 90 pounds soaking wet could have a competitive match with him or be "tough" in any way

But how else will Tony get undersized nobodies over if he doesn't recreate old matches with his action figure of the month?

You know Benoit was a smaller guy but he had the intensity in ring charisma and importantly wasn't built like a twig so that it was actually believable when he went head on with bigger guys
Benoit was still a stocky roided up little dude. If Hook can gain some size and avoids breaking his neck he might have a decent niche for himself elsewhere after Tony gets bored with him.

meh, I thought Hook v Joe was a decent enough mismatch with the small guy getting in some offense while constantly getting LOL NO into the mat over and over
I found it was a decent AJPW match, however they condensed five matches between the plucky new comer against the veteran into one match. This is something you would get there that the new guy starts to learn about how to counteract finishers and tank some other finishers because they just don't affect him much anymore. Though with Hook, like his father, he usually no sells moves anyways. Other than showing the potential Hook has later in his career, this just sets up Joe knowing that he still has at least two other younger guys going after him and he already had troubles with one younger guy. He doesn't need to worry about Wardlow because he's beaten him twice before with Wardlow only having one win on him although that was also for the TNT belt.

AEW rarely does new storylines well as they are bad with the payoff. They're better at finishing older storylines. Samoa Joe is just wrangled into the Swerve/ Hangman story which is one of their better home grown stories. Christian Cage being the other good story.
