Some Reddit person has a theory that this is all a plan by Jay to win the belt.

Jay convinces Cole to befriend MJF to the point where they are tag champs and MJF gets dinged up defending those tag belts so an "injured" Cole has to step up for his buddy and defend the main belt but it ends with a finger poke of doom and Jay is the new champ.

It would be a terrible angle because it makes everyone involved look weak but I can see TK doing it because it feels like something that would have happened during the attitude era
What if Adam Cole and MJF switch between being the Devil while Wardlow was a red herring.

You ever think about the fact that if Vince had retained creative control, Austin Theory would be WWE champion by now? At least the secondary belt.

The main event just got more retarded.

Edit: I learned two things from this main event.

1) A hit with a small ring is more powerful than a shot with a big ass heavy title to the head.
2) In AEW a heel faction of 3 guys can't beat 1 guy who barely can walk but can drive a car and pull of the wildest moves.

A pinpoint shot hurts more than something that's wide because of the surface area. It's one of the few times getting hit by something in wrestling makes sense.

It's called "adrenalin". Baby faces tend to have a lot of it while heels rarely do.

All all this was an okay PPV, not one one of their best. Not a great opening match which is something AEW tends to be known for. Tag matches were okay, sets up the Golden Jets to win against Starks who will then drop it to the Bucks to finish off that storyline where the Bucks can never beat Kenny in a tag match. Not sure who will go on to face them though, maybe the House of Black since they're feuding with everyone. FTR is still too soon. Julia winning was a no brainer once the match was a triple threat with Skye taking the fall to "protect" Kris. Main Event was just a predicable injured babyface match. Serviceable but hurt Switchblade in the end though he shouldn't have stolen the belt as that never ends well.

I didn't care for the women's match, it's just one transistional champion beating another. I don't care for garbage matches like the Swerve/ Page match. Moxley went overboard with the hit absorption. That's something you do near the end, instead OC just had to spam moves. I would have rather have had him beat Mox with the Mouse Trap and have him say something like "I don't have to hit you hard to beat you". The reveal that Will signed is a given since Ronda didn't sign and she was already having a match over on ROH after a "handshake deal". It's not like it could be anyone else.

Apparently who's ever wearing the mask all this time is the Devil so they wont switch later on.

I love you homos longing for the "good old days" of AEW. They were never good. They were mediocre at best, then Tony Coke decided to bring in all the WWE castoffs and rejects, instead of building and improving on it's own mediocrity. In a way, letting Cody go back to the WWE could have been the best thing for them. His ego was out of control (remember that faggots? I do.), and he didn't fit in with the rest of the show. They could have built off that to make their show more cohesive.
As it was, AEW started as mostly indie shitters, but they had some good people as producers that could have taught some of them how to actually wrestle and not constantly injure each other and themselves. They could have been taught how to build stories in the ring, etc, etc. And if Tony had put his foot down to these delusional self-marks, it would have happened.
Now, no one wants to listen. everyone is hurting each other, and Tony, instead of growing into a passable booker, has too much on his plate and is now just throwing everything at the wall, hoping something sticks.
Under normal circumstances, I'd be a bit upset at this, as I really wanted something to watch other than WWE's clown show, but instead, I couldn't be more delighted, as AEW has the biggest bunch of turbo faggot fans on the planet. You're getting exactly what you deserve. BWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...lol.

I swear to God bear if it's Tony I'm done with the company for good.
It can really only be one of two people, Wardlow which would be a bit of a let down and Andrade, which again would be a let down since he's moving into a thing with Miro. Not to mention he's in the Danielson Tournament to also probably set up a rematch between the two.

Speaking of Tournament, it also has a belt. Why Tony can't just reward trophies is beyond me. Maybe he got too many of them as a child for just participating in things.

Wwe actually getting good again when vince got btfo isn't helping them much either

TK must have put up serious money to scoop Ospreay out from under WWE. The deal is only 3 years so even if it doesn't work out Will can still go to WWE at a later date with an established rep on US TV.
