What about the Canadian Destroyer? It's been used so much that there are signs in various crowds to tell wrestlers to stop using it.
Well yeah, but I thought that went without saying considering it's also a kick - oh wait, the actual move, not Goldberg kicking Bret's head off.

I blame Penta turning it into a transitional move, but yeah. In the old TNA days, seeing Petey hit it would always get a pop, now it needs to fuck off. WWE, last I checked, had it on the "Do Not Use" list, it can stay there if that's the case.

They let Rey Mysterio use it a couple of times when he was feuding with Andrade on SmackDown and NXT let Adam Cole use it quite a few times. They also let Dijak hit an avalanche version on Keith Lee once. It isn't banned in WWE, but they only allowed a handful of wrestlers that they trusted to use it, and only occasionally. I wish it were banned because it is one of those moves (like the Cross Rhodes/Blade Runner and Spanish Fly) that looks like shit 99% of the time anyway.

maybe if I had gotten into wrasslin a couple of decades previous I'd be mad online about powerbombs and superkicks, but yeah, I feel like the Destroyer getting beaten into the ground is the worst
At least the Code Red never gets old. Everytime someone else other than Amazing Red hitting it people are like "oh shit he hit a code red!" or "who ordered the code red?!?"

That hack also ruined the package piledriver. I swear, he's the worst wrestler I've seen in the past decade. He's beyond hyped up. People like Oli who think he should always be a main eventer should re-evaluate their lives.

will it ever happen and if so will it be the moment AEW jumps the shark for good?

Y’know what - do it. It worked out so well for Dixie, and I think this would be the end of the LulTNA Any% Speedrun.

Much as I don’t mind AEW existing, I can easily see the Cokehead in Chief thinking Hogan would be the thing to get him back over 1M. Shit, at this point I say hire Russo - at least that’d be a lateral move for ratings…

romance angles in wrestling because they’re either genuinely good (Early Stephanie/Triple H)
Meh, early McMahon-Helmsley regime was just Trips using Steph to further DX and himself. Steph hardly played a part. The end of their on-screen marriage was way better with Stephanie actively taking a role in seeing The Game lose to the point she aligns with Y2J and becomes her manager.

If nothing else, this promo was worth it.

Russo for all his faults could actually make entertaining TV when he wasn't putting himself on screen as a character, and he'd actually use the roster more than Tony the Snowman.
Russo just needed a handler back in the day as much as Vince needed one so they worked well together. When all you had was either than you got shit television. Tony had good television for about two and a half years, then he used up all his ideas and just re did everything. Best he's had in the past two years if the Adam Cole MJF storyline that's still ongoing and Kingston finally finishing up a what? 15 year old storyline? It was worse than waiting for the Hangman storyline to finish and in the end that fizzled out.

I will admit though the thing with Swerve is a little interesting, though I think Hangman will win in the end (he really shouldn't). It was nice to have the guy acting like a nigger on television break into Hangman's home and creep on a child like a nigger all the while no one realizing that that's what they're doing.

I've been a Penta mark since before he was Pentagon Jr, but yeah he's gotten really bad about the movespam as he got more in the USA scene

Drew all but confirmed joining Judgment Day in the War Games match. Who will be the 5th man for the baby face team?
I'm guessing Orton, but I can already hear the CM Punk chants in the distance.

Honestly, whether or not WWE and Punk come to terms, I just hope that when they've in Chicago they just play Cult of Personality as much as possible on the PA between matches to fuck with the crowd.

I think it's Orton, too. It would make the most sense. Punk doesn't need to be in a match at SS, he can just come out and say like "I'm back" or some shit.

This may seem like an insanely dumb question for the thread, but are any of the promotions worth watching if I haven't seen a wrasslin' in say 8 or so years?
Last I remember was WWE's The Nexus. I haven't watched any of the jap stuff and I had watched bits and pieces of TnA's The Authority storyline(no idea which and now that I think about it I think they were called the mafia).

WWE right now is the best it's been in at least 20 years.

granted, that's somewhat faint praise, but yeah, I don't go out of my way for WWE, I'll catch a pirate stream of raw until it craps out around 930~10ish or I otherwise wander off, not unlike my AEW watching, and WWE still has the usual flaws like The WWE Match, but it's been working nicely enough

The chief reason for Punk coming back would be to have him one hit beat Seth Rollins (shipping him off to Smackdown in the process) and then trashing the AEW belt he's been carrying around and shit talking Roman and declaring the Raw participation belt the only one that matters, insert shoot comment that Roman only keeps the belt because he keeps lying that he can get Rock back full time.

Putting the belt on CM Punk would make the Raw belt actually mean something, especially if you go the angle of allowing Punk to shit talk Roman and when Roman finally does come back, find out he's curtain jerking the opening match of the Royal Rumble, denied a dressing room, being forced out the arena at gunpoint by security afterwards, and generally speaking being treated like dogshit along with Heyman, who gets banned from Raw because Punk doesn't want to deal with his parasitic bullshit.

Make Punk a tweener who's egomaniacle but meaning well and just have him troll Roman until Mania and beat him/unify all the belts THEN do a fuck-up finish with Cody which ends with Cody getting one belt and Punk the other. Cody gets Smackdown, Punk Raw, and you toss the Usos and Solo into a garbage truck with Roman and we never see them again.

Or don't fucking bring Punk at all, he's fucking trash and radioactive. WWE has more than enough roster capable of doing shit, they just need to fucking stop with the coconut niggers.

That sounds fucking awful
