At least they're being honest about what to expect if you just wandered in after mania. If they pretended that things would happen of any consequence it would be lying.

In fairness, of all the things I liked about RAW, aside from all the NXT stars coming up, Roman Reigns was up there. I think that through their own blithering stupidity WWE have actually booked themselves into a potential gold mine here.

Roman's character on RAW was exactly how it should have been. On youtube, he said it best, 'I'm not a bad guy' in the way that a heel that doesn't really give a damn would. He also looked far more comfortable with the booing fans and even seemed to relish it. The fact that he speared Jericho and then leaned on the ropes in the most cocky manner possible almost confirmed to me that he's either turned heel or will very, very soon.

Now, I'm not saying that Roman will be the next Rock. His mic skills aren't really there, but he has such nuclear heat on him already that the next year could be the year of Roman as a top heel champion, something that, if his character remains consistent, I'd very much like to see. Especially if a certain Lunatic and Architect were to get involved in trying to stop him...

I've not really followed WWE in a couple of years apart from a couple of PPVs and a bit of news reading but I'm generally aware of the push Roman has gotten. And really, why hasn't he been turned? People boo every damn thing he does, he has a boring moveset and a finisher he can hit anywhere and out of the blue (so he can snatch victories even after a babyface has beaten him down). Are they that desperate to have a new babyface whose merchandise kids will buy?

They're having a concert at Raw next week by a band best known for having Dr. Phil's son in it. I guess they didn't learn from WCW booking a much more famous band in KISS 20 years ago (had the lowest ratings in the history of Nitro), but maybe we'll get the debut of a shitty psychologist wrestler out of it like the KISS Demon?

Because Vince wants him as a big fanchise babyface. Sadly it is that simple. Vince sees the next Rock in him. But ignores that the Rock got as over as he got through his heel run

Here's an interesting interview, Kevin Owens basically said Roman Reign's post Wrestlemania promo a few days before Wrestlemania (I'm not a good guy, I'm not a bad guy, I'm the guy (Although he said "I'm not a bad guy, I'm not a good guy, I'm a guy")), I wonder if he knew Roman was going to say it and was messing around or one of the writing team/Vince saw the interview and thought it was a good line?:

Blackjack Mulligan passes away

WWE is saddened by the news that Robert Windham, aka WWE Hall of Famer Blackjack Mulligan, has passed away at age 73..

Considered to be one of the toughest competitors of his day — only his rival Andre the Giant could overshadow the 6-foot-9, 345-pound stud from Eagle Pass, Texas — Mulligan served as a U.S. Marine in Guam and played for the New York Jets before gaining fame in the ring. With his signature all black gear — from his cowboy hat to his leather glove — and his thick western mustache, Mulligan cut the figure of a dangerous outlaw in the ring and proved every bit as treacherous with his feared iron claw hold.

Starting off his career in the AWA as "Big" Bob Windham, Mulligan soon joined up with Blackjack Lanza to form The Blackjacks in WWE. The duo won tandem titles across the country, including a reign as WWE's World Tag Team Champions in 1975, and made their mark as one of the most iconic duos of the 1970s. In 2006, the pair was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by their manager, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan.

Mulligan's career winded down in the late '80s, but his legacy continued on as his sons, Kendall Windham and WWE Hall of Famer Barry Windham, entered the ring. Today, his hard-hitting style can be seen in his grandsons, Bo Dallas and Bray Wyatt, the boys of Mulligan's son-in-law, Mike Rotunda.

WWE extends its sincerest condolences to Windham's family, friends and colleagues.

RIP

I wouldn't exactly consider Bo Dallas hard-hitting, but yeah he was a legend and I always enjoyed watching old tapes of him wrestling whenever I was over at Porn Dad's house

So @Pickle Inspector posted the video with Kevin Owens and it recommended I check out a Paul Heyman interview from the same day. I thought this part was interesting because it's the only time I've seen Paul caught off guard and speechless in my life.

You can tell he was really diplomatic here because he picked ECW guys (RVD, Dudleys, Taz, Sabu) who will most likely make it into the Hall of Fame instead of guys who SHOULD be in the Hall of Fame, but won't like Raven (he has heat with Vince cuz he did coke with Shane when he was a teenager), Shane Douglas (unremarkable run in WWF, rustled a lot of jimmies elsewhere). Don't know why Tommy Dreamer didn't get a mention, though, since he had a good relationship with them.

I know I said I don't like crowd shaming, but I also fucking hate it when fans bring giant cutouts of their heads to TV shows. No one tunes into a wrestling program to see your ugly mugshot jumping up and down behind the barricade.

Jeff Jarrett is running a pyramid scheme now to try and fund GWF. This is hilarious and sad at the same time.
Has Jeff Jarrett even been over enough to draw a crowd in the past 15 years? I can't think of any time in my life ever I've heard someone say "Boy, I sure miss Jeff Jarrett!".

I really enjoyed Jeff Jarrett's whole heel shtick (I know I'm in the minority by being a fan of his), but this is just sad. Besides that, he's been semi-retired for years now so even if he was a big draw (tbh he never was), his presence wouldn't be able to keep a company afloat by himself.

I'll always like Jarrett for coining the term "Slap Nuts". He was a pretty good worker, but he never really had a good gimmick and was only ok on the mic. I would be ok with Jarrett being a IC/US champ and as a guy main eventing a 2nd tier PPV against a superstar in a losing effort, but he should have never been THE GUY.

Exactly. He's a solid mid-carder that could work some feuds and elevate other guys, but he's never going to put asses in seats, and you just KNOW he'd constantly be in the main event scene in any company he has a stake in. He did it in TNA, and even had the balls to turn cucking Kurt Angle into a work.
