No, that's not it. Still looks like a fucking awesome game. The graphics for the game I saw were also much better than this game. They had 3D cutscenes too, if I recall correctly. I think the game you're answering about was on a demo disks for Macintosh Power PC demo discs in folio software suite books from the early to mid 90s. I remember playing it because my older brother had a PowerPC 6000 series or 5000 series and had a software suite book for it.
 
God, I don't think it was THB, but there was this PS2 game I played all the time when I was younger. You were racing around on the highways of Tokyo (I think, it might have been throughout Japan) and you had to challenge racers with cars that were usually massively overpowered compared to yours, and if you won you got their cars or something like that and went back on the road to continue the process.

It wasn't the best racing game available, but those one on one races whipping through highway traffic were pure adrenaline for me.
 
A flight sim on the Sega Genesis; there were two tall buildings that looked like WTC 1 & 2

This has my noggin joggin because there were only like a half dozen flight sims on the genesis.

Its probably f15 strike eagle or f22 interceptor.

I every genesis and sms rom. Do you remember if teh towers youre refering to were on a specific mission or whatever? I recall f15 lets you chose difficulty and whatever campaign you want.

God, I don't think it was THB, but there was this PS2 game I played all the time when I was younger. It wasn't the best racing game available, but those one on one races whipping through highway traffic were pure adrenaline for me.

Thsi is almost definitely one of the later games in teh same series: tokyo highway battle became wangan midnight (when licensed by the anime ip holders) and.tokyo xtreme racer.

Both versions had arcade machines running the nvidia nv series hardware throughout the licenses existance.

The biggest difference is that all wangan midnight and maximum tune games are arcade intended arcade style credit eaters whereas the "tokyo xtreme racer" games are more simulation.

The japanese highway road map is actually to scale apparently and even in the unlicensed games you still battle the wangan midnight trope bosses, abiet named differently

I'm thinking it'd be one of those and to be honest I don't remember much besides that one urban landscape (there were others) and that it had a realistic instrument panel, particularly the pitch gyro and the voice warned you to correct your direction.
 
This one I only remember playing in the store as a demo, but I would like to know it's identity:

It was around the time of the early PS2 days, it was a giant mech game that was obviously japanese in origin. I remember the cutscene in the demo showed a monster rampaging through the busy streets of Japan, complete with bloodsplatter from people being stepped on. You were a teenager that could control a giant robot via some sort of remote control device, had to maneuver the guy to a rooftop to see the monster, and then call the robot, in which case it then changed perspective to the robot itself. I remember the controls being extremely clunky, but I still would like to know what this game was, since it was the first time I ever played on a PS2.
Sounds like R.A.D. Robot Alchemic Drive.
 
My memory is incredibly fuzzy on the subject, but I recall some turn-based game on DOS where it was you as some squad of environmentalists or park rangers or something versus a bunch of dudes trying to pave over everything. You had to undo their progress by planting grass and trees around their tarmac.

Most other games I can recall relatively easily, but that one has escaped me for a while. Not even DOSNotalgic on Twitter knew what the fuck I was talking about.
 
So there was this one PS2 game about fucking gladiator battles in Rome or some shit that I used to play for days on end. It was a 3rd-person arena fighter type deal, with weapons (and health packs in the form of bread and meat) being scattered around stages filled with enemies. The most notable thing about the game was the dismemberment mechanics - you could chop off a dude's leg and watch him hop around or cut his arm off and watch him hold on to the bleeding stump and hobble towards you. The game also had some cool boss fights - one was this Eastern(?) midget dude riding a motherfucking battle elephant, another was some kind of noble dude with a sword and a stuffed lion head mounted on his shoulder (I believe he was the main villain and final boss too). The story switched between the gladiator fights to the MC's memories of fighting barbarians and eventually turned into the MC and some thot who's also a gladiator fighting off the noble dude's invasion (while also killing the MC's mentor turned traitor, which is the penultimate boss fight).
I've been looking for this fucking game for ages now, I hope ya'll can find it.

Of the four military flight sims on the Sega Genesis distributed by Electronic Arts, F-117 Night Storm seems to be the one with the most digitized voice samples.


I don't see any Twin Towers in that clip but it's not the whole game. Quite obviously, the environments in flight sims on the Genesis couldn't be too "urban" just because the Genesis can't handle too many polygons at once, or at least not without the special SVP 3D processor chip used solely on the Virtua Racing cartridge. That makes me wonder what might have been possible if EA had developed flight sim games on the Genesis using the SVP chip, not that I'm saying that the flight sims EA did make (which I believe were all ports of PC flight sims from Microprose) weren't already pretty impressive for the console.

Shadow of Rome. It holds up quite well for it's age, the stealth sections were & are terrible though, so if you replay it's story, be prepared to rip your hair out. Downloading a 100% save and going through the Colosseum challenges is a good way to play the meatier combat.

The closest thing I can think of off the top of my head is D.R.A.G.O.N. Force. It doesn't really involve planting grass and trees, and it's based purely on the fact that in the game's first mission you're going up against some bad "evil guys" in a forest with a road running through it that looks not too far off from a tarmac. Can you remember what year you played it? Anything about the gameplay besides the tree/grass planting element? Even minor stuff like if it was top down or a first person view, or perhaps isometric?
 
This one really bugs me, partly because I honestly don't know what computer system it was on. It was either 80s or maybe early 90s, and black and white. It was some kind of clunky gothic sidescroller thing where you could punch or kick, and as a kid I had a hard time remembering to kick the wolves instead of trying to punch them. I think the first boss was a werewolf.
Really just a shot in the dark and I'd be really impressed if anyone can identify it.

That looks like it but I definitely remember it was a male voice. And for sure the urban landscape wasn't detailed. I think there was also a desert landscape.

The instrument panel was more detailed and really resembled an IRL one-we were really into planes at the time and more often than not we were allowed to peek into the cockpit on long flights by a pilot. Of course this was all pre 9/11 : (

Nah, it was literally a game about environmentalists vs evil pavement capitalists. It was top-down and I believe it was in 16-color mode, but that's about all I remember. It was on a random diskette that my grandpa found at a flea market, so it could have just been some shareware for all I know.

It wasn't this D.R.A.G.O.N. Force game, but this one actually looks pretty good.
 
Just remembered another PS2 game that I played the shit out of. It was another 3rd-person type deal, and it was about some greek guys defending against these roman(?) fuckers, since the first mission was basically defending some city (Athens, I believe) from their attack. I think the first boss fight was against this Roman general guy (took place on a battlefield) and he later on gets resurrected as a necromancer and is the penultimate(?) boss fight. There was also an arena mode where you and a squad of allies beat up wave after wave of the main enemy types faced in the game - roman fuckers, the undead, bounty hunter gladiator types and an All-Star Arena where the enemy types alternated with every wave. Oh yeah, and you could toggle a lot of shit in this mode, meaning you could turn off allies and just go fight alone.
(And no, it wasn't God of War.)
