Might want to keep an eye on The Latics (Oldham Athletic) lads. The fans have been invading the pitch for the last couple of games and it's hilarious.

Assume they're still angry about their ownership? I remember seeing articles about them hating their owner but that was a while ago. I assume things haven't gotten any better for them.

They really are. The team have been playing like gash this season too so the supporters just have a party on the pitch when the team's 3-nil down

A humongous scandal just eroded in the first minutes of the Brazil vs. Argentina match for the WC Qualifiers.
Long story short: Argentina fielded four players from the Premier League, when the FA strictly forbade any player that played there to travel abroad, due to Covid concerns. the Brazilian NT itself had to unselect 9 players and call up people from our domestic league to make up for it. At 5 minutes into the game, the Sanitary Watch people came into the pitch and interrupted the game, causing a skirmish and the walk-off of all the players and coaches.
Apparently, the new head honchos of CBF and CONMEBOL allowed those players in the stadium's premises, despite the fact they were threatened with deportation.

I'm confused about the EPL travel ban because the USMNT brought Pulisic and Steffen to North America for this window. Pulisic literally just contracted covid in England right before the break, so I guess there isn't a huge concern there and Steffen is Man City's number two keeper, so not a major role barring injury to Ederson. Was it geographic or something? I remember reading that Salah couldn't play for Egypt.

Also somewhat related, Steffen just tested positive for covid today lmfao. He was unlikely to play for us this window due to muscle spasms, but that still cracks me up.

Edit: Just saw that the EPL designated certain countries on a red list. Seems pretty arbitrary and frankly stupid in hindsight with Steffen getting covid.

The argument, in the case of Brazil and other countries, is that we are still on said red list. Never mind the fact our cases are on a steady decrease and our vaccination efforts are going on fast, while their cases are on the rise again. But wait, weren't they all vaccinated?

All this is doing is raising more doubts about the effectiveness of the vaccines and of quarantine measures.

Watching the WC qualifier match between Poland and England. The bucktooths of course kneeled during the anthem which was met with loud boos. Sometimes my country ain't so bad.
guess if the German-owned "Polish media" had a cry about it

Christ watching the England v Poland game was torture, Southgate's defensive style for this team just doesn't work and fucks them over at least once a game.

Should have been an easy England win but the constant passing back for possession was the downfall.

Here we go boys, Ronaldo in the starting 11 for United today. Pretty dangerous looking side on paper, should be interesting to see if they can make a champions league run this year.

There's something missing from this team, and it wasn't Ronaldo.
A holding midfielder? I think McTominay is good enough now that the CB duo is Varane/Macguire. They should be able to compete with any team in Europe now.

A step far that. They're only being looked at as contenders for the PL since Ronnie's return. They're not even favourites on that front, let alone Europe. Ronaldo and Varane are huge upgrades, but they need more than these 2 to make an impact in Europe. To do anything there they need more quality in the Starting XI and a deeper bench. A 34 year old Cavani, great as he is, and Martial and Lingardinho coming into the fold when you're down and in desperate need of creativity and goals isn't what wins silverware on that stage.

Ronaldo's rape case is re-emerging again. Some feminist group paid to have this banner flown over Old Trafford during the match today.

It is interesting to see how the UK media reacts to this. There's a small article on the BBC Sports front page about it but it's buried down below all the other articles lavishing praise on Good Ol' Ronnie. All other football media seems to be ignoring it other than some screeching wokies on Twitter. On Reddit however, r/soccer had to lock the thread posted about the banner due to the debate getting too spicy, while r/reddevils (Man Utd subreddit) seems to have banned all discussion of the rape case whatsoever. UK football media is usually biased towards Man Utd (and Liverpool) so they seem to be twisting themselves into knots over this, with their liberal-woke sensibilities dragging them in one direction, while their ooga booga "must defend me team" footy tribalism drags them in the other.

Fair enough, they may not have the depth of City or PSG but imo that starting 11 is as good as any. Pobga is looking like the best midfielder in the world again and those 2 young wingers have class. If they can get Ronaldo consistent service, they shouldn't fear anyone. In a year where Barca and Madrid seem to have taken big steps back, most of their European competition will probably be coming from English sides anyway.

Sancho is shit.
Lingz is a utter travesty and should be shot.
Fred is shit.
Ole is a fucking retard.

Hope this helps.
