Denmark vs Ukraine was abandoned after Christian Eriksen appears to have had another heart attack on the pitch. Thankfully the pacemaker he got after the previous one appears to have done it's job and he was able to walk himself off. Even so, that has to be it for him now, right? Anyone letting him play after that is fucking insane.
Its pretty sad that his career will end this way. Was hoping he could play this world cup and then either go back to Ajax or Odense Boldklub and finish his career where it started
Shambolic that the American posters in this thread are all fat and need fat people shirts even by American inflated sizing.
Ok euro poor. Go pay 3 of whatever unvaluable currency you use to put some ice in your drink

It's whatever style was the thing at the time. My shirt from 1996 is a Large but fits like XXL since that's how they were back then.

Speaking of shirts, I've been wondering since 1998 how Argentina's goalkeeper was able to wear a black shirt when they had their dark blue away shirts on against England. Seemed like a color clash.

So with the world cup starting soon I wonder: How hyped are people in your country, around you, etc and how hyped are you?
The hype is certainly there down here in Brazil, but I feel it's been more "cautious" ever since 7x1 happened.

Back in the day, all freaking streets were painted in the national colors, with flags and decorations hung on strings across the lampposts and whatnot. Nowadays, those painted streets diminished in number, and it's mostly a sort-of corporate thing to do that in supermarkets and other commercial establishments.

But whatever, people will still watch the games, and the celebrations and fireworks will still be heard across the streets whenever Brazil scores and wins a match.

This fucking game is so damn fun.

I still didn't manage to win 7-0, only 2 with 6-1

I cant believe my team played against germany 3x in a row just to lose against germany in the final

And the other run I lost the semis in penaltis because messi missed one then I list another in the alternates PK.

Didn't they stop this whole The Line thing bc they realized it's really fucking stupid and impossible to build?
Some fun excerpts from Wikipedia:

> The initial plan called for the city to span 170 kilometres (110 mi) at a height of 500 m (1,600 ft) and a width of 200 metres (660 ft), with the capacity to accommodate a population of 9 million (25% of Saudi Arabia's 2022 population of 35.5 million)

> Saudi Arabia stated that it aimed to complete a 5 km (3.1 mi) segment by 2030, with completion of the full 170 km (110 mi) project in 2045. In 2024, the Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg reported that the first phase would only be 2.4 km (1.5 mi) long; Saudi officials denied this and stated that the project was continuing as planned

> In 2024, after $50 billion had been spent, the project was reported to be facing problems of large cost increases, many long delays, and a possible lack of sufficient inhabitants to make the city a modern business hub

> The Wall Street Journal said that a 2023 draft board presentation estimated completion in 2080 at a cost of $8.8 trillion—25 times the annual Saudi budget—and $370 billion by 2035 for the first phase, mostly funded by the Saudi state, with the hope of later private investment.

That said, the US kits are moving.
Other than the big, awkward blank space in the back, I genuinely like the 2026 US kits. The only other one that I like more is the 1994 away kits.

Here's something to think about.... every World Cup held in a CONCACAF country has had a South American winner.

2030 will be fun then. Being held jointly between Spain. Portugal and Morocco.
But, seeing as it is the tournaments 100th birthday, the first three games will be held Montevideo, Uruguay, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Estadio Asunción, Paraguay.

That should ensure FIFA a big payday!

Just a reminder that there's a round of 32 this year, in addition to the round of 16. So only 16 teams get knocked out of the elimination rounds (every 4th place team and the 4 worst 3rd place finishers; 8 3rd place teams will advance)- so your team is likely to make the knockouts (and possibly make history by getting knocked out in an entirely new way).
