I straight up believe that English football needs a serious cull of the teams involved, there's a ludicrous amount of teams compared to population and landmass of similar countries and all it does is keep an incredible amount of teams on a knife edge between doing 'ok' and absolute financial collapse. League 2 and below is an absolute shitshow of a joke with teams wearing more sponsors than F1 cars just to break even.

Derby of course feels bad because they're genuinely a decently sized team in a decent catchment area, but you see near enough 50+ teams in the Manchester or London areas that are basically cannibalising one another for just a scrap of fans.

I'm not too sure about that, sometimes people just wanna have a game and it's probably ingrained in the culture, taking that away would not be too nice I guess. Your point makes financial sense probably, but it wouldn't be popular at all if it happens.

I mean, people will always be down for a kickabout but even historically you had teams basically merging to prop up each other or collapsing (most 'United' clubs are called that because they merged) and people generally moving on. It only feels like within the last 30 years that a football club shutting down for good is as big an atrocity as seven holocausts because previously if your hometown team collapsed, another one would pop up and people would just flock there instead.

Fans in 2021 are more likely to drain their life savings to try and kickstart their (very obviously doomed to a non retard) club instead of waiting for it to fail to start a new one.

Haven't seen the last 4 or 5 United games, but I got to enjoy this one. Apparently they are still shit.

Lucky you, some of those games were proper shit. It's much better today in terms of flow in the play.

Colombia's Union Magdalena won promotion with this totally not suspicious last minute goal

As much as Derby's owners deserve this, their most recent deduction happened because the EFL decided to change their minds on how Derby values their players (which they had accepted previously) feels almost malicious
I am sure they'll end up with some new owners. However they could also go the route of Bolton, Doncaster or Leyton in which they just plummet to unknown levels

Dortmund player gets into trouble for shit talking a ref

Jude Bellingham: Police investigate Borussia Dortmund midfielder's comments on referee Felix Zwayer after Bayern Munich loss

A criminal complaint has been filed and the case will now be forwarded to the Dortmund public prosecutor's office who will determine whether there will be any criminal charges against Bellingham.

German police are investigating Jude Bellingham's comments on referee Felix Zwayer after Borussia Dortmund's loss to Bayern Munich, Sky in Germany have been told.

Bellingham hit out at the performance of Zwayer during the 3-2 defeat as Dortmund were left frustrated after the referee turned down appeals for a penalty - only to award Bayern one for a Mats Hummels handball.

Robert Lewandowski stepped up and scored what proved to be the winner against his old club, in front of a restricted attendance at Signal Iduna Park.

And after the game Bellingham told ViaPlay: "You give a referee, that has match fixed before, the biggest game in Germany, what do you expect?

"For me, it wasn't [a penalty]. He [Hummels] is not even looking at the ball and he's fighting to get it and it hits him.

"You can look at a lot of the decisions in the game."

Dortmund boss Marco Rose was also sent to the stands after criticising the Bayern penalty award, which came following a VAR review in the 77th minute.

England international Bellingham was referring to Zwayer's six-month ban by the German FA in 2005 following a match-fixing scandal.

Defending his decisions, Zwayer told Sky Germany: "The situation was a standard corner kick.

"I see in the game that it's about a touch by Hummels. The question for me was: Is the arm stretched away from the body or not? In real time, it was not clear whether his arm was moved towards the ball.

"I checked it with [VAR officials] in Cologne and then the arm position was checked.

"The video assistant made an assessment for himself and said that Hummels had his arm away from the body in an unnatural position.

"In the end, he clearly deflected the ball with his elbow and I came to the decision that it was a penalty."

A criminal complaint has now been filed and the case will be forwarded to the Dortmund public prosecutor's office who will determine whether there will be any criminal charges against Bellingham with a decision expected later on this week.

Earlier in the second half, Dortmund captain Marco Reus went down in the box following a challenge by Lucas Hernandez but no VAR referral was forthcoming on that occasion.

"It was a contact in the upper body area, which is allowed to happen even at high speed," Zwayer added.

"The situation is not black and white, I decided against the penalty because of my line of sight."

Congratulations to Atlético Mineiro who have confirmed their first national championship in 50 years yesterday. They can now boast they are the biggest, the best and most organized team in the state of Minas Gerais after living under Cruzeiro's shadow for quite some time.

Grêmio is also pretty much relegated. The fight for the last vacancy for next year's Série B is still on, and sadly, my São Paulo is still on it.

Great draw for Chesterfield in the FA Cup 3rd Round. Also good for Chelsea's fanbase to have to look at a map of England for once.

Am I the only cunt who plays Football Manager around here? I just can't get over how garbage the ui/ux has been the past 2 iterations (21, 22, I skipped 20), and I keep reverting back to 2019. It's like they hired some intern to make this shit, and decided to tinker with shit that didn't need tinkering with for the sake of being able to say they changed something, and it isn't just a copy and paste job. Regardless of whether people complained or not, and regardless if it worked fine as is or not. I was able to handle the drastic change from 14 to 15 and things largely stayed the same until I'm guessing 20 or 21, and even still large parts of the ui/ux are the same or at least similar, admittedly. But the shit they did change has really made sifting through this shit and absorbing information succinctly a chore, and no amount of downloaded skins or customizing my own skin can save this shit.

If nobody else plays it my apologies, but I needed to get that off of my damn chest. And by God if anybody does play it and has similar grievances watch out, because I'm ready to complain some more.

FM has been shit since 2010, which is why I stick with that version

Say no more:

-Gotta love how they changed a few digits for colours of different things (attributes, shortlists, position familiarity, etc.) so now instead of dark green, now the colour is only 99% similar to the dark green we've used for years, see guys, we don't just copy and paste!

-Condition/match sharpness. FUCK me. Congrats on the push for more realism by removing numbers and instead using a heart emoji. Really feel like I'm in the dugout with that one. Never fucking mind that the game is centered around attribute numbers for fucks sake. I guess instead of seeing a midfielder with 14 passing, next year we'll see a foot emoji with different colors denoting how strong their passing is.

-Why did they split club info onto about 3 different fucking screens instead of having the most pertinent information on mostly one or two. Guess having club legends and season ticket holders on the same page really breaks immersion.

-Transfer deadline day. The state of it. Useless and even more time consuming.

-Really nice job making me feel like I'm at a press conference or in a dressing room by making me look all across the bottom of my screen for dialog options with absolutely nothing of value in the centre of my screen. You know, the centre of a computer screen, where human beings typically look.

-Changing transfer values to a range (that your scouts fucking gave you anyways in previous versions) instead of a static value, like any God damn transfer market website in real life would have. Thanks for letting me know Haaland is valued at somewhere between 60m-229m, really helping me out there, guys.

Plenty more to bitch about but I don't want to take up anybody's entire monitor height.

I just stick to 19. Currently sitting at 4800+ hours... I may have a problem. :crocodile:

I've tried to give these new iterations a chance but these dickheads have just phoned it in it seems. I've been burned two years in a row now. Just going to stick to 19, and maybe 14 every once in a blue moon. Fuck SI. Making changes just for the sake of change at this point. Quality of life, u wot?

I played 14 for a bit due to it having a Linux native version but couldn't get on with all the additional crap that they added. I don't give a shit about agents, stop making me try and play nice with them. Also that whole "we watched Sky Sports News transfer deadline day show and liked it, put that in" stuff. Fuck awful, and Sky are cunts too.

Also, full-backs literally didn't work properly last time I played it. As in, there was no point to playing them because they'd neither compete with opposition wingers nor attack down their own wing. Worthless.

See 14 was my first FM so I didn't know anything about it before then, but I do know that they added a bunch of shit that year specifically so I get the gripe.

But part of the problem as I see it is the match engine changes so damn much year to year so it's like rng whether your full backs (or whatever position) in Current Year ™️ FM will be op or not. I can tell you in FM 19 that full backs are world beaters. Had a fucking full back win balon d'or one year and was one of the top scorers in the squad because of his 18 free kick stat or whatever the fuck it was. But really, even average full back's put in a shift with half decent tactics. But the whole point is, the football world doesn't change so rapidly that all of a sudden certain tactics don't work or -x- position outperforms themselves in one calendar year after being useless the previous one. But that's how FM works.

Just to give an idea of how retarded SI and their match engine are this year though, some players are coming up with tactics where their strikers are scoring 90+ goals a season, where in previous versions netting 70 in a calendar year, let alone season, was like finding a unicorn.

And then there's shit like this:

I don't blame anyone still playing old ass FM's. It gets worse every year despite the dick sucking from reviewers and steam users who have been playing FM for 2 years.
