For the record, USA didn't just lose, it was humiliated. Trump used his political power to interfere with the game and they still lost and gave one of the most embarassing performances a national team has given in quite a while.
The commentators I was listening to were literally making fun of the players and Trump, which I've never heard before in a World Cup.

The goalie going for the ball when the defenders are no where close and the attacker is right there was the correct call. He fumbled the clearing strike and then passed it back and to the side were the attacker was. He made two awful mistakes in like 3 seconds.

The defense really sucked, and I think even if we got Mexico level accommodations, we still would have lost. I’d actually be embarrassed if we were only able to win with Mexico style tactics. You may as well forfeit the tournament in shame stooping to that level.

Let's not pretend the most corrupt organization in the world had to be pushed hard to make use of their "oops, a star player/important player for the host country got a red card, let's change that" rule.

What an absolutely disgraceful performance by the backline. The Fullbacks deserve a whipping for those first two goals absolutely. But that third goal was unforgivable on the part of the goal keeper.

The lack of defense does not really explain why he didnt kick the ball outward and instead attempted to kick it towards his empty net.Oh well

It was a shitty mistake but it's funny how the DEFENDER DIRECTLY BEHIND HIM SAW THE SHOT COMING DIRECTLY AT HIM AND COULDN'T FUCKING KICK IT INTO SPACE.

Like man, once he saw what was going on he should have just thrown everything he could at getting into position to block it. Hell, get a red card for deliberate handball. Anything but looking like a complete gormless retard and getting a slight tap on it before it flies straight into the goal.

Which begs the question why the the goalie was in front outside the box while the fullback was in the box in front of the goal in the first place. That sort of play would get you bitched out by the coach if you were playing in a girls under 10 recreation league.

True football heritage here. Their fans wants to win at any costs, even the slightest way to incur and make them irritated is true. It is a fan way to support their team. Just like chanting EEEEEEEEEHHHH PUTO is part of mexican sports culture.

Now the American government rigging the Iran ENTIRE actual talent is something much worse because it isn't done by fans doing this to help their team win even by a little it is done by the actual hosts in a malicious way.
