It could be stress from all of the American happenings and she can't even retreat to her own community to get away from it all. I'd be depressed too if I can't have my own community as a getaway from real life troubles as people on Twitter talk about fascism, racism, blah blah blah all the time.
Just wondering, does she live near a place that has a riot or occupational protest? That could be a factor too.
