I'm kind of out of the loop here. I remember seeing claims that Veilguard had an all-time high of 70k-90k but when I looked at the Steam Charts for the game it said the all-time high was 53 thousand something. What's going on?

There was something weird going on with Steam Charts, it showed 0 players playing it at one point even. SteamDB is still accurate though.
The numbers were botted. I have no proof, but my bones tell me it is so.

The Emmrich stuff as a whole was always something that really bother me about Veilgaurd. Liches are very evil and any good group of heroes would have killed him the second they realized he was doing necromancy. Do you happen to know if they go into the back story of Manfred? With how childish the game is I'm curious on how they handle what is basically just post death slavery,
I haven't gone that far in the game, but from what I can gather from YouTube clips, Manfred is given the Sandal treatment - a speshul undead that can eventually speak and do magic and needs Emmrich to be his daddy and mentor. This is, I think, a choice you can make in Emmrich's personal quest - save Manfred and let Emmrich be his Bodahn, or let Emmrich ditch Manfred and embrace lichdom.

In this game, liches aren't evil. They are a super secretive order that has been working for ages to protect the world. The Green Lantern corps of Thedas, if you will.

What is the deal with liches anyway? They were never in DA before?

As for wynne-she opposes you if you want to purge the circle, she’s a senior enchanter and clearly wants to save the circle. Rather than let Irving and the rest die. (Including children).

Circle purges are ugly and violent things, there’s no doubt about that. Origins does a great job of showing why in some cases they are considered necessary in universe.

Hmm, that reminds me. Why is it that we never have a full Templar as a companion? Alistair didn't complete his training, Cassandra is a Seeker, Cullen is never a companion.

Ser Barris was a popular character, more so than Fiona who did nothing of value at all in Dragon Age Inquisition, so it feels like a wasted opportunity to not let a templar has their day in the sun.

Same reason why it was a little odd having Kirkwall's guard-captain regularly leaving her post to traipse around with Hawke on adventures. If you establish a character is a member of some rigid in-universe faction, there has to be a good reason that their life revolves around the player's whims.

Does Carver count?

having played both male and female V i do think female V did a better job
I can't take her seriously because she sounds like she is going to burst into tears, and God forbid you ever try to be threatening.

No, but they ARE in DnD and this is very transparently trying to be a Forgotten Realms game, rather than Dragon Age.

It's nice to see more appreciation for Mark Meer voicing Male Shepard. I've always said, dude made Shepard sounds like a military man, while Jennifer Hale made her Shepard sounds like a theater student auditioning for a dramatic space opera.

The more I look into the lich stuff the dumber it seems. So they just sit around some place called the Grand Necropolis which is located in Nevarra and do blood magic all day while pretending to take care of dead bodies. They are also undermining the king rule and slowly taking control of the area. The wikipage make it seems like their actions are common knowledge and it's normal for this stuff to be happening in Nevarra. Am I wrong to think that this would end in a exalted march if they were still using the old lore?

Eh? Inquisition implies the death mages get a lot of leeway and the whole necropolis/obsession with death is a Nevarran cultural trait. All the mortalitisi/mourn watch(I swear they changed the name because the former is hard to pronounce) do is basically manage it and act as custodians for the dead and the spirits that inhabit their bodies.

Which is…mostly what Emmerich does? Right?

it happened so easily
honestly, the circle deserves it
The worst part is Uldred was fooling Irving and Gregoir for years. He kept them in the dark and even used occasional apprentices as bait-letting them find a text on blood magic, then get them caught-no one doubts he’s loyal.

His entire conspiracy was both apparently years(or at least months) in the making and it turned the circle into a charnel house in a matter of hours.

Take a look at how they Disney-fied liches. THEY ARE DUMB.

"Come let Tricky Lichy give you all a hug, kiddies!"

Apparently this game is barely breaking even. Factoring their ad cost, I wonder if they are making money at all.

Too bad EA is too big to fail unlike Ubisoft.
Disney has had flop after flop on the Stars Wars franchise, the parks are losing money as well, they are not going under. As much as I would like to see the necromanced corpse of Bioware finally die, we will have to wait and see.

Still glad this turd failed miserably, because it will show game developers that this garbage does not sell, even with a legacy behind it.
