If I'm not mistaken, the Blight is the result of basically making the titans Tranquil: cutting them off from their dreams, i.e. cutting them off from the Fade. The Blight itself is those dreams, basically just a big ol' ball of anger and evil that corrupts whatever it comes into contact with. It raises some interesting questions, like what happens if you expose a Tranquil mortal to the Blight. Would they be immune? Extra susceptible? Who knows! It's highly doubtful we'll ever get a competent followup on any of this.
Even in origins it’s notable that there is some sort of disconnect between the blight and the fade. Connor says he can’t “see” the warden the very well(the desire demon can’t see the warden in the fade, at least not without effort). So the blight being tied to tranquility or a related process isn’t out of left field.

At this point, I think you can just be relieved the game has resolved a lot of these questions. I don’t particularly like the blight explanation. But w/e

Audra Bowling of RPGFan gave it a 95/100.

It's oddly upsetting that this shitty game seems to have provided an actually interesting explanation for the Blight. The apocalypse being the result of the gods not being allowed to dream is downright Kirkbridian.

I'd consider that incontrovertible proof they're working from some existing document, because none of the creative typists responsible for this flaming bag of shit could ever have come up with it.

You're right, armor should not emphasize the female form, it's completely ridiculous and impractical. Obviously we would never have armor that would emphasize sexual features.
Now name a modern-day video game that even has this.

Wasn't it actually more than half circa Inquisition? Dragon Age for some reason really captured a massive foid audience, probably because it lets you marry an incredibly handsome joss whedon character and literally become a princess.
No. If I had to guess (as I can't read the mind of every woman), it's probably because fantasy is easier to digest and understand than sci-fi. And DA is more tactical (or, at least, Origins was) than Mass Effect, which just abuses the shit out of the cover system.

That's likely why things were info-dumped on Rook through cozy safe space natter. These people have no other idea how to do things properly. Just be happy it's not delivered through characters standing with dead eyes and using the same recycled fidgeting/arm flailing/arm crossing poses every 5 seconds in a way that makes zero sense!

@Ishtar At this stage, I honestly don't care anymore about the lore. I half expect a revelation that humans are speshul butt babies from the reunion of Glenda and Elphaba.

BioWare ponied up for various identity politics consultants to make sure they had positive trans and nonbinary representation; what they really needed was exposition consultants.

Imagine if each of your testicles were stretched out, then encased in a sphere of armor. That's what boob armor is. It doesn't make sense from any standpoint, so it should die off.
Imagine if you were a stupid nigger faggot talking out of his ass.

Throughout history, armor has served an aesthetic purpose, not just practical. The latter is a reddit talking point. Go to a fucking museum and look at ancient and medieval armor. You had basic shit from pecs and 6packs on your armor, to highly intricate designs with all sorts of goofy shit strapped on.
And during those times, men were the only ones participating in actual field combat.

Now, extrapolate this and apply it to a fantasy world. If men were willing to spend time, effort and money to look cool while slaughtering their enemies on the battlefield, wouldn't woman combatants also do this, with even more zeal? Cleopatra soaked her boat sails in gallons of perfume, just so niggers would sniff her from miles away and know she'll be arriving soon.
Boob armor? That's the most basic shit they'd actually do.
If women were actual field combatants, we would see so much extravagant and attention whoring armor, it would make what we see in games look as modest as a nun's outfit.

Twitch Viewer numbers, close to Dragons Dogma 2, but hasn't passed it yet. Only has half the amount of peak channels as SM2

Twitch numbers are tricky because Asmongold is meme-streaming it currently and is responsible for ~35,000 of those peak viewers, if not more. Right now he has 50% of all DAV viewers on Twitch but I sure wouldn't count that as "positive" interest in the game.

I don't know if any huge streamers streamed DD2 or WH40k as a joke.

Just got done with the elf forest. Damn, what a fun chapter. Nothing like a good old-fashioned genocide against an inferior race. TED/Total Elf Death always puts a smile on my face.
i'm probably going to make a lot of can you imagine remarks but can you really imagine modern bioware letting you commit genocide that is arguably justified against an elf that was victimized becoming a victimizer of far greater proportions?

Which is funny, because the game they are comparing it to is a small, semi-linear adventure game that to this day still struggles to run on 90% of computers. And at that, it BARELEY had more players (Only around 10k more).

It's not really the "Own" they think it is.

What they need to be comparing it to is other single player, story focused RPGs that released this year.

meh the thing is artists for a while have been fags. its just they were kinda cautious when the remnants of a sane society prevented them from being too explicit

seriously why does it seem like any game that includes a ton of this shit always does massive constant expo dumps? it seems to be an unerring constant. surely you can make exciting ways even to include all this gay shit. i can think of enough lgbt questlines to make my own fag game if i so chose and wanted to kill myself. granted i have a bias so most of the ones i imagine are more comedic.

this. im so fucking tired of women plastering sex everywhere but then oh for games we need to be chaste. we live in the age where women are at their most flirtatious and promiscuous and least modest but we have to for some reason portray this false reality that women hate sex and hate being seen as sexy while the women who cheer the decision on dress like hookers far worse than the models criticized and just openly talk about sucking their followers cocks.

oh but no its totally unrealistic that women would use sex over brawn in a fantasy setting its unheard of. its degrading to women which is why all the women criticizing it do it irl.

I know, I've seen 'em. Pecs are already flat slabs of muscle with a thin layer of fat. You could easily modify armor to accommodate them or accentuate them without A: looking retarded and B: creating a weak point in the armor.

No, they wouldn't. (Here's a hint as to how I know: I'm a woman.) If you're wearing a cuirass that's made of steel and weighs 20 lbs., why the FUCK would you decide to add on even more steel to it, make it heavier, weigh you down, and thus make you a slow-moving target? Think with your head for once, and not your dick. Retard.

So it beat the records of a company that just stopped effectively boycotting all of their new games from Steam, and a company that last released a game 4 years ago, last released an actual rpg 7 years ago, none of which launched on Steam.

The only real competition was Jedi survivor, which had a disastrous release and no replayability of any sort.

Also of note

Its peak is still 15k below a game released by an at the time relatively obscure studio (outside of the dedicated rpg fan group, which was still in a massive slump at that point), using a completely forgettable IP, during a time of stagnation and obscurity for RPGs.

All this while releasing during an open time for RPGs, on a holiday, not long after another game (BG3) massively reignited mainstream interest in RPGs. The deck could not have been more stacked in their favor and they still floundered.

The combat in Veilguard sucks. It feels nothing like Dragon Age. The optimization is horribly poor. My system should have no problem with this game and my system is straining to run it properly. No ability to "ping" as in Inquisition to make potential loot light up so if you don't go over every nook and cranny you can miss things. Absolutely no ability to control the zoom level. This one really sucks. In previous Dragon Age's I always liked having control of the zoom so I could either get a good look at the battlefield or zoom in if something looked important. Now you can't. I guess they're trying to say their auto zoom is flawless and will let you see what you need to see? So far, that is not true, especially in battle. The character models are ugly. I feel like I'm in a Pixar cartoon. The voice acting, at least to my ear, seems extremely flat. I have never heard anything like that before in previous Dragon Age games.

Overall, this doesn't feel like a Dragon Age game at all.
