Seriously. Say what you will about Sera, but she has a distinctive voice and viewpoint, and while she might be a bog standard lolsorandom mischief maker who hates authority, she does more than just spout dreary cliche dialogue that's about as interesting as dishwater. The VA performance is also a helluva lot better than anything I've heard in Veilguard, which makes me suspect the VA direction was absolute garbage.

The overarching plot started going to shit with DA2, I'm honestly not too upset with the endings considering. The original creative director of DA: Origins, James Ohlen, was called away to work on the Kotor MMO, and IMO the series died there.

The team that took over from him never had a long-lasting vision of what the series should be, and they weren't business savy enough to push back against the EA executive meddling. When the founders left in 2012 Bioware was absolutely screwed.

The IP suffered from identity crisis, lack of vision, greedy DLCs, trend-chasing, and poor leadership. Every subsequent installment just got gradually worse. The fact that this game even happened after 10 years of development hell is a miracle...

Y’know, I still give DA2 something of a pass for a lot of it’s issues (ie. the game was literally cobbled together in a year, hell I think they were still making Origins Expansions while DA2 was in production, considering it released maybe 6 months after Witch Hunt) but the fact that a character in Veilguard is making Sera look like she isn’t the bottom of the barrel as far as Dragon Age Companions?

So for the first time I decided to be a mage in Inquisition. I thought rift mage could be a good specialization. The problem is that those damn Venetori Tomes are literally nowhere. Looked it up and they can be found in the Exalted Plains but I pretty much completed that area aside from the letters and caches quests.....idk what to do. Any experts wanna weigh in?....
