Well, arguably, what they've done with 10 years seems a lot worse.DA2 main fault was that it was rushed too shit.
18 months. That is not enough time to even finished a draft:

But then where's the moral if you're just forced by the game to go and help rescue her from the consequences of her criminality regardless? Subversion isn't a goal in and of itself but modern writers seem to think it's the pinnacle of their craft.I might be remembering it wrong, but Isabella seems like a good subversion of that archetype before it became common and exaggerated. Like at the first playthrough you'd think she was wrongly accused and you have to help her since she's a party member only to find out that no, she is 100% at fault and deserves to die for the danage she's caused.
The most revealing point of that is you can hand her over to the Qunari, but then you learn she escaped anyway. The game won't let her actually suffer the consequences of her actions. But then where's the moral if you're just forced by the game to go and help rescue her from the consequences of her criminality regardless? If you could suspect her and do something about it beforehand, or make a meaningful choice when it was revealed - there's value there. But there's neither, right?
Good Lord, a Bum Tickley strip that actually made me laugh, and *not at him*.Even Bum Tickley chimed in to this

I mean, I just want to see if it’s another AAA trash fire, and if it’s what finally get’s Nu-Ware Ol’ Yeller’d.Wow, 40 pages in just over a month. You all must be super excited for Dreadwolf.![]()
I disagree. Inquisition had a surprisingly good cast, minus the elven hobgoblin.I remember liking Avelin also. The companions in 2 were pretty memorable, definitely better than Inquisition.
Don't do Wynne dirty like that.Vivienne throws a curveball in the mage-templar debate by being the first major character being pro-circle.
True, I meant from DA2 onwards where the conflict gets way more radical. In DA2 we only have Bethany to be pro-circle, and that only if she is even alive and in the circle.Don't do Wynne dirty like that.
Beyond that you're absolutely correct.
And then even if you hand her to the qunari she just escapes offscreen because fuck you. Someone at BW must be really attached to the character because when you fuck over other characters like Anders and Fenris it tends to stick from what I recall. But then where's the moral if you're just forced by the game to go and help rescue her from the consequences of her criminality regardless? Wonder how she's dealing with Meredith's 'resurrection'. "You had one job, Hawke!"Yeah, her getting away pissed me off. Never recruited her after that. Bitch will sit at the bar through the whole first act without a word from me. She's been in some of the novels and/or comics, and she's in Inquisition's multiplayer game for whatever reason. Bioware loves the slutty pirate whore.
Meanwhile, goddess Aveline is kicking the shit out of Sebastian Vael and holding down Kirkwall, but heaven forbid we see any of that.
