despite being an Afrikan and an adulteress, i actually like Vivienne. in my 3 playthroughs, she is Always the Divine in the end.

she's not a dyke, unlike goblina sera and that pajeet advisor.
and she keeps every reasonable mage under the Chantry in Check.
lastly, she is at minimum cordial with the inquisitor.
Which is the pajeet? Josephine is Spanish/Italian coded, and Cassandra is vaguely German/Eastern Europeanish?

Dorian looks the most Indian but has a stereotypical fruity British accent.

Sera actually talks like a chav British working class “I’m not racist go Ngubu” meme.

I honestly can’t think beyond skin tone of a character in the dragon age series that’s actually coded as African. City elves-gypsies. Dalish-native Americans, human factions-usually a European caricature. Orlais-France, Ferelden-England, Nevarra-maybe Germany/Spain? Antiva-Italy, Rivain-a mixture of Spain and Italy, Tevinter-Greece/Byzantium. The free marches-Starkhaven is Scotland, Kirkwall doesn’t really have a defined accent or culture.

The Qunari are obviously non White but they don’t fit an Islamic stereotype at all.

There are lots of brown skinned people in the games, but no nation or region (beyond the Qunari and the elves) that you are supposed to equate with “India” or Africa.

I guess Rivain can be vaguely associated with the Caribbean? Maybe given Isabela is basically the female jack sparrow/brown slut. And they have looser attitudes on mages and an animist religion the chantry has little influence over also an island that’s a big pirate port.

What Is this retard talk about post bg3.
This game Will be even More fag than that piece of shit
People think BG3 is some amazing piece of gaming because you get a lot of choice in how approach the combat, since that's the only part where you have any real freedom. The choices you're presented regarding story shit boils down to "fuck over these people, or help them" and nothing more. It's also extra retarded because, like you said, the game is pozzed out the asshole. Complete with letting you make an 8 foot giga jacked viking man with a pussy and some 5'4 elf waifu with a cock and mustache. Not to mention all the random faggots you meet in the story or the idle chatter you hear from NPCs about them being faggots.

This game most likely won't go as hard as BG3, in terms of character creation letting you choose what style of cock you want on your female character, but they'll go harder in dialog and companions 100%.

BG3 is one of the few actual RPGs that have released over the last few years, so it's more that it's artificially being propped up by people desperate for content like a man dying of thirst in a desert. I remember journos crying that the game was "too good" and "set expectations too high for other games" when it released, so I can definitely see other studios chasing that same high without understand why the game succeeded. Obviously, the fag stuff will stay and it will likely be even worse, but in BG3 you can overlook some of it when you have a decent game to play. Nu-Dragon's Age? Not so much.
BTW only the first game was decent, I have no clue how you ruin a franchise this quickly or what people saw in DR2 and DR:I.

When I played Andromeda, I felt like you could avoid the gay stuff so long as you didn’t take specific dialogue options.

I hear for more recent games it’s shoved in your face in such a way you can’t avoid it. Unless you just don’t recruit or engage with certain NPCs period?

Also it’s bizarre to me people are talking about BG3 having an influence on DA4? When DA4 has been in development for over a decade? And apparently BG3 was a surprise success?

I seriously doubt anything good or bad about BG3 influenced the development of a contemporaneous game.

(If DA4 does well, BioWare may go back to an Origins style game seeing as it is viable).

There is no reason to believe they wouldn't. BG3 turned out to be a big success, and nu-Bioware are a bunch of hacks. Of course they're going to chase the next trendy thing, just like Duke Nukem Forever did.
>Bioware may go back to Origins style game
lol, lmao even
They don't have the talent, they might throw in some nostalgia for member berries but they simply cannot make a game like this anymore. It's telling that instead of making a new Mass Effect game after Andromeda we simply got a remaster for the original three, there is simply nothing new under the sun anymore. Except for Anthem, maybe.

Didn't Bioware admit they completely restarted development several times? This is going to be one of those minimum viable slop products with like 1.5-2 years of real dev time.

The lead writer is either a soyboy or pooner (can't tell) with a died blue sidecut and mustache so that already tells you what kind of game to expect.

I'm thinking something along the lines of Starfield if it was in a fantasy setting, aping popular games like BG3 like the former aped No Man's Sky, and yet somehow it will be more woke than any of them.
This isn't the same Bioware that gave us Mass Effect, KOTOR or original DA. This is a new team filled with the same talentless hacks every other studio has these days. The fact it is taking so long to release in the first place just about says it all.
For some reason, I am getting Suicide Squad vibes off of this too. I guess we will see.

That's the thing though, it was a surprise success in an environment where AAA product is starting to fail with worrying regularity. Given that Dragon Age at least ought to be in roughly the same space, a lot of people (myself included) think that BioWare will try to ape the one recent hit in the genre as opposed to following whatever design process got them Anthem and ME:A.

Wasn't DA:I heavily influenced by Skyrim because it was the big game at the time, thus the giant zones of nothing that had no story significance?

If it was, I don't see that at all. DA:I was just another game in a long list around the time where publishers mandated an open world from devs who didn't have the skill or time to make a good one.

One of the things I remember from Inquisition is for some reason Bioware refused to let you wear your armor in the camp so you had to sit on the throne and issue edicts in these goofy ass footy pajamas that looked fucking stupid and ruined pretty much every serious cutscene set in the keep.

I'd say its in part because the kind of RPG that BG3 is - actually being a proper CRPG rather than "we bolted on a perk tree, so RPG!" - is enough of a rarity these days, and it being as successful as it is doubly so. For all the faults one can have with the game, Larian put in work on it.

Add in that this series started its life as a spiritual successor to Baldurs Gate, the comparisons write themselves.

Considering that Rocksteady is getting downsized because of that abomination, we can only hope the same happens here. Seriously, what's with what seems like every other AAA Title bombing harder than Hiroshima, did the budgets just get too high to realistically make back what's spent on these things nowadays?

Super-high budgets and all the competent people hopping ship to go indie in some way, either because of pay or because they didn't want to stick around in the modern hyper-corporatized AAA game dev scene.

It's probably the loot crates that ruined gaming, if you ask me

Here is a fun comparison: Are there any photos of DA:O era of Bioware that we could compare to the current stock?

Even more fun: let's look at someone who was around back then and somehow survived the Napoleonic invasion of Russia that was Dragon Age 4's development cycle.

Patrick Weekes, taken from a photo on GiantBomb where his only credits are Mass Effect 1 & 2, so figure this image is from 2010 (maybe 2012, given he's wearing an N7 hoodie, which might have been from a ME3 tie-in):

I don't know what disease troons and pooners have got, but I fear it's horribly contagious.

Man has a really weird midlife crisis. Should have stuck to buying expensive cars or collecting stamps like real boomers do.

Unpopular opinion, but apart from the winter palace Nutcracker uniform(it genuinely looks like that old play) I like the clothes you wear at Skyhold? It looks form fitting and yet also not out of place?

Also why would a judge make decisions in armor? (Though having some sort of special judicial vestment or something for judgement cut scenes would have been nice!.

Which is the pajeet? Josephine is Spanish/Italian
maybe my eyes are just broken/ faulty.

i just see her skin tone, and some weird mole somewhere. i then associate the physical features to jeet. i'm not classifying her based on in-game lore or canon. just what i see, and then what irl ethnicity my mind connects it to.

Josephine comes off as...the most in line with actual European romances and such? Delicate yet educated noblewoman, (not a warrior or a spy master), you can have something of a courtly romance with her, even fight her betrothed in an honor duel.

I sort of read "Spanish/south European genteel noble lady"-she's even managing a household, writing letters, soothing easily offended frenchmen, etc...

IDK she actually feels the most "authentic" to me, whereas DA tends to be mostly pseudo medieval with a lot of modern tropes and conventions pasted onto only a vaguely medieval setting.

Well, he’ll fit right in with the writing since 2 I’m sure, sad as that is.

Cult politics makes you lose all ability to function, rant like a lunatic to anyone, and forgo basic hygiene/grooming.
Why don’t we treat it like the substance abuse problem it clearly is again?
