I am sure that many people here would have been familiar with Dr Ludwig's channel on YouTube which posted popular German folk songs. Well it's gone:

Here is what happened based on available information:
- Channel Termination: The channel, which held a large archive of historical German music, was deleted, along with its playlists.
- Reasoning: The removal is believed to be connected to violating YouTube's policies regarding controversial content, with speculation mentioning the removal of a video featuring the song "Erika," a popular German marching song.
- Reaction: Many users on forums like Reddit and community posts have expressed disappointment, with some arguing the channel was a valuable historical archive. As of April 2026, some fans were attempting to organize efforts to restore the channel.

erstmal danke ich meinem Freund Karl Sternau, dass er diese Nachricht verbreitet!Youtube hat erneut zugeschlagen und meinen Hauptkanal Dr. Ludwig, meinen neuen Kanal Ludwig Werdenfels und sogar inaktive Nebenkanäle ohne Vorwarnung oder die nötigen drei Strikes gelöscht.
Die Begründung ist wie immer nicht konkret, es wird nur allgemein darauf hingewiesen, dass die Richtlinien gebrochen wurden. Beschwerden werden automatisiert sofort abgelehnt, der Support hilft nicht weiter.Youtube hat also erneut willkürlich alles zerstört, was ich mir über die Jahre aufgebaut habe.Wie gehts jetzt weiter?
Da mir diese Situation nicht neu ist, versuche ich natürlich alle Mittel anzuwenden, um diese ungerechte Behandlung umzukehren und auch der Gang zum Anwalt kommt in Betracht. Ob das funktioniert weiß ich jedoch nicht.

As always, the reasoning is not specific; they only make a general reference to the fact that the guidelines were violated. Appeals are automatically rejected immediately, and support is of no help
.So YouTube has once again arbitrarily destroyed everything I’ve built up over the years.
What happens next? Since this situation isn’t new to me, I’m naturally trying every means possible to reverse this unfair treatment, and I’m also considering consulting a lawyer. Whether that will work, however, I don’t know.

Apparently, Dr Ludwig channel is thinking of starting a lawsuit against YouTube and has started a GoFundMe
