The majority of staff of the streaming service DC Universe has been laid off, as has editor-in-chief Bob Harras and multiple other executives on the publishing side.

Monday's WarnerMedia layoffs have affected a significant number of high-level figures at comic book powerhouse DC, multiple sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

I'm still not sure if Get Woke Go Broke is actually a thing, but I'm glad wokeshit might be dying out. If only by the fact that parent companies are starting to lose the fat.

SJWs are literally running the entire comics industry into the ground and when you try to point that out to them, as I have, you get "it's being done by women and minorities, so whatever"

Pretty much. I can't exactly say they saved anything but their own asses, really. It's not like they had this massive industry campaign to understand why anime and manga got to be so big as it got and clean up after all of the Dark Age's rubble.

They've been trying to make her into a strong feminist icon rather than the sympathizable Joker-obsessed maniac she was created as. The fucking Harley and Ivy romance comics are a disgrace and a sign of how far warped DC's perception of Harley's become. Really hate the slutty new look the Nu52 gave her too.

Meh, it's probably dying largely for the same reason newspapers are dying, but I'm sure the woke shit isn't helping.

Maybe 3 years ago, but DC has since become almost as woke as Marvel.

Especially in the case of Vertigo, which put out Border Town, one of the ugliest and most hateful pieces of SJW media I've ever seen, which thankfully got canceled when it's creator was outed as a sex pest (because SJWs are massive hypocrites in addition to everything else)

Not to mention giving Zoe Quinn a comic, 'nuff said.

And all that resulted in Vertigo being completely shuttered, all the great comics and critical acclaim Vertigo had in the past and it was all tossed away like garbage and SJWs don't even give one single iota of a fuck because "muh women and minorities! MUH WAHMUN AND MINURATEES! MAH WURMURN UND MORNARATEAS!"

DC hasn't been as obnoxious as Marvel in kneeling to the new god of 'diversity', but they've been at it for at least four years, and unlike Marvel they don't have those MCU revenues to back up their woke bullshit.

I have hundreds of Batman comics, but I've not bought a new comic in years because I know it will suck, and even if it seems okay at first it will turn into SJW horse shit after a few issues. I'm the nerdy clientele the comic book industry needs but I've been actively spurned.

I've always been interested in what a proper casting director could do with the hundreds of Brazilian applicants that would've made a perfect Starfire. Not that it matters now, she's been swallowed by the social justice leviathan.

Who they are trying to pander to are Twitter assholes who don't actually read comics, but have body types like that and will glance at it, retweet it so they can say "YASSSSSSSS KWEEEEEEEEEN SLAYYYYYYYYYYYY SUCK IT YA INCEL MANBABIES!!!!" and then forget it ever existed 5 seconds later.

This is what comics have been reduced to, a "lifestyle brand" for assholes that don't actually like comics, they just like the fact that they've taken it away from people they don't like.

To be fair, I know superhero comics in the 2000s were pretty controversial too, with a lot of fans not happy with the state of things then, from what I understand the issue was like a mirror image of today where people thought comics were "too edgy" (like Speedball turning into Penance for example or Spider-Man's "One More Day" storyline) as opposed to today's wussified, pussified stuff.

But hey, 2000s era comics were still preferable to now, at least the art was better, the girls were sexy and edgy is better than today's wussified, pussified bullshit.
