On the same day that the first issue of the mature readers Red Hood series was released in comic book stores, DC Comics has announced that it is cancelling orders for all future issues of the series, and will additionally be offering credit for all orders placed by retailers on the first issue, including any copies that may have already been sold to customers.

Red Hood was originally announced as an ongoing monthly comic book series set in the mainstream DCU featuring the Batman supporting character of the same name — Jason Todd, former Robin turned troubled anti-hero — as well as Helena Bertinelli, AKA the Huntress, as they both relocate to Louisiana, only to find trouble everywhere they look. To date, three issues of the series had been solicited for retailer orders, with the Red Hood #1 released September 10, 2025.

In a statement sent to retailers late September 10, DC wrote, "DC Comics cancels existing orders for Red Hood #2 and Red Hood #3, and any orders for future issues of the series. DC Comics will credit retailers for all invoiced copies of Red Hood #1, inclusive of copies that may have already been sold."

The second issue of Red Hood was intended for release October 2, 2025, and the third scheduled for a November 12 release. Both issues were announced with Gretchen Felker-Martin as writer, Jeff Spokes as interior artist, and Taurin Clarke as primary cover artist. Red Hood, intended as DC’s first ongoing series rated for a 17+ audience set inside the regular DC Universe, was announced in July 2025.

When contacted for reasons behind the cancellation, DC Comics provided the following statement: "At DC Comics, we place the highest value on our creators and community and affirm the right to peaceful, individual expression of personal viewpoints. Posts or public comments that can be viewed as promoting hostility or violence are inconsistent with DC’s standards of conduct."

Oh I bet that TV deal is done too then. Talk about crashing your career

Andy Wachowski has not done much of anything since 2021 and has not had anything greenlit that wasn't the matrix since around 2018. He makes deals and announces things but they never happen. This troon's TV deal was unlikely to lead to something actually being made even before what happened yesterday. But the idea that a TV project might happen probably got the comic book deal.

Again, thank the Wachowski troons. Warner Bros and DC are down with the gender woo woo
WB's most profitable business relationship is JK Rowling. This psychotic Troon wrote a book about murdering her. This seems the kind of thing that HR and Executives should probably red flag long before it gets to this point.

You act like they wouldn’t have the audacity. Turns out, they do!

Regardless of CURRENTYEAR real life bullshit or whatever, Jason Todd as the Red Hood was one of the cringiest, lamest most idiotic things DC ever came up with and I hope it's never mentioned again.

The best thing Jason ever did was die, it was all downhill after that.
Yeah, Jason Todd as Red Hood is DC counterpart of the Simpsons episode "the Principal and the Pauper" where Principal Skinner real identity was Armin Tazmarian.

I really doubt any brick and mortar comic book stores ordered more then single digits even though this is a highly stunning and very brave comic book.

DC did the right thing for once. Tell this dude to fuck off and try to sell his rage porn himself.

You must be new here. Go on reddit's TransBreastTimelines sub and search "tuberous". Or do the same search in the troon surgery threads here.
You're right. Looking again I realised I interpreted that second line of shade as the beginning of the other titty, rather than the beginning of the yawning chasm between moobs 🤦‍♂️

Just on a laugh I checked the nearest comic shops and no one has it. Not that I think it is worth having after looking at it for free. There is a plethora of comics that have had extremely poor sales and ‘rare’ status thanks to the decline in physical ownership. This one will probably not even be a footnote in a month.

^ It sounds like they were just looking for a way to kill a title that flopped, completely DoA. Red Hood is a weird name for a character who isn't a little girl, anyway.

You're just angry because DC made you gay, Tim Drake

We have a thread on Manhunt:

Jason Todd should've stayed dead. No version of his resurrection has ever made any sense.

And Helena already has a Robin:

Oh christ thank you for this thread. A book about how trannies have to kill ‘feral men’ and eat their testicles and take their HRT or succumb to the evil virus? What the hell.

Hey so just be warned, I washed out on finishing the full spork or whatever you’d call it. I don’t mind reading trash and I clearly love TALKING trash but Manhunt eventually stopped being fun to razz. It was fun for a while and I always regretted not seeing the project through. I may go back and finish it someday but that day is not today.
