how does he still get so many youtube views? I doubt he's botting so why do his videos always garner 1-2k views. His streams cap generally at 300-500.

Considering the the number of subs he had during The Golden Age of Yootoob it's not all too surprising to see him retain a couple thousand followers although I still don't put any stock in his notion that his audience on Twitch and Youtube are two entirely separate entities - the kojima world order did not splinter and evahlve into Wheelchairiers Sans Frontiers.

I would rather comfortably assume that the majority of the existing "fanbase" or what little is left of it at least is made up of detractors and that a fair portion of these long suffering souls actually have lives and machoor ahdilt responsibilities. The 500 who tune into the streams are more along the lines of the hardcore spectators and the primary DSP News Team - the guys who clip, react to and relay the up to the minute nonsense as it happens for the rest of us who don't have the time or stomach for it.

Anyone new who's unfortunate enough to be introduced to DSP in 2019 I imagine has to be coming in via his live, chill and ahnest streams or social media snippets. Phil is not attacting people with fun and entertaining content.. he just isn't. I just don't really believe many if any at all are finding him on youtube and if they are it's not even through his own channel rather it filters through the detractor network. People always seem to be sifting through the legacy channels (that's just an archiiive!) to find old material to re-post and mock accordingly.. some % of the views have to be coming from people like this. Then there are tales of fans who would support Phil even if they were going to be out of the house by letting his playlists run on their computers just to give darksydepoverty those much needed and much appreciated views.

All in I'm sure the numbers add up though you still see the odd game through the year that he forces himself through manage to rack up 6k views - typically first and final parts. Where the extra surge comes from I'm not sure I guess you have to remember that not everyone out there simply switched to twitch as their go-to hub for vidyagame previews and some still live in places with trash internet who can't deal with shitty data caps and as a result have less DSP salt in their diet each day.

And to think that DSP, who eagerly joined in on the ProJared hate and even tried to gain extra viewership/revenue from it, was telling a Cancel Culture sob story about himself during an "interview" just weeks ago.
