"Living in a body"!!
Like "As a person living in a fat body, I'm facing a lot of challenges".
You ARE your body, you are not just renting a space for your mind somewhere. I hate this distancing language so freaking much.
People saying "As a [insert lame shit here]".
Like someone needs to qualify that as a Texan they enjoy good barbecue.
Anyone who says "fun fact" followed by something not fun or interesting.

  • Starting sentences with "Hey so"
  • Adding errant "maybe"s into sentence, always paired with an imperative command
  • Ending what should've been a statement with a question mark
  • Ending sentences with (a passive aggressive) "Hope it helps!"
Three of these combined:
Hey so just wanted to let you know, I saw what you posted earlier and maybe be a liitttle more sensitive about the struggles trans folx go through on a daily basis?
You know I wasn't quite with you until you combined all of the above into that abomination. I don't really mind "hey so" but the passive-aggressive redditspeak just really ticks me off. "Maybe try being more [x]?" and "It's almost as if [x]" being the worst.

crashing out. I've griped about this before but damn it, I'll gripe again because it's at the very top of my internet slang hate list. It betrays total, absolute idiocy. And it's language that cheapens. People who suffer mental breakdowns and have to be committed are just "crashing out". Arguing a point passionately and getting a little carried away is "crashing out". Fucking hate this place.
Crashing out to me will always mean going to sleep from being too tired. Passing out if you will. It makes the most literal sense and I will continue using it that way.

I encountered the term "core memory" enough to search for its origin, since it sounds annoying I thought it was something that leaked from academia into regular usage, but no, its from a pixar movie apparently. I hate how you can't escape the trash that comes from movies and tv even if you don't watch any of it.

I'd like to add starting any sentence with "you do realize"
On it's own hearing it with my own ears it's nothing bad. Reading it just makes me disregard everything the poster is going to say, same as "As a *X*"

I guess it's like ghetto nigger babble, if I hear shit like "Ionknow" or "tryna" it might just go completely unnoticed, like you might not notice an accent. However if you type it out unironically I can only assume you're an absolute fucking nigger retard that actually thinks that's how the words are spelt.

Me too.

The key word for me is the "out" part. You're out. Kaput. Unresponsive.
If they would have come up with anything else to put with "crashing" that conveys losing your shit, I would be fine.

I was laying in bed when I suddenly felt the desire to create

Justice impacted.

I was filling out a survey and one of the questions was if I had been, “justice impacted.” Just for the hell if it, I asked the gal who gave me the survey what that term meant and she paused and admitted that she didn’t know either. I appreciated the honesty, so I left it there, but the term is now firmly lodged in my craw.

I'd add "say it louder for people in the back" to this.
