Consoomers / Consoomer Culture - Because if it has a recogniseable brand on it, I’d buy it!

Are you talking about class restraint issues? In other words people being forced stifle their own ambitions due politics or religious beliefs?
im talking about scams and easy money

usually theres a reason why people do it, its, well, easy and makes more of a net profit
but this is just a bad scam is all, its not rational to work this way when working better wouldnt actually be any harder

its like if you had access to a grand bakery but instead of selling delicious cakes for a higher price, even tho you COULD make them, you mixed boxed cake mixes together but then sold the result to homeless people for nickels and bottle caps
yes youre using cheap products but youre also selling cheap results, when you clearly have the skills and means to make something better and sell it for much, much more

I haven't bought a AAA game on release since Skyrim.
that not saying much in regard to how long ago you bought is, now is it

My guess is it's all a result of living under oppression and constantly being cowed into a state of submission. Rational thinking, high-IQ solutions, creativity, imagination--that all puts you into the radar.

Perhaps darkies are simply genetically inclined to have poor work ethic and make cheap easily broken shit.

Chinese Emperors used to pay their doctors when they were well and stop paying them when they got sick. This model is long overdue a reintroduction.
The mental health grift would crumble overnight.

Actually paying when the job is well done would solve a lot of issues. Less buggy games, more positive mindset since you're actually seeing the good shit, lower prices due to competition, etc.
that applies well to products and single-use services like games, but not so well to something like healthcare which a person is supposedly meant to engage with thruout their whole life

the "you pay only if the work was done so well than you no longer require it" model would be much better in things like healthcare, since its a continious service, not a product
but then again, i suppose healthcare IS sold to us as a product nowadays anyway... so its only fitting isnt it

Healthcare basically is a product anymore, from hip replacements to pills to supplements. And really that's people's fault for begging for it so much instead of taking it when they need it. That's the crux of many Consoomer issues

after going to the link on his TikTok profile, his website officially sells them for $3.50 and you can get a nice little 10% discount
View attachment 5207421

he states you can get them for $245-$250 but after a quick bing search, you can buy the shoelaces for $5 and can get an off-white sneaker, and still have money left over before you buy from this guy

its interesting how individuality has always been 'sold' to us
"hey kids, wanna be DIFFERENT and express YOURSELF? well come pick your choice of mask color to pair with your safe and inoffensive mainstream tv show tshirt and your side shave haircut. now THATS what i call being original, isnt that right, number #18873?"
Late reply, because I had my first holiday in 20 odd years:

From June, 1959. Seem familiar?

This might be a stupid question, but what is off-white in this context? Because I only know it as a colour, and the laces aren't even close to that.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=UyhsZE6QIJ4Jirard "The Completionist" is mad that companies won't let him buy old goyslop every new console generation.
I understand the concern. There are plenty of gems that become unaccessible due to out dated hardware or servers shutting down. But I would rather just have a DRM free PC port that fans can upkeep or companies just leave emulation projects alone than being forced to rebuy it every generation.

But his bit about how piracy isn't the solution and it gatekeeps normies is dumb as fuck.

For one, normies don't care about classic games, even if you make it easily accessible. Unless it is trending on twitch most people don't care. It is the same as other hobbies that do have easily accessible old media like movies, music, or books.

Two, if someone wants to play these old games, they are willing to jump though the hoops. And honestly the finding and trying to get shit running is part of the fun of the hobby too.

That's my real contention. Funkos are soulless, injection molded paperweights that fail at that even, since they're so light. A Gundam by contrast- may of which are made in Japanese factories too- knows what it is. A toy/ poesable statue that anyone can enjoy even without watching the show because, hey, cool robots. Same with Transformers to a extent. It all just matters that you don't get consoomed by it. That's the main problem with Funko Consoomers, it's never enough. Even when they run out of shelf space, instead of taking it as a sign, they just get another shelf, spend 80 bucks on a rare funko, and Consoom harder

And this right here is how you know that the guy is some combination of:

A) Corporate mindslave

B) Not actually in it for playing the games but instead the perceived status he has for owning them

C) A pussy who supports piracy but is too scared to say it (I highly doubt this as he is a Nintendrone and Nintendrones do not support piracy as a rule)

this is the same guy who gave the Big N a fat check by buying everything from the 3DS and Wii U EShops before they closed even though everything worth preserving was already was and the only thing comming out for them was shovelware or VC additions, and I expect Jirard to do the same when the switch's eshop reaches the choping block.

The best healthcare would be to prevent illness in the first place, with education and good habits for example but the liberal mindset is more about servicing problems not fixing them.

Pretty much anything in the world is superior to funkos but thats what makes it a very low hanging fruit.

As a welder, it makes little sense to me. Just like with products that are designed TO BREAK so you buy a new one (looking at you LG Fridges), simply maintaining a illness only benefits Big Pharma, no one else in the equation. But then they market and brand it and you end up seeing ads on TV for their super drug that works until you build a tolerance for it. When was the last time we had a cure, like for Polio? Wiped that fucker out other than a few samples in deep storage.

And that's for anything anymore. You had (and still do to a limited extent) semi trucks powered by Detroit Diesel engines that would last one million miles and possibly longer before needing a teardown. Now you have those Volvos that are lucky to make it to 300,000. Liberal mindset does equal cheaper goods yes, but also less quality

It's not a liberal vs conservative thing both sides are retarded about it. Conservatives reeee about how its their personal choice to make poor decisions while liberals tend to be draconian about enforcing health related policies on everyone. Just look at Covid restrictions or when NYC tried to ban large portions of soda.

One thing that frustrates me about the push to make standards more sustainable is the fact that replacing things constantly is also harmful for the environment. When old things that work fine but aren't up to a new standard have to be gotten rid of to make room for new things that are, it creates an enormous amount of extra waste compared to leaving things as they are. Like, what is the total impact of producing a new appliance that's nominally more efficient vs continuing to run an older one? I'm sure it muddies the statistics more than people who push for the new things would like to admit.
