Probably because said people include me, so I feel forced to accept it and embrace that in one sense but shun it in another.

This thread would be 1000x better if people stopped asking if they are a consoomer for buying or collecting x thing. Being consoomer is cringe, but being anxious about what Internet strangers might think about your Nendroid collection is even cringier.

Anyway, back to bad collections.

For me the line between consooming and just liking something is why you're buying it- is it for the shopping dopamine rush? Is it just to show off to others? There's nothing wrong with buying something because it's nice and you actually like it, assuming you can reasonably afford it. Even if you could theoretically make it yourself- maybe they'll do a better job, maybe the cost of an individual item relative to the necessary equipment doesn't work out well for the DIY approach, maybe you can spend your time better doing something else.

It turns into a problem when the object is just a method to stuff down the feelings and you're going to stick it somewhere as soon as it arrives and never look at it again (Kevin Gibes, Chantal, every deathfat or troon basically) or when you only bought it to impress others or inspire envy.

I bought some shit over the years hoping to sell to collectors actually at a higher markup in some years time knowing they'd probably hook themselves onto it.

Wonder if there's a way of selling to genuine people who just want to play a game or system again, at a lower rate than to people who dedicate themselves to collecting just to screw the cunts up lol

And the sad part is that they still consoom the overpriced make up since 2015. Some don't even use it, or if they do they just use one and buy the rest for bragging rights.

Some of the buyers aren't even women. $40 or more for this shit. Star Wars make up should be the kind of thing that's sold as part of an alien halloween costume kit or as a $5 dollar cosmetic kit for little girls.

The Disney consumerism in particular is probably the weirdest to me imo. It just seems like a borderline cult where they automatically love whatever is they do to almost fanatical levels even when it isn't that impressive, and all because they made musicals for kids. I mean obsessing over Disney is something that's been going in since the 90s and was always annoying but its something that I think truly reached its peak in 2013 with the release of Frozen. I've never seen people get so obsessive over a corporation on a large scale. I remember that even in the 90s and 2000s people and the media would joke about Disney's shit working conditions, the fading out of 2D or even joke about them being an evil corporation, but ever since 2013 the criticisms toward Disney just slowly disappeared from the mainstream, and groups that would call out their abandonment of 2D animation faded away to the point where they became minor discussions or a mute point. Doesn't help that they now own a tremendous chunk of the media industry, and people still treat this like a good thing.

Oh, they know their audience. There’s a few girls who have been doing it since age 11, including one who pretended to be 15… but was 13… and now has her own OnlyFans styled app (with a 17+ rating). Her YouTube channel gets discussed by lots of people, and their videos get demonitized, but the content they are discussing it monetized and is also sponsored by Bang Energy.

Isn't there some far-left source saying being clean-shaven is a sign of being a far-right neon nahtsee? A lot of guys look terrible with them and don't bother trimming them. I know I look better and it's a lot less work just running a razor over it.

Nobody ever really called me fat, but when I honestly took stock of myself a couple years ago, I definitely would have been made to do the truffle shuffle if I had been born in the 70's. Even what people think is "normal" nowadays is unhealthy.

Wonder why dead bedrooms are such a huge thing? Because both people are way too fucking fat and subconsciously both people are like "ew why would you want to fuck that?". So they get sick of each other and when you're not getting each other off regularly your tolerance for each others bullshit goes way down and its a spiral of nastiness that leads to breaking up.

So weak ass men who don't want to do what it takes to actually get to a biologically-healthy weight (or even worse, see being at a biologically healthy weight as being emaciated or some shit) can just grow a big bushy beard and slap the "manly meat eater" label on it. Maybe they can fool a similarly overweight chick into buying it for a while, but eventually she's gonna get sick of him jiggling so much when they're fucking and subconsciously shes gonna start to get sick of it.

Absolutely true. To put it in perspective, the fattest US state in 1990 was Mississippi, thinnest was Colorado or Utah (I forget). Flash forward thirty years, the thinnest state now (Utah) has a MUCH higher obesity rate than Mississippi did in 1990, and Mississippi's has tripled. It's a goddamn epidemic. Stop consooming food, people.
