Josh just posted an update to Go Fund Me. He says all orders are being refunded and no drawings will be shipped.

As of yesterday's MATI, he was saying the funds were going to be used for Chris' housing expenses for the near future (hotel, etc) and responding to Gunt tweeting at GFM he said that the funds were already cashed out and in the process of being forwarded to Chris, so putting pressure on GFM was useless on Gunt's part.

So was the GFM actually cashed out? Was it actually being transferred at one time? I'm not accusing anyone of dishonesty, it's very likely I misunderstood exactly what was said or what was happening behind the scenes. If I was wrong about something, let me know. I'm genuinely just looking for clarification.

If Josh is refunding the orders, that means no more GFM money, and I assume no help as far as housing costs are concerned. Is this Josh's way of cutting ties with Chris?

Edit: merged (non dimensionally) into the Everfree thread, this update has already been covered.

I wouldn't be surprised if every remaining pony con, if not every convention ever, bans Chris after today. Not so much because what he did is jaw droppingly horrible but because the kind of attention and behavior it'll attract at these things and Conventions have their own safety to consider.
I think Chris will be essentially blacklisted from any future con, he's just too notorious not to take notice of. Even if he does somehow manage to get off scot-free from this whole thing, his convention going days are essentially over. The one thing in his life that Chris enjoyed and had exposure to socializing with others will be permanently taken away from him.

My guess is that Josh still has the money, intended to give it to Chris for this situation based on his belief Chris didn’t really rape Barb, but Chris or evidence led Josh to believe it really did happen and that his best course of action is to refund the money and not get involved what could turn into a criminal case.

Alternatively, it could also be a preemptive measure to prevent the haydurs from filing fraud charges against Josh.

chris is mega-fucked if he doesn't get that hotel money. But refunding the money is the right call. from what null said i was under the impression that he was required to give the money to chris for some reason but it is good to hear it will be refunded.

Josh was on Rekieta's stream last night, and he said that while he had the money and could transfer it, he wasn't sure if he should, since Everfree had revoked Chris' ticket and so the money would not be used as advertised originally. Per GFM's ToS (ans the law, i believe) Null would not be able to keep the money himself. Rekieta recommended talking to GFM about having them refund the backers, and if that wasnt possible he might be forced to give the money to Chris because the GFM was set up on his behalf, and as stated previously, Null would not be able to keep it.

Josh did say though that the money could be used for emergencies though, so I'm not sure any actual fraud accusations could stick.

I'm dumb and lazy. Could you link to an archive of said stream if available?

Edit: not lazy, but still dumb.

He still has his $1600/month autism check coming in courtesy of Uncle Sam every month, rain or shine. That's more then enough to afford a hotel room or a cheap studio somewhere in bumfuck Virginia if he wants to. And keep in mind, he doesn't have to share that money with Borb for the mortgage payments on 14 Branchland Ct. now too if he won't end up coming back there.

Chris fulfilled commissions and the GFM said it'd cover general emergencies, so I feel legally secure sending it to him.
The GoFundMe was for sending Chris to Everfree NW, which has banned Chris from attending, so I feel legally secure refunding everybody.

I think at this point I'd be OK as far as fraud accusations go in either direction. I have legitimate reason for both actions.

Not to mention his notoriety now. He will never be able to set foot in a public space again with out someone yelling BAAAAARBBBBY

That's honestly what should happen, but you know the ilk who think pronouns matter over the fact that he sexually assaulted his aging mother are going to vouch for him because TRANS RIGHTS, LOL.

As for him affording a hotel room/studio, you also have to consider a LOT of factors here:

1) Chris might now be seen as a sex offender, if not outright registered as one in the future;
2) Chris is not employed and lives off of welfare;
3) Chris is mentally unstable and prone to violent outburts;
4) Chris is laden with debt and cannot prove that he can pay rent with any kind of consistency;
5) Chris is a slob who will outright destroy that apartment.

Any potential landlord is going to take one look at Chris and do a background check on him, uncovering one of more of these unsavory things about him.

The fact that Null was pleasantly surprised by Chris's responsibility in handling commissions just makes the rest of this even more of a slap in the face.

Good god, I'm sorry.

I sincerely think anyone who accuses you of anything untoward needs their dickhole glued shut.
Classic case of fucked if you do, fucked if you don't

If I'd donated I'd be good with you donating it even to a 3rd party or cause.

Sounds like whoever got the art also gets the refund, or I'm wrong on that

The one thing that people don't realize about Null is that, unlike every retarded Twitter puritan going "KIWI FARMS KILLS PEOPLE", he actually tried to help Chris.
He organized the care package when his house burned down, he stopped the Idea Guys from extorting Chris, and tried to help him get on his feet with commissions and a GoFundMe to get him to a convention, which would have undoubtedly been one of Chris' greatest triumphs in life, as it were.

....the depressing punchline is that this is Chris-Chan we're talking about. It's an expectation that if something good comes his way, he'll fuck it up, either through his arrogance, his outright stupidity, or both. Granted, not everything bad that happens to Chris is his fault, but in the cases that it was, it always boils down to Chris doing something he really, REALLY shouldn't, and the last few things on that checklist borders on (and has now crossed into) rape territory (Catherine, TooManyGames, and now this.)

Again, I'd feel far worse for Chris if he just learned. But he can't because of his upbringing and his autism.

Damn. I really wanted that traced drawing that Chris originally made for someone else, then said was actually for my commission. I will never be free as a bird to shit post, now.
