"I play female characters cause they're hot and I'm not gay" fans when they romance male NPC's with said character (and play the game entirely in first person too)
What is it's to romance aliens in mass effect 1?
Friend of mine always uses the cope of not wanting to look at a dude even when the game is first person. Now in rare circumstances it's acceptable when it effects your hitboxes. In titanfall 1 the female pilot was smaller and completely tucked her body in when jumping making it a massive advantage over the male pilot model, also its true that elites have the same hitboxes as spartans but I swear it was impossible to headshot them from behind.

:lossmanjack:
That's still cope and the reason there were so many Elins on Tera.

It entirely depends on how I feel at the moment of whatever I’m playing, but I don’t feel ashamed for playing as a woman in a third person game because I like looking at them. Not even necessarily the tits and ass, that’s whatever. Tell me a lady in full plate armor isn’t awesome.

What a fucking stupid topic.

Yes.

You should be able to choose to be a female character in games that have that feature, regardless of anything and everything.

Having a guy play a Tiefling is much more of a warning sign than him playing a female character.
WTF is a Tiefling?

.....

As for topic, imagine being so worried about being called gay/troon that you need people's permission to play a video game a certain way.

Some older games when choosing the playable female character meant the campaign was made slightly easier, like in the case of picking Jill Valentine from the first Resident Evil game. I can see someone playing as both characters from Resident Evil 1 as normal but if that guy plays as Jill almost always, that nigga is weak, gay and is 100% cutting off his penis.

The only time I ever picked the female MC was Pokemon Black and White 2 because the male MC had this retarded hairstyle and it really bugged me to look at. Nowadays it wouldn't matter so much because newer Pokemon games let you customize your hairstyle and hat. Otherwise, I don't think about choosing the opposite sex in a video game because I do not care about which MC looks better.

If the female has a different mechanics and/or story compared to the male (like in Scarlet Nexus, and to a lesser extent the Mega Man ZX games), then I'll play both. Otherwise, I'll generally play the dude.

I play whichever character looks or sounds the most pleasing to me ... Cyberpunk 2077 I don't think I could play with the male V voice acting, he sounds cringe and obnoxious,

More or less the same for me. I default to a guy, but Cyberpunk's sounded like he was trying a Jesse Pinkman impression. The AI voice mods that I tried are still kinda trash, but I can at least stand the female VA.

Here's an interesting data point: WoW rated PvP gamemodes are dominated by males choosing "body type 2" (female) characters. They also always have been. The game doesn't track this difference and even addons like the Census don't check on it, but if you play the game, it's totally impossible not to notice.

Here's the situation on Retail: https://worldofwarcraft.blizzard.com/en-us/game/pvp/leaderboards/3v3
But it's much the same on Classic: https://ironforge.pro/pvp/leaderboards/US/3/

It's even weirder how it gets slightly closer to even in both versions of the game if you look at RBG rating instead of 2s/3s.

When I create a character, it can range from an average guy, to a malformed abomination with impossible proportions and purple skin, to a hot girl. Projecting yourself onto the characters you play as is just something I don't do, which is why I can play a game as whatever and walk away without brain damage.

The choice of games rather than the choice of game character is also just a better method for determining warning signs of trooning out. Someone isn't at risk to troon out because they picked to play May in Pokemon Emerald, they are at risk because their favorite game series is Pokemon.

In games with character creators that are more robust than five or six presets, I'm more interested with the potential eldritch abomination I can create than anything else. In games with preset characters, I don't care. If the character plays well, I'll use it.

Projecting yourself on to a virtual avatar beyond "this is a tool to interact with this world" is honestly pretty gay, especially so if its not a custom character. You (not you specifically) are not "Master Chief", you're Charles, the fat gay neckbeard working a shitty 9-5 with no real talents, skills or achievements to speak of, and you will never be Master Chief or anything even close to approximating Master Chief.

The people who make themselves as a character in a game with customs are easily the biggest faggots of all. You can be an orc, a nigger, a kitchen appliance, a retarded Second Life werepyre, an Jewish goblin literally anything you can think of... and they pick "Charles, The Fat Gay Neckbeard". Really speaks for itself.

In games like super mario bros. 2, the female character has a cool/unique ability that gives them as much appeal as a pick as the male ones. In some games like sonic adventure 1 and 2, you are required to both play as the male and female characters in order to complete the game. Sometimes people just like the characters themselves in cases when you don't have a unique thing or a requirement. People used to and still deflect with the "ah yeah i don't wanna stare at man ass for hours!" thing which is funny as a joke but when people frame it as serious you start asking questions. Not troon type questions like social media trannies try doing to "crack eggs" but rather more "WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU STARING AT A CHARACTERS ASS? IT'S LIKE THE SMALLEST PART OF THE SCREEN." This makes them not only look more gay, but also outs them as viewing cooming to asses as a priority over the enjoyment of the rest of the game. And then that gets really weirdly suspicious cause the deflection version is used for games like fucking pokemon of all things.

EDIT: For context of those who somehow missed out on the last 20 something years of GAMING, pokemon looks like this usually.

Sorry the image is so grossly compressed and blown up, it was one of the first image search results and I was too tired to get more.

In certain games, female characters have a smaller hitbox… and no downsides, lest the developers face backlash. Players wanting to win are mechanically incentivized to take the female characters.
In a lot of cases this is coomer cope. People have debunked the shit out of this countless times for games like fortnite where it's the most prevalent and the fucking female superhero skin and that ruby character have become the bane of people's existence. There are SOME games where they have a smaller hitbox but actual other factors that add a downside like slower speed or slightly less HP.

It's funny though to me when people have like a unique profile pic character people associate them with they then base their in game thing on vaguely. This is entirely tied to friendgroup activities though. Like if someone's got some profile pic that's just some dude in a tracksuit or something and the character they make is some variant of that so friends know it's them type of stuff. Usually this is coupled with making the character extremely old though cause it looks funny.
The thing you described though is 100% fucking retarded though, I agree firmly.

I am female and usually choose the female character first. If I want to play again I will usually choose a male character.

i dunno if playing a female character as a man makes you a tranny, but i am 100% sure that if you let internet debates about what makes people trannies decide for you which character youre going to play in a videogame then you are most likely below 80 iq and clinically retarded
