A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.


But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

I don't understand. He hasn't written anything even approaching racist. Race isn't even mentioned in the tweet.
All he has stated is that his potential government intends to follow the natural rule of law by returning people that are here illegally.

I didn't say the tweet is racist.

If the law were to be changed to ban cousin marriage I'd welcome that too - and that wouldn't be racist either.

If you're going to question my language you could at least put in the effort to acknowledge the language I have used rather language you have imagined I have used.

Yes that's exactly right.

Also I find your insistance that it's merely an application the rule of law naive - the rule of law is already being applied, and it usually allows people who arrive in the UK illegally to remain in the UK legally. The law needs to be changed to allow millions of people to be deported, because the current legal framework does not.

Gay men should not be allowed to adopt or buy children, ever. It's incredibly obvious that it's an extremely bad idea, but nothing will change, because progressives genuinely believe that nothing is worse than discriminating against or excluding minorities. They would truly, honestly rather see 10,000 infants raped to death than have a single gay man be told "No, sorry, you can't have a baby."

I think I can safely assume you've never had an elderly relative "cared" for in a hospital or residential home by lazy, resentful African women who have taken anti-white propaganda to heart.

Who do you think are the biggest perpetrators of female genital mutilation? Who sets up the soirees to find their teenage daughters a "suitable husband"? Who force those same girls into covering themselves from 12?
It's women. It's Muslim women who are the morality police in Iran and pull other womens hair if they don't cover up. It's Muslim women who force feed their preteen daughters to fatten them up like cattle in Mauritius. If we only accepted women. The same women in the UK calling us mean for hating the foreigns, would form SS squads overnight.

Also unless sterilised, women have children. Those children do not stay children forever.

I had a discussion about this in the pop history youtuber thread regarding integration and it's impossibility without some form of ethnogenesis ((think Anglos + Saxons = Anglo-Saxon + Normans = Norse + French) = English) so even if the women came here by themselves, they are still bringing their culture/race with them that'll have their offspring be regarded as or think of themselves as "other". Without some explicit policy enforcing naturalisation and otherwise eradicating all traces of the "old culture," even ethnicities which become indistinguishable from the majority population visually will still retain their own cultural identity regardless of superficiality (See: Irish-Americans). There are still people claiming to be Cornish knocking about.

The issue with immigrants full stop is they vote like immigrants. They'll vote for their own interests and sequester themselves if possible. Depending on the local man they get with, their heritage and cultural identity may take precedence over the local, dominant culture so the child will see itself as half and half and it may even grow up and get with another half and half and before you know it you've now got a home grown minority culture demanding its own special treatment when there wasn't one prior. They might call themselves "British" but under that abstraction they might call themselves [nation/culture/race]-British/English/Scottish/Irish etc and you've created a problem for yourself.

And if you're of the mind women immigrants are less of a threat than the men there's a certain revolutionary you should know about.

Immigrants have greater odds of being disloyal to their host nations and even if you accepted women only, within a gen or two the descendants of said immigrants will still be voting to bring in more immigrants. Irish-Americans still lean Democrat in the USA, for instance.

The only acceptable context for immigration is love and the person immigrating has a moral duty IMO to not bring their old culture/nationality with them to the place they are immigrating to so potential offspring are tricked into thinking they are completely indigenous. If you're not of a local race/ethnicity so your offspring won't be tricked, the best you can do is go full civnat in practice alongside eradicating traces of old culture—language, religion, name, etc. Though if you're not alone, as in there are other examples of your culture about, the chances of your culture persisting are pretty much guaranteed and your offspring are statistically likely to become as insufferable as any other minority group which asserts itself

Our neighbour recently died. She was in her late 90s and mentally sharp as a tack (a few months back she did a talk at her luncheon club on how to avoid getting scammed online,she was amazing).

Then she started getting wobbly on her feet and her family punted off looking after her to a series of "carers", all of them Nbugus. She went down hill rapidly after this, two weeks Sunday just gone went into a care home and died the following Saturday.

I have no doubt the "care" she received finished her off. Us and the neighbours over road, were stopping in and checking on her, the neighbours over road would take her home cooked meals (They're polish and they love to eat, lady next door put on weight with their food and looked so much better in herself. Brighter eyed and more energetic).

When her family found out they told us to stop it and let the "carers" do their job.

It is a fucking disgrace we palm the care of our elderly off on these vermin. And in getting rid, wages will rise and conditions for the sector will improve, as with every other sector (logistics and supply chain, I'm looking at you), meaning it'll be more attractive to people with bothersome first world expectations like proper breaks and rest periods.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: there is not one societal ill which would not at least be alleviated by getting rid of the foreign hordes.
