A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

That puffter is trying to rip off my profile picture.
I would be unsurprised to see black ooze start seeping across his forehead.
I'm not sure if the right one is more 'something from star wars' or 'some extinct species of human'. I know what it is. It's giving fucking sangie vibes.
Of course there's a Kiwi Farms cow that looks like it.

On the right, looks like a moomin on ozempic.
One of those couples where If you averaged the faces out you’d maybe get a normal human.
Actually felt like the sun was out today. Fed the birds, wondered if I’m creating entire generations of avian welfare recipients. Decided I dont care and added a couple more tallow balls to the feeder.
Might start off some cold veg in the greenhouse this weekend if my seeds arrive

>Ahhhhh you're brownnnnn that's why you hate the Global American Empire that rapes Whites to death demographically and literally sends propaganda to European countries to miscegenate!
Are you going to call them our GREATEST ally next?
If you don't understand that fundamentally they are not our allies, we are their vassal state and anything that promotes THEIR Empire is not in our interests then what can even be debated?
He didn't call you brown. Bit of a slip there old chap.

What in God's name is this disgusting chimera of a flag?

These flags started showing up in the UK in January. They are supposed to represent the true love of Iranians for Israel, Israel's love for the Iranian people and the love of the people of the UK for Iranians and Israelis. It features the pre-1979 Iranian flag as part of the design.

I personally somewhat suspect the original people flying these flags were involved in reactionary/monarchist exile groups that receive covert funding from a particular country and that various people involved in directing these groups are so utterly stupid as to have their own puppet Iranian groups discredit themselves by showing their submission to Israel when they should instead be showing exclusively Iranian flags and symbols. A non-iranian pro-Israel group (stopthehate) in the UK has been selling these flags as well.

In a conspiratorial sense, it would also make sense for the Iranian intelligence services themselves using their influence to encourage these exile groups to discredit themselves through these flags. But I don't think the Iranians are that capable or that smart at the moment. Too many other problems at home.

PL: Couple nights ago the street lights were flickering on and off, and now we've had a power cut (brief) + some mates of mine also lost power. National grid troubles? If Miliband goes in this rumoured reshuffle I will assume we are screwed

Bahrain and UAE are also not happy with Kier and are saying he failed them.

Lesbian Rumplestiltskin and the profoundly plain Angloid peasent. She should be shoeing horses not killing babies.

Evacuation flights from Oman fail to take off. Don't know if this is strictly the government's fault but its still a major L.
A passenger said it was a "total shitshow" with people banging on windows and having panic attacks as repeated delays forced the pilot to rest
"[The] check-in process took about four hours due to technical issues. We then got taken to the plane on a bus but had to stay on it for about one-and-a-half hours. No consular staff were present airside. They just left us. People started getting very agitated, banging windows, panic attacks. There are dozens and dozens of vulnerable people, young children and families. We had no way of contacting consular staff to find out what was wrong."Eventually we were taken back to the terminal with no guidance or consular staff present for about an hour. We were told due to slow check-in and delays the pilot had clocked his hours so needed to rest. They then disembarked us, and we were taken to a hotel. We have been told the plane will take off later today once the pilot has rested. The stress this has caused these vulnerable people is incredibly serious"
The Foreign Office told Politics UK: “The UK government charter flight was not able to depart from Oman yesterday as planned due to technical issues. The flight is now expected to depart later today.”
Panic attacks is a bit much. Idk, yes it's a scary situation but banging on windows and crying helps no one. Keep Calm and Carry On anyone?

The legal statutory duty to support asylum seekers will be revoked tomorrow. It means payments and accommodation will no longer be automatic - only those who can show genuine need will receive support [No doubt this will be decided by the pozzed ''charities'']
The statutory duty will be removed in Parliament tomorrow and will come into force in June. Mahmood will say in a speech at the centre-left think tank IPPR that her immigration reforms represent “Labour values". She will say
"If we cannot deal with so visible a failure, what can the state achieve at all? It is our creed, as the Labour Party, that the state can and must be a force for good. Without the trust of citizens in the state, therefore, there is no space for Labour values - in any part of Government - to be realised. Restoring order and control at our border is not a betrayal of Labour values, it is an embodiment of them, and it is the necessary condition for a Labour Government to achieve anything it hopes to
RE Reform, she will say:
"When people see small boat arrivals, at their current scale or they feel the pace and scale of migration today, they feel like we have lost control. A loss of control breeds fear and when fearful, people turn inwards. Their vision of this country narrows. Their patriotism turns into something smaller, something darker, an ethno-nationalism emerges. The idea of a greater Britain gives way to the lure of a littler England. And other voices - voices to the far right - take hold"
Sort of true but she's still a retard. Ethno-nationalism (or rather in-group out-group attitudes) take hold when there is a [perceived or real] lack of resources, it's not just boat people, its the fact they are getting houses and doctors appointments and training and free sports classes and entertainment and and and... Until we deal with charities and NGOs and groups organising and abetting migration (including criminal human trafficking gangs) there will be no change.

It's a qualified win. The reality is that Labour are having to clamp down on immigration, not just to avoid being outflanked by the right, but to try and tamp down the violent reprisals that have already begun. They're trying to slow-walk it and avoid anything that can't be turned back around once people stop paying attention, but they're having to acknowledge reality nonetheless. The thing that gives me hope is that once the first stones are rolling, it's virtually impossible to stop the subsequent landslide. Mass remigration is inevitable now.

This will be u-turned in a week. Same way Starmer saying the stuff he did at the start was. Labour supporters will shit the bed over saying any sort of nationalism is acceptable
