A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

OK, so the new 28 Days Later movie is pretty fucking good. The Jimmy Savill character is a nasty cunt, but well played and charasmatic. It's very British of course, and works super well.

I know 28 Years Later was diverse on people liking it or hating it. But from what I hear of the new one, it seems to be better.

I also wonder if they ever gonna do a 28 Months Later with the whole world falling apart and the last strongholds of it start to disappear as the virus has spread when it landed in France from 28 Weeks later.

I also want to say that 28 Weeks Later had a brilliant start and got really fucking stupid when the run away husband somehow has access privileges to an infected person who isn't guarded by anyone, just walked up to the infected wife and without any sense what so ever, had mouth to mouth contact with her.

Omg yes. It started brilliantly and went way off. I did like where Tammy and her brother are on that moped and it shows them driving through London through. That was cool.

We're going to see it in a couple weeks but are gonna watch the first three tonight. Nothing better than getting cozy with the fire and watching world fall to shit.

Jesus Christ can you lot all put a lid on your thirst-posting/pointy elbows posting?

I'll say this for Truss - at least she was the first Prime Minister we've had for a while who didn't try to sell out the country (which is why the entire Establishment machinery was marshalled against her).
I credit Kwarteng as much as Truss. The problem they both had is they tried to do too much at once and were punished by the media-political establishment. The exact same index that was used to throw out Truss has gone arse over tit multiple times during Starmer and Reeves term, but suddenly it doesn't matter.
If you gave me power I would either die at my desk, or under it as the nukes rain down. Either way, no more foreigns.
The true key to power is being ever so slightly merry at all hours of the day. Ask your local Order of the Knights Tippler for more information.
Absolute shot in the dark, but Farage said a key Labour player would be joining Reform. I don't think it's Wes, but the rumours sure do make you wonder... or is that what they want us to think?
I reckon it'll be one of the may, many ladies Starmer has fired and been forced to tolerate coming back. Could you imagine Lucy Powell defecting? Yes I know, it's unlikely, but just imagine.
What do you fear Salsa?
Has he not made it obvious? The box has midgets in it.

Is this another cycle where everyone says the films great, then other people go and see it and notice it's 50% Samoan cock swinging in HD 4k 3D?
I thought 28 Years was shit. Much of it was like a fucking student art house project and the OG creators on screen beating themself off raw to their own genius.
The Boner Temple was actually really fucking good. Yes Samson and his dong of justice are in it, but...well just about everything in the movie is on point and there wasn't a single part in which I was thinking 'wtf is this shit?!' (i.e. the cartoon archers, night cam footage, and slow mo bullet time shit).

Where's a good place to get real, good quality cheese? The cheese at the supermarkets all looks like goyslop. Sucks there isn't a cheese shop near me.

Biggest supermarket you can find and see if they have a cheese counter? They’re usually not too bad. Maybe there IS a cheese shop near you? Or farmers market?
The only cheese shops I know are Edinburgh, York and Cardiff . You anywhere near any of them ?

Nah, I'll probably visit some bigger supermarkets and see if there's a cheese counter. I should also check out the farmers market in town. The only way you can find good food is if you find it yourself. Brie is the only cheese I really eat, so I should try other cheeses.

Warwick Davis being taught to use a bong. I'm starting to think Chunky is onto something. His arms are too long for his body and it's creepy.

I went to The Sun's website and got met with this amazing text.

Good was not breathing, had an inconsistent pulse and blood was gushing out of her left ear.

Do you know what happens to your pulse when you get shot 4 times and then crash your car into a pole? It's not very consistent.

There's nothing interesting in the news. The trains are fucked. Blacks in America neglect their child. A slag put on a bikini and posted on instagram and reality TV has a sob sob story. The only thing worth adding to the thread it this darts bloke. He either won or came second in a big event.

All Jolly Rancher products have been deemed unsafe to eat after they were found to contain Mineral Oil Aromatic Hydrocarbons (MOAH).
Avoid Jolly Ranchers for a bit then.

The sun is claiming Reform are totally fit for leadership after this week. They're best friends with Trump and have a glowing future now they have more pakis and cucks from the Conservatives. Which is a funny way for the establishment to say "killed the party with their own stupidity".

Look up any farmers markets or artisan/craft markets in your area, especially on the council website or on social media (instagram search (city) market). The Midlands has these guys called Queso! who do excellent British and European cheeses at the craft markets and high street farmers markets. Family run as well.
Sometimes butchers will have milk and cheese, or Polack places if they have a deli.

Unrelated but 4 injured in clashes with Met Police last night outside the Iranian Embassy. Given the Islamic state of the police and the Iranians trying to remove their Islamic State things could get incredibly messy.

Achondroplasiaphobia and my entire life lmao. I have a general very, very strong disgust response towards the visibly disabled and deformed. It's not great, I get it real bad with midges and people with missing limbs. I used to - when I was teaching science to nerdy children - work with a woman that was like 4 foot tall tops, and she'd jump scare me all the time. She also had a legally mandated stool as a disability aid which used to make me laugh.

I would not suggest watching the episode of Phoenix Nights, where Max and Paddy get attacked by a bunch of Derby County* supporting m**gets.

Edited to correct the team.

Tony B Liar, the biggest war criminal this side of the 1940's has been placed on the Gaza Peace Board, as the only non-american.

Blair is a Fabian and their view is broadly for a two state solution, which will piss both countries off. Should be fun to watch.
If there's one guy who knows the value of browns it's the former head of Labour, amirite
