A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Also, I was wondering how the Brummie police were going to get away with the Israeli football fans situation as admitting to lying would result in them being sacked and their pensions removed.

They've used the fucking AI excuse lmao, yeah sure pal you can claim that AI gave you misleading statistics that you used to enforce your policies. I'm sure you documented the AI searches right, I'm sure you'll be able to produce internet logs of those searches, right? Nah, they've just lied AGAIN to try and unfuck themselves from the lie that got them into this mess.

Birmingham hasn't just fallen, it is being policed under Sharia law lmao

People went on a vegan phase because they thought vegan = healthier, not aware that it's usually the most disgusting calorie filled slop as a significant amount of carbs are vegan. Pretty sure vegan cheese even has hideously low levels of protein in it compared to regular cheese as while you CAN have things that are vegan and filled with protein, it's hard to then shape it into something like cheese.

Those diet jabs have basically killed it off for good.

But there are plenty of things I do that make people speak to each other, open people’s eyes IRL etc. Some of those people might just have a hand on minor lever of power for something locally. Don’t underestimate what one person standing up and saying ‘ no this isn’t right’ can do - the majority of people know its not right they’re just too cowardly to say so openly, but once a person does, they’ll nod along, and you’ve won hearts and minds
I hear your roast beef sandwich is legendary for opening people's eyes..

Are we talking about the same thing here? I don't consider talking to my neighbours to be anything revolutionary or anti establishment. I talk to them because I don't live in a suburban hellscape. I know their opinions and they know mine because we're all part of the community.

Vegan cheese is coconut oil and yeast for flavouring. It's very fattening and not good for you.

Quorn stuff has won the vegetarian meat replacement battle. It's going to stick around while the rest of the fad dies. It's cheap enough, edible enough and can be used to replace the real stuff in similar recipes. Greggs sausage rolls are quorn and they're pretty popular and easy for veggies to pick up on the go, when a lot of their food isn't. They fill a niche when you have some veggie wanker you need to get a snack for occasionally.

I somewhat disagree; this is Starmer prepping to scrap it without admitting "defeat." I admit it's a small victory though, because the white women in Ofcom have stupid powers.
It won't be scrapped. They've been pushing for digital ID for decades and they want it. They succeeded with the ofcom/OSA after Cameron failed twice.
It's coming.
So, Southern Water have done goofed, hard, and thousands of people in Kent and Sussex have been without water for days.
Fuck 'em.
It wouldn't work any way. They would share a digital id the same way they share drivers licenses and everything else. Uber drivers and food delivery wogs already do it. This doesn't stop any of the under the table work which they all do.
You're right and it would have still been introduced.
If people haven't cottoned on yet, then let us help them.
The Government hates whites, especially white males and the process is the punishment. They make our lives harder step by step while not putting any controls on non-whites and woman.***

Obviously we don't want to give away too much personal stuff here, but I've seen that in action and it really doesn't influence much.
The only way to influence politics is violence. Violence built the white society we have, civil wars, civil unrest, regicide, all violence until we were given what we needed and we could transition to a high trust society where those in power listened to the people.

The reason the muslims and wild wogs are given so much power is because they use violence, be that in threats or in action. Those in power know fat dave will shout his mouth off until the plod threaten him where he will back down.
Rampant raghead ranjeet will scream alluha ackbar and those in power fear stabbings and bombings against them.
X/Twitter has now banned Grok from generating sexualised images of women and children after the UK made it illegal to create “non-consensual intimate” images.

The End of the Vegan Boom

To bring this thread full circle. How long until Greggs drops it's vegan sausage roll (introduced in 2019 at the creation of the thread)?
I'm not a puff or lefty so veganism and vegetariasm is strange and confusing to me. What fucks me off though is how hard it is to find a vegatarian meal, because they're all chemical vegan slop.
Likewise, how many normal products have been replaced to keep the vegan slop enthusiasts happy. Beeswax removed from haribo and replace with shit and no more cows tongue in chewing gum, for example.

Veganism, like halal, should be banned and not even entertained.

*** @Kofi Drinka notice how the law makes sexualised images of women and children illegal, but no mention of men?
Nothing new. It's always to protect the women and children. Same ol' shit. I'm going to be so pissed when someone uses Grok to replace my little lunchbox with an elephant trunk.
I can remember some Beer youtuber reviewing the Vegan KFC burger, He was then attacked by a pepsi cup on camera, but he raved about "2019 being the year of the vegan, We've seen Greggs go Vegan, We've seen KFC now go vegan". These wankers make it their whole identity.
The veggie stuff is a yearly cycle. Every January is new vegan/veggie fad because it's low calories in the eyes of the women trying to get skinny. It'll flop and 90% of it will disappear back down to Quorn and Beyond. Summer comes and you will see another wave of veggie summer stuff, it will flop and go back to Quorn and Beyond.

Quorn is cheap and absorbs sauces well. Beyond is oily, greasy and expensive so it makes ideal once in a while treats or for places to offer a meat alternative. That's the UK's vegetarian meat industry in a nut shell.
do vegans always have to spit if they're giving a blowie?
Yes. Dick cheese is still made by an animal.

Plod winning some a gender discrimination case in Suffolk

A police force accepted it had discriminated against two male officers due to their gender.
The Suffolk Police officers were displaced from a "proactive policing team" and given new roles before being replaced by two female officers.
According to the Suffolk Police Federation, the force made the decision based on "operational reasons linked to gender balance".
The force said it recognised "this was not the right way to go about it, and we will carefully reflect on that", after an employment tribunal ruled the officers had been discriminated against.
At the time, the policing team had been made up entirely of male officers, after a female officer had left by choice to pursue an alternative role.
Instead of recruiting and filling the vacancy, the force removed the two male officers from the team and swapped them for two female ones.
The hearing was told the decision-maker was aware the action was discriminatory and had been advised of this by Human Resources, yet still chose to proceed.
An employment tribunal said the officers had been subjected to "unlawful direct discrimination on the basis of gender".

'Never repeated'

"This case should never have reached this stage," added Emma Arthurs, Suffolk Police Federation representative and equality lead.
"This decision sends a clear message to our members - we are here to represent you, to stand up for you when something is wrong.
"Discrimination, of any kind, has no place in policing."
The case also highlighted a lack of record-keeping and governance around the decisions made by the force, the Suffolk Police Federation said.
"This case demonstrates why transparency, accountability, and proper processes matter," she added.
"We welcome discussions with the force going forward to ensure that lessons are learned and that similar situations can be avoided.
"We always want to work constructively with Suffolk Police to help it be as efficient, fair, and effective as possible.
Suffolk Police said it accepted the tribunal's judgement and would ensure that "this isolated incident is never repeated".
"We are committed to maintaining a fair and supportive working environment for all colleagues with professionalism and accountability at the heart of everything we do."

Free Palestine activists stopped a Jewish MP doing a school visit in September, getting more focus as Labour try to talk tough.
A visit by a Jewish MP to a school in their constituency was cancelled, after concerns were raised by local pro-Palestinian campaigners.
Palestine Solidarity Bristol said it had opposed the visit by Damien Egan, the Labour MP for Bristol North East, due to his support for Israel.
The cancellation took place in September but was highlighted by Communities Secretary Steve Reed during a speech to the Jewish Labour Movement at the weekend.
Reed did not name Egan but told the audience: "I have a colleague who is Jewish, who has been banned from visiting a school and refused permission to visit a school in his own constituency, in case his presence inflames the teachers.
"That is an absolute outrage... and they will be called in, and they will be held to account for doing that, because you cannot have people with those kinds of attitudes teaching our children.
"You just can't have it."
Egan confirmed the event had been cancelled but declined to comment further.
In a statement to the Times, the school said it postponed Egan's appearance because of a planned protest near the school grounds, and said it had a concern it would clash with the end of the school day.
The school rearranged a date for the MP's visit and contacted police for advice.
The BBC has reached out to the school for comment.
On 5 September, when the event had been due to go ahead, the Palestine Solidarity Bristol group published a social media post celebrating the cancellation.
It said the event had been axed after "concerns were raised by the National Education Union trade union staff group, parents and local constituents".
It said the cancellation was "a clear message" that politicians who support Israel's actions in Gaza "are not welcome in our schools".
The National Education Union has been contacted for a comment.
BBC's been too restrained there, I wonder if there was a rag that might be clearer about the people involved in the cancellation?
Ah I see, there weren't concerns it would clash with the end of the school day, the protestors specifically planned to time it then. So the NEU and Palestine Solidarity worked together to ensure that on the day an MP was visiting there would be violent protestors near the children.

A spokesperson for Bristol Brunel Academy said: 'Damien Egan MP... in common with other local MPs from across the political spectrum – was invited in September to visit Bristol Brunel Academy, a secondary school situated in his constituency of Bristol North East.
'Mr Egan was due to discuss democracy and the role of an MP, while helping to raise aspirations among students who may have an interest in pursuing similar career paths.
'On the evening before Mr Egan's scheduled visit, we were made aware of plans for a public protest outside the school.
'As this protest was scheduled to coincide with the end in the school day, we opted to postpone Mr Egan's visit to ensure everyone would continue to feel safe when entering and exiting school and to prevent any disruption to our students' learning.
'We have remained in contact with Mr Egan, and an alternative date for his visit was arranged some time ago.
'We have also been in contact with the police and followed their advice.'

I agree with that, but the whole replacing meat with quorn shite is retarded. They want all the aspects of meat without eating meat because they're lefty wankers.

So let me get this straight, parts of the UK are now without water and there's about four new policies coming in to police the internet?

We really ARE Iran lmao
There are still a couple of differences. We managed to fail to deliver water in a country with five times the rainfall than Iran has. Also, we have more Islamic fundamentalists than they do.

I think attacking Labour MPs and burning down migrant hotels is the solution. Tell me fellow Kiwis, if you were to carry out attacks like these, how and where would you do it? Do any of us have plans in the works already?

Also does anyone know MIW's doxx so I can go and check on him?

Be sure to DM me or call 0800 111 4645 if you have any ideas.

I mean. Not saying attacking anyone is okay but I once got revenge on someone who had pissed me off by sending them a package stuffed with 3lb of pink glitter. I wrapped it on such a way it went everywhere when they opened it.

Apparently they were finding it all over their home for a year afterwards.
