A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

lol. He speaks the truth and you act like a baby.

Reddit tier faggotry right here.
Ah, so you can't or won't answer the question, good to know.

@Chunky Salsa Same here, you're actually alright (unlike some on here) but no matter what I say nobody's listening so I'm done with the Newsthread and the people herein.

It's actually others who can't take criticism or being told 'no, I disagree' and think that I'm optimistic when they are actually quite happy deep down for things to continue as they are.

I'll still post elsewhere here but IRL myself and Reform UK can't win the revolution sat at desks waiting for things to happen.

In the end, the people here got what they wanted so pats on the back all round.

While Welshy gets over his Farage BPD hang over here's some typically Scottish news.

From August 1st 2026 social landlords will not be able to end the tenancy of abusive MEN (protecting women and children obviously) without the victim having to step forward. So in a law that will never be abused by cheating wives or dodgy landlords hoping to blackmail a female tenant. You can now lose your home because you made fun of your wife or told her you don't want her to go for a drink with her ex boyfriend.

Scottish Women’s Aid CEO Dr Marsha Scott added: “Housing is one of the main challenges women face when ending a relationship with an abusive partner and keeping a roof over the heads of their family and avoiding homelessness are critical pressures. Not all can stay in their own homes safely, which is why refuge provision is so important, but for the many who could, this regulatory change will bring much-needed reform.

“This change should enable women and their children to stay in their home, their schools and the area where they often have a support network and moves the consequences of abuse where they belong - the abuser.”

When do we start counting the number of women who end up dead because of this? Why do they think it's a good idea to take an abused woman and keep her where the abuser, who will now be very angry and wanting revenge knows? No way any one violent against their wife would come back to his old address and teach her a lesson for making him homeless.

Fucking Scotland.

@Made In Wales Leaving the thread and blocking everyone is going to save the white race because he's tough and can take the heat. Except when being disagreed with on an internet forum.

You can flounce out all you like, it's not going to make Zahawi any less the exact sort of person I want forced onto a plane and deported, day one.

A corrupt, thieving foreigner whose only loyalty is to his own ethnic group.

Because refuge is so hilariously underfunded that they can't find even 1% of emergency housing for women. They don't want to fund it, so they'll just do this instead.

Maybe I'd be more supportive if they didn't just focus on foreign women and children in all their marketing and leaflets.. I'd rather donate to the local cat shelter and I don't even like Chinese food.

) but no matter what I say nobody's listening
People are listening. The issue is that you have confidence in Reform - for whatever reason that is, it doesn't matter since it's something you believe in - whereas most other people simply don't. I don't know Farage as a person, I can only go off of what I've seen him say and do, and I can only go off of what I have seen Reform say and do. What they have said and done, does nothing but make me think that they are a liberal party of Sargon style - early youtube Sargon at that - economists. Coin counters, with some populist rhetoric thrown in to wet the beaks of the people terrified about the future of the country.

I would very much like to believe that Reform is worth a damn, I really would; and I'd like to see some evidence that they can be. Because the alternative is that everyone needs to get into really good shape, read some books on urban conflict, and get ready for hard times. That is something I believe in. I don't think the country is going to simply chug on for much longer; I don't think we're going to get a civil war, but I can feel this slowly rising well of tension in me, and see it on other peoples faces that says something is very wrong. Something has to be done, and if politicians cannot do it, then people will have to.

People are listening.
He is the one not listening. I'm convinced he's quite young and he's on his first real political rodeo. He's like a lot of the Trump fans in 2016 and he's not ready to admit Farage (like Trump) is not a racialist and isn't anti-establishment in the way the media portrays him.

Hopefully in a few hours he will have calmed down and come back to his senses. He's a good poster but he's too invested in Reform in a way that isn't healthy.

he's too invested in Reform in a way that isn't healthy.
From what I understand Made in Wales is a full on fee paying party member which means he's put a lot of hope into the party and thus feels betrayed.

Personally Nadhim Zahawi defecting has been a watershed for me. He's a former Tory chancellor and he called Farage a racist. Theres no way in hell Reform is going to be as based as we dream if they let him into the party.

Time to start my full on doomerism spiral like @Chunky Salsa I suppose.

Any open source AI software I can download that burns the shit out of by GPU before OFCOM queers out and blocks access to it? Just for upscaling shit and making revenge porn of Farage fucking everyone's hopes without lube whilst reading the Koran?

https://www.comfy.org/

ComfyUI is shockingly user friendly, and can get you going at an entry level with basically no technical knowledge, but can also scale with knowledge and skill - you just need a solid gpu, at least a 30 series, and 8 gigs of vram at absolute minimum to be usable, and plenty of hard drive space - even basic workflows need three different 10 - 20 gig downloads.

https://civarchive.com/ is where you go if you want more than stock models, especially as CivitAI is blocked in the UK. Be warned than 90% of the stuff there is for making porn.

but you sound like you're 65. I do not understand why you think Farage or his party is worth actively supporting rather than grudgingly voting for?
I think he is in his early/mid 20s and hasn't seen a lot of the world, thus lacking pattern recognition.
I'm convinced he's quite young and he's on his first real political rodeo
Exactly this.
It's being strangled to death and it's being done with deliberation and clinical sadism.
It is deliberate and the final stage of grief, which is acceptance, is accepting that the country, and the west in general, is being ruined on purpose. It's not personal, unless you're a white male, in which case you'll be used as cannon fodder.
Like that 4chan post that makes the rounds, white supremacy will be good in the armed forces, so all white people can be gunned down again.

What we're seeing, and what the plan is, is to introduce neo-communism by choice, with purges of those who disagree with the party. However, visually visceral acts like gulags, mass executions and exiles would be unpopular by most, so it all has to be done subtly.
Soy boys, lefty liberals and mong-IQ foreigners who want an easy life, hand outs and no meany words will swallow the jizz of the government all day long.
Strong individuals will be weeded out and annihilated.

To have a glimpse of what is coming, have a look how docile sheep and cattle were domesticised for the good of farming, and what happened to those sheep and cattle who wouldn't follow the orders.

I know people thought I was being a bit harsh to MiW the other month when I called him and his farage-loving out, but it's good to see people are cottoning on. Do not let that cunt anywhere near power because he will be worse than Starmer while hiding behind the flag of 'nationalism'.
Farage is another mask to let a muslim ruler in through the back door.

He can have his bullshit opinion, and I can call him a twat for having it. That's the way of the world.
It's quite funny watching him try and justify having a tax doging, theiving brown join the party that will save Britain :D
The only person being a twat is you, for actually being a twat and also being wholly ignorant of the political situation. No party in Britain who runs on a platform of "no browns" will ever win in this climate and throwing your toys out the pram won't change that.

I don't reform and I don't like farage but i'm a realist who recognises that sometimes you can't get everything you want right away, it will take decades probably longer than the rest of our lives to fix this shit and what doesn't help are spastics like you having a temper tantrum.

It should be clarified that this also isn't just about Reform being infested with browns. This particular brown is so grossly galling because he is one of the arch fuckers that has had his hand on the driving seat to slamming the country into a nosedive. Who's next? Rishi? Boris? Why not them? What actually precludes them joining Reform, if this guy joins up?

There is a very large space between being a 14/88 send-the-niggers-back-now party and being a party that welcomes bottom-feeding spivs like Zahawi. A sensible nationalist party can operate comfortably within this space.

I still cannot figure out exactly what Reform gains by inviting Zahawi in. Does it bolster their reputation or respectability? Not in the slightest. Almost no-one will remember Zahawi and those who do are almost guaranteed to know him as a tax cheat. Either that, or his abuse of the expenses system, or maybe his eagerness to prop up the collapsing Johnson government as Chancellor. I do not think anyone outside of his immediate family thinks positively of him.

Optics? The idea that this new brown person joining the party will be the one that finally stops others calling them racist? Yusuf wasn't enough, nor was Cunningham, but Zahawi will get them over the line into respectability? It's for the birds. There are fundamentally 2 groups of people who call Reform racists; those who believe that any party that won't allow every single nigger in the world into the country is racist, and those who use it precisely to smear, who haven't cottoned on that shouting 'RACIST!' stopped working years ago. Neither of those groups will ever stop. Frankly, they should be ignored, or, if you have to interact with them, belittle them. They aren't changing anyone's opinions any more.

But if optics are the concern, Zahawi does far more to hurt the party. Championing yet another failed Tory whose reputation is dirt makes it much easier to frame the party as a dustbin of failed Tories. This does not mean that the party should not accept any defectors at all - I said at the time he defected that Kruger could be a significant gain for the party because he is more of a thinker and he has something to lose (his seat), and there are others like him in the same mould. But the net has been cast far too widely, and it limits the party in the eyes of voters who are looking for change.

Reform have been a political force for 18 months now. They are the largest party in the country by membership. How is it that no fresh faces without a political history have been unearthed for the national stage? It seems to be an endless conveyer belt of ex-councillors, ex-MPs, ex-advisors and so on who are put in the spotlight. They cannot expect voters to believe that Reform will deliver change if the message is being given exclusively by a cohort of politicos who all played a part, big or small, in getting the country to the state it's in.

It doesn't matter who joins Reform in Nigel's eyes. Nigel has always wanted to be a Tory but also be in charge (because ego) and now he has his chance. If he can't join the actual Tory party then he'll just make his own, with him in charge and just invite over as many Tory's as he can.

If you've kidded yourself into thinking that Reform will fix anything then I have a bridge I can sell you.

From day one, Farage has always struck me as a huckster. It's very apparent that he's almost always 'in-character' and his only guiding star seemingly is his own reputation and pocketbook.

All these white replacement conspiracies are fun, but the most obvious possibility here is that Reform is and has always been a revenue stream for Farage. Leadership positions were always intended to be for-sale.

So what you're saying is that yet again the government has spat in the face of the general public and laughed at them whilst not only refusing to listen to them but actively doing the opposite. It's almost as if they're trying to incite riots. Idk but 2028 is sounding like an interesting year. I'm sure all the anger will be totally forgotten and everything will just go back to normal. Maybe with all the tories fucking off to reform they might get some actual conservatives in there.
