A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Farage REPORTED to the POLICE for ELECTION FRAUD.

Thank goodnes, it's all CLOSING IN on Farage. He'd better apologise, resign and bow down to the political humilation ritual before the establishment try the next step to getting rid of him...

It's like they learnt nothing from Trump and are determined to make Farage Prime Minister.

RE: That currys advert lol.. What the fuck is going on?

I've been looking for that cola advert for longer than I dare admit. I know what I saw and it was during the half-time for a prem game yesterday on sky sports (i was watching a dodgy stream).
But every search for Coca-cola, even on their website and youtube channel only comes up with the AI slop. Could the advert I saw generated so much backlash that they threw out a back-up AI advert to deflect heat?

I'm pissed off that I can't find it.
The games are often stored for a while in the movies section on those fire stick apps.

They have no evidence of any wrongdoing.

As has the UK Government at GCHQ which contains the proceeds of crypto from real criminals - drug lords, sex traffickers... actual criminals.

Do these mongs not realise that Palestine Action accept crypto donations (Monero).

Oh good, if we're going to cut down on Russian Crypto Fraudsters then Extinction Rebellion should be first in line.

Makes you wonder why they want to get rid of Farage now, if the next GE is not until 2029...

However, Nigel has intimated it might be in 2027...

Whilst some people are now saying it could even be next year.

Ah, so that's why they are panicking - well maybe their anger should be aimed at Starmer failing them rather than Farage being one of very few MP's actually doing a decent job.

Looks like the claims have been brought about by a disgruntled former employee called Richard Everett (more like Kenny Everett) who himself was suspended for being 'gropey' and 'handsy' with ladies - therefore, who do you believe?

Nigel Farage has been reported to the police over claims of falsified election expenses, it has emerged.

A former member of his campaign team has accused the Reform UK leader of falsely reporting local campaign expenses incurred in his Clacton constituency as national party spending in what could amount to a breach of electoral law.

Richard Everett, a former Reform councillor and member of Mr Farage's campaign team, has reportedly submitted documents to the Metropolitan Police that he claims show an overspend.

A Reform spokesman denied any wrong-doing, claiming the allegations came from a 'disgruntled former councillor' who was kicked out of the party.

Documents show that Reform came within £400 of the legal election spending limit of £20,660 in the Essex seaside town.

But Mr Everett claims that figure excludes some costs, including the refurbishment of a blue Reform-themed bar in the campaign office.

He also alleges the party failed to declare the loan of an armoured Land Rover that was used by Mr Farage during a campaign rally on Clacton Pier as a donation.

If Mr Everett's claims are found to be accurate, Mr Farage and Peter Harris, his election agent, could be found personally liable in court for a breach of electoral law.

Mr Everett - whose role included the monitoring of election expenses and escorting Mr Farage around during the campaign following his defection from the Conservatives - reportedly said he believes Reform exceeded the spending limit by about £9,000, but he added that Mr Farage was 'blissfully unaware' of the omissions.

National parties have higher spending limits and, while they can buy materials used locally, they must not directly promote a specific candidate using a photograph or the name of a particular area.

It is understood a dossier sent to the Met includes Reform's official spending submission, photographs of various campaign materials purchased by the party and expenses receipts.

'Because of my experience as an agent, I've done many of these returns myself, so I know what is meant to be on them,' Mr Everett told The Daily Telegraph.

'In this particular case, there was a spending limit of £20,660.72. So that's the amount you're allowed to spend on the election. In this return that Peter Harris has produced, he says that we spent £20,299.80.

'I do not think that that is an accurate figure. The reason why I think that is because of a number of items that were either missing on the return or wrong on the return.'

Tory chairman Kevin Hollinrake called for a 'full investigation' into the allegations, adding: 'We all have an obligation to play by the rules to ensure that our elections are free and fair.

'Clearly, there must now be a full investigation by the Electoral Commission and the police to establish the facts and ensure whether or not Farage and the Reform Party have followed the law.'

The Metropolitan Police did not immediately confirm it had received the report.

A Reform spokesman said: 'These inaccurate claims come from a disgruntled former councillor. The party was disgusted by his inappropriate sexual behaviour with women and he was expelled several months ago.' Mr Everett denies the claims.

The spokesman added: 'The party denies breaking electoral law. We look forward to clearing our name.'
Interestingly I can't find any news about Everett being suspended. Just as interesting is that he apparently had responsibilities including monitoring expenses and he confirms Farage is unaware of this. So either he's admitting he did not do his job and inform people about it (seems doubtful) or alleging that he did and it was concealed.

Martin Parr died yesterday. He was an eminent documentary photographer since the 70s best known for recording characteristically British scenes, grime and all where applicable. He was big in the late 90s Cool Britannia era for obvious reasons. His back catalog is capable of inducing severe nostalgia, even if it does get a little twee in places. Some of his work from the 80s and 90s:

That's not to say that we should be getting rid of our VPNs and posting under our real names, the bare minimum of Opsec is enough to stop some underfunded government body from investigating you for drawing a very crude picture of Kier Starmer wearing a hijab.
I'm inclined to agree with this. While it's scary what these surveillance reforms are doing in a literal sense, it's always 55 year old Barry getting arrested for gammonposting on his Facebook where he is following his local pub's page with all his family and friends.

I mean that's the issue here, I don't think the bulk of the UK is going to be spied on which means the powers that be would only be directed at a small group of individuals at any one time. You'd think if the government wanted to be able to spy at that draconian level that everyone on the terror watchlist would be the first and foremost people being monitored.

The police want nice big easy wins that the defendant can't really plead not guilty to, Barry using his real name on his verified twitter account going "I don't like darkies" etc. Not Barry using a VPN to access a website only accessible via a TOR node to post "I think that black footballer is kind of shit" under a pseudonym.

In fact that raises a pretty interesting question, if Kiwifarms can only be accessed outside of the UK (requiring VPNs) then technically no British person can see the content. Law enforcement would be breaking the law to access this website and no content regarding British people could technically be libel if it’s not possible for the person involved to be able to see the content without breaking the law.

In fact it could be interesting to see the argument that a VPN node from Beijing essentially means that the post was made in Beijing so therefore not applicable to UK laws.

I wonder if that's the key reason why the government wants to crack down hard on VPNs, the knowledge that foreign VPNs create a spectacularly messy legal situation.

Is this, dare I say it, ANOTHER BOMBSHELL.
Merely another distract whilst Labour leak more than Wolverhampton Wanderers' defence.

Everett's been asked why he went to the Police first and didn't go to a Solicitor, as this is a legal case.

Perhaps unsurprisingly 'no comment' is the response.

If I was to take action against somebody for fraud, I'd get a Solicitor in place first and instruct them to then contact the Police.

Reform UK are still way ahead in the polls - yes, the Greens are gaining, but they will plateau without combining with the Lib Dems and/or doing a deal with Your Party IF they can ever be a credible alternative on the Left (debatable - they're off to a ropey start, to say the very least).

The media are using every desperate measure to try and stop Reform UK, but the group-think isn't working and, for the first time, the media do not know what to do in order to counter the rebellion - do they take umbrage and refuse to air programmes or cut off all communications until their way is respected (in which case, RIP BBC) or will we see a Charlie Kirk/Donald Trump moment soon whereby an idiot tries to assassinate Nigel? If that happened, forget any talk of 'will Reform UK win' it will be 'Reform UK win a super massive majority'.

This is an inherent weakness of the Left - when you front up to them and back them into a corner, what can they do in order to survive? They know that if they kill people who disagree with them that they will lose the argument, yet if they don't fight back they have lost the argument by default.

Former England striker Robbie Fowler reveals he underwent surgery to remove skin cancer from face
I’ve wondered a few times about footballers and skin cancer. Some of the guys I remember playing in my yoof are managers now, and you can really see the sun damage to the skin in some places - base of the neck, forearms, face etc. as they spend so much time outdoors it has to be a risk. Tommy Burns died of skin cancer way too young. Really hoping Robbie Fowler won’t be another.

To change the subject entirely, I wonder what foreigners think when they’re confronted with the ‘don’t you dare be racist to the immigrants’ types who say ‘refugees welcome here’, while the government demands anyone who shows the slightest bit of pushback go directly to the court room? Because some of the nationalities here are wildly racist themselves, and not just regards local rivalries from back home in never never land. They know we’re not allowed to say no to them. They think it’s hilarious. They have no respect for us as we’re fucking pushovers. They are racist beyond belief, but no-one is allowed to point that out because they’re not white.

The idiocy of copying American ideas of ‘black people can’t be racist, white people need to say sorry’ in a country with a completely different history and racial make up. Meanwhile, the immigrants laugh at us as they WANT HOUSE and demand schools only serve halal food etc.

Bongs,

What's the vibe in Britain these days regarding fed posting? It seems like there's no rules anymore and that they can just lock you up on a whim? Are people scared or are they getting bolder? Are normy asses starting to twitch yet?

So the Youtoob algo was kind enough to bless me with this video.

Man I used to have such a huge crush on her in my pre-teen years... almost to the point where she single-handedly shaped my taste in women's looks.

Sad to see that she's become such an old hag with a chip on her shoulder. And even worse, busting people's (beach) balls about "Muh Palestine".

For fuck's sake. 😩

Same, bro. My love of redheads is partially down to here.

She played the character of your ideal BPD girlfriend for so long she actually became it :(

She's aged like rancid shit, though Scottish women tend to.

She should spend less time foaming at the gash over victims of hamas and a bit more on a basic skincare routine.
