A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

The survival rate of sepsis in premature babies is around 25-30% and so even less for baby Nalla who was trying to fight it alongside two other conditions – all while being hypoglycaemic, malnourished, dehydrated, and cold.

Ms Knight described baby Nalla's care as "wholly inadequate" due to the failures and missed opportunities, most notably where he went four hours with no feed.

She said his lack of care in the days before his death was an "unfortunate coincidence" and added the issue of neglect could not be legally made out by a very narrow margin.

The child's cause of death was given as sepsis, peritonitis, and necrotising enterocolitis. There was no evidence that being fed as prescribed could have saved baby Nalla.
I think a lot of people skimmed these parts of the article here, from what I've gathered and from what a medical friend of mine has said, the baby was basically end of life and too weak to be transported elsewhere to die more comfortably. Necrotising enterocolitis is basically the stomach lining starting to die, which means that feeding would result in the condition getting worse. Coincidentally, the baby may well be too frail to be moved out of the bed to replace the sheets.

This, while still fucked up and showing how understaffed the NHS is changes the story quite dramatically from "Newborn baby waiting to go home to their parents STARVED TO DEATH" to "Dying baby unable to find warm ward to die peacefully"

Loss of juries, elections cancelled, ever increasing surveillance, two tier policing, non-stop influx of brownoids...when is the civil war going to kick off? I've been waiting forever.
Just one more Southport type incident and the riots will start.

All Starmer will have to do is drone on about peace, love, understanding, all you need is love etc. and the flames will burn.

Wow the Britcucks did something good for once.

Recently a group of bodies were uncovered during an excavation, turns out they were from the American Revolutionary war. They fought the US militia at the Battle of Camden Glade where the Brits dealt a hard blow to the US minutemen.

After a little digging, no pun intended, one of the soldiers was identified as a Scottish Highlander from the 71st Foot and the Brits sent out a detachment to give this fallen solider a proper send off.

Sure this was 2 years ago but they even draped his coffin in the flag that shall not be shown. Although I'm not sure covering a Scott in the UK flag is proper? I guess he was a British Solider so yes? I dunno really.

Still, doing this shows some level of national awareness, even if it was OK'd by the Jeet Prime Minister, so I'm rather shocked it went ahead.

Scotland is part of the UK, you retard. Look at the white diagonal bits on the Union flag. That's the St. Andrews Cross.

The only Scots who cry about the Union flag are worse than Pakis and would more than likely fly a Palestine flag before the Lion Rampant or the St. Andrews Cross.

What a waste. He could've been a cool exhibit in one of those (chucky cheese?) animatronic museums where you press a button and the servos no longer work.

My "sausage role"?
Titter ye not…
NHS Wales and NHS Scotland are regularly trotted out as being far superior to NHS England, both funded better and run better by their devolved governments.
lol, as if. NHS Wales in particular is appalling. The burns unit at Morriston is world class, everything else is third world and has been for decades. The heath has had pigeons in the operating theatre and even twenty years ago it was utterly filthy on the wards, I visited someone there and was so shocked I went out and bought bleach wipes to clean around her bed.
