A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

What to do about it though?
We need to bring back multi generational homes and families living in the same area. Women look after the old people the same way they look after the young ones. That's the natural human family dynamics and instead we turn it into a job and an economic drain. We pay people to care for our elderly and young so our wives can go to work to earn money to...pay for elderly care and child minders.
Nah. My only female cousin is pretty attractive, niece is pretty cute too. Doesn't mean I'm going to fuck either of them or that it should be legal to. Though I do still see my cousin as a child even if she's in her 20s now. Idk I'm not a fucking ape who thinks that any romantic or sexual interest absolutely must result in a relationship or sex.
What a creepy fuck. Saying you have romantic or sexual interest in your cousin and niece is pure fucking islamic. "My only female cousin is pretty attractive" "I still see my cousin as a child"
Lads, I tried the vegan sausage roll and quite like it.
They're quite nice aren't they? Quorn stuff isn't terrible as long as you don't expect it to be like the real thing.

that caring for our fellow man is a burden and that being cared for is embarrassing or a failure
I speak from a place of experience. I cannot explain why only that I do. The things that old people need in terms of their care are things that even a healthy adult struggle with, doing that if you are also old is simply not something I want to force on someone. There's a difference between needing help and having medical issues compared to being a walking corpse. Obviously caring for people and that sort of stuff is good but there's a limit to it. I would not want a disabled person working in a carehome, for the same reason I would not want an elderly couple having to look after each other. I guess the line is between needing help doing something or needing it done for you. Something you can do but maybe need help with compared to something that you simply cannot do.

Care homes are where old people are sent to die, it's an inherently perverse business model and IMO it's a social evil much like Victorian workhouses.
At least in Victorian Workhouses people spoke English and there weren't any niggers.

Also re: care homes. A close family member worked in one over Coof.

She had a nervous breakdown and tried to kill herself because elderly people who had tested positive for Coof (not people who were ill with it,just had a positive test) were discharged from Hospitals to care homes, tanked up on Midazolam, had food and fluids withdrawn and were left to die.

They weren't deathly sick and expiring from Le Most Totes Soopah Srs Illness Ever, despite the complete lies we are told.. They were sedated and killed via dehydration.

Care homes have always been about death but they ramped it up on this.

Personally I hope to be like my other halfs old neighbor. Active in her late 90s, and teaching her pals at the Bridge Club and the WI about online shopping, Internet banking and how to be aware of scams. If I can't I'll kill myself.

The thing to also remember is that genetic defects from inbreeding don't usually show up in the first spawn from the cousin marriage.

Yes, there may be a few issues, but the "HEYYYY YOU GUYYYYS!" type of mutations or disabilities will occur more frequently the farther down through the generations the cousin-fucking gets.

Go back through the average Pakistani or Ashkenazi family tree, and I gurantee it's cousin-marriages all the way down.

While I do agree, I just don't see how that is feasible today. From eye watering mortgages, various taxes which only increase, bills, student loan if applicable, a relatively young couple is never going to be able to have the room in their tiny house or the ability for one of them to reduce their hours. I think that's probably the main contributor, the fact so many people can't afford to save money anymore means there is no cushion available to drop it all and be a carer.

Again, in my mum's words, she would rather kill herself than sell her house to pay for a miserable existence in a care home. I truly hate this is the situation a lot of people probably find themselves in.

The best parts of that are when they have to collect a debt from some bossman kebab shop and more Muslims just appear like woodlice.
Fridays are my slowest night and I'll have time to burn. There's loads of episodes on You Tube and while listening last night I heard loads of non-native accents.

For Science I shall watch a good few properly Friday, if I can and make a note of what percentage of these spastics are not born here.

The burden these parasites goes far beyond the obvious of taking up jobs and benefits and using healthcare.

Why not just live with your parents and care for them and inherit the house when they pass on.
This might just be by eastern europoor brain but living with family beats paying rent or a mortgage.

Must be more of an eastern euro thing, while I do love my mum, if I had to spend my life with her she wouldn't need to worry about care homes because I'd bury her in the back yard for driving me insane. At some point you need your own space and freedom, to fuck your wife without worrying about mum overhearing, to make my own decisions without parental input. Not that you would have to worry about a family because no girl is interested in a man over the age of 20 living with parents.

In the UK it is, and always has been, legal to marry your first cousin. This has been the case since at least Tudor times, when the table of prohibited degrees of kinship was formalised, and cousins were never included. The last significant change in this area was made by the Marriage (Prohibited Degrees of Relationship) Act 1986, which relaxed restrictions on marrying in-laws (e.g. a deceased spouse’s sibling or a step-relative), provided certain conditions were met. There’s sometimes confusion because cousin marriage is restricted or banned in some other countries, but under British law it remains entirely lawful.

❌ Not Allowed
  • Parent ↔ child (includes adoptive)
  • Grandparent ↔ grandchild
  • Siblings (full, half, or by adoption)
  • Aunt/uncle ↔ niece/nephew (full, half, or by adoption)
✅ Allowed (always legal)
  • First cousins (including “double cousins”)
  • More distant relatives (second cousin, etc.)
  • Step-siblings (no blood relation)
⚠️ Allowed only under conditions
(per the Marriage (Prohibited Degrees of Relationship) Act 1986)
  • Parent-in-law ↔ child-in-law (e.g. widower marrying his late wife’s mother)
  • Step-parent ↔ step-child
  • Grandparent-in-law ↔ grandchild-in-law)

I know of plenty of married couples that live with a parent. Because our economy isn't shit you're more likely to get the parent moving in with the couple rather than the couple living with the old person.
It does depend it's usually older couples after the kids are older that usually do it.

No more 'golden ticket' for refugees. “The UK will continue to play its role in welcoming genuine refugees fleeing persecution,” says Keir, who just gave Palestinians statehood and we'll probably have floods of them soon because every other Arab country doesn't want them.
Refugees can no longer automatically bring families over, and will have to prove they are ''net contributors to society, have never claimed benefits and have a clean criminal record in order to qualify for permanent residency.''
If any of this actually happens I'll eat my hat. He can't even kick out the Afghan 'refugees' who pop back home for holiday. On the one hand he's claiming banning refugees is Racism and Reform bad, and then on the other he's implementing Reform's policies. I for one want to see a policy enacted where there's no hotels, no flats, no housing for migrants or refugees, and the only way they can come over is if a British Citizen gives them a room in their own property; get the fucking Stand up to Racism twats letting one of them in their own homes and communities.
good lord what the fuck is that. looks like a melted halloween decoration

I have said it before and I will say it again. Closing things like refineries and power stations reduces our ability to be self sufficient and increases reliance on potentially hostile foreign powers. It is treason.
The closing of Grangemouth was entirely tactical. The one thing that the Scots could agree upon, re: independence, was that oil is kinda a big deal. By closing the refinery (or by doing nothing to prevent it) you've left the independence movement dead and fucked in the water.

Nevermind that you now have an oil producing nation with no fucking oil refinery in it. I'm sure all the fucking Scotsmen vote Greeen anyway, and very definitely will love their English neighbours all the more for saving them from the evils of the petrodollar.
